Shane was mega. This is proof of his influences. Believe me, you're all gonna take the gospel angle... bullshit, this guy is total Rockabilly. It's a shame he never took his rockabillyism further.
Talk to me!!!! I know about his work with Matchbox guitarist (the other Fenton - lol) And i'm a dedicated rockabilly fan, but Alvin's known work (to me anyway) is poppy rock 'n' roll with a bit of gospel thrown in. It's great stuff, but not quite rockabilly. What have you heard??? Love Mikey xx
Alvin has recently worked with a Rockabilly Band from Bremen called the Wild Black Jets. There is a single CD and an album CD called "Rockin Train". The album is fantastic, a real treat for fans of rockabilly, and a shock for those who think of Alvin as "pop".
Such a great song and performance. I just hope that people realize that there is enough room in Heaven for Alvin Stardust, Johnny Cash and George Younce and desist comparing them to each other.
I believe that Alvin would feel that some of the words used here, are embarrassing and not necessary to advocate him - by the way he is a man of faith - so thsi song probably means a lot to him.
Well dumb I may be fleetadmiral1, but you've come over to talk on Alvin's video anyway, so maybe not so dumb! Guess you're wanting us to come over to yours then!
Johnny does sing this song better. His version is how it is supposed to sound. Not the pop/rock version above. By the way, I'm the one who posted the JC version so I know I watch that more than alvin's. The only reason I even look here is to see the dumb comments people post.
I didn't see the rock gospel show, so its a lovely surprise to see it now. Most, if not all of Alvin's songs are uplifting, even the potentially sad one's
Alvin is a rock and roll singer, I don't think you will ever hear a better version of this song-A Wonderful Time Up There. My Coo Ca Choo is unique, Alvin has a particular talent to make a song sound like a new life.
Alvin is far more versatile in style than most people realise i suspect. I heard Alvin sing Day by Day once and it was quite natural and beautiful. I wish it could be released.
great song by one of the greats ,,up there with gene vincent ,,cochran ,,etc...

Yes pardon me for giving into competitiveness over a spiritual. This is a special song for Alvin I'm sure, and he performs it live sometimes.

Really sad to see some of these comments considering the song's subject matter. Maybe some of you should take a closer listen...
