People need to give themeselves more credit for their successes in life. People become depend on Church and do not think they could get through without it. The truth is the power and drive to accomplish our goals is within us, not within religion.
Girl, i know exactly what you mean. I know way too much to even sit in church now. There are a few things that I miss like the gospel choir, the family, the group prayer and even the general soul-stirring sermons, the ones that don't relate to any particular biblical chapter/verse, but that relate to real-life incidents and just opening one's soul to the spirit of God. But, the hypocrisy, judgment, and gross misinformation is just not something I can close my eyes and certainly not my mouth to.
My 2 cents: I don't think religion STARTED as a tool but I TOTALLY agree that it's being used as a tool. the same way you said, in the right hands it can be productive and in the wrong, destructive. Thats a perfect way to say it. NICE VID.
