  • satanism is the true one

  • what's wrong with the presenter?? have his false teeth come off?

  • pls know the difference Frost, its only islum that its feels with hate!!!

  • frost is a legend... i love how his socks are always on show... WOOT GO FROST!

  • 'back to you james' lol classic

  • Hey no offense was taken, that's very true. I'm genuinely curious to know how people respond to that question, it is a tough one and many ideologies believed they had it correct such as Marxism, National Socialism etc. I suppose it's really the pursuit of truth and moral conscience. I think that humanity has and will always pursue this virtue which in itself is perceived as an aspect of faith.

  • I hear what you're saying, I suppose religion and faith can often be two very different things. I'm not sure I'd agree that religion inhibits science as a great deal of science was patronised by the church like the natural history museum in UK. Furthermore Islam helped the advancement of medicine, science and astronomy a great deal. I do agree that religious leaders have and do often preach messages of hate, w'boro very much so, I think that that is a great tragedy to those seeking religion.

  • I'm intrigued to hear your suggestion of what would be filled if 'religion did not exist' perhaps you could come up with some suggestions?

  • The BBC Affairs fella is quite condescending in his instant dismissal of faith just because he personally doesnt believe. The Iman of course, would defend Islam sadly a lot of the wars are caused by the INTERPRETATION of the Koran, to suit it seems. Pete is right, anyone who watched his amazing 80 faiths and saw his interviews with varying holy men they do indeed condone peace love non violence. Religion sadly is oft used as a thin veil of disguise just for war iof Man v Man. Tho Shalt not Kill.

  • peter owen jones is an amazing level headed man, i'd love to interview him

  • Kinda surprising to see someone with that collar saying things that actually make sense. Another historic moment brought to you by David Frost.

  • I wouldn't say it's a historic moment to hear a man in a collar talk sense of peace, love and reconciliation. There are a few who have been saying the same things for many years, but the world has been too noisy for anyone to listen.

  • true, but most of that noise comes from people wearing that collar or something similar, that's all i was saying.

  • That's very true, it's a shame and is often the case that the message of peace and tolerance is drowned out by the more aggressive message.

  • I talked to this Jehovah's witness girl once at the weekly meetings, and she was so sweet. But a few days later I tried to say something to her and she took one look at me and ran. I'll probably never get that image out of my head.

  • y did she run? now I'm intrigued

  • I wish I knew.

  • Religion is nothing but organize crime

  • Blaming everything that is wrong with the world because of religion seems unfair and ignore some of the good work organisations under a religious banner have done. (i.e. humanitarian aid).

I say stop blaming religion and look at the individuals, the humans, who are committing the acts.

  • Religion is human imagination gone mad. It fake and I really think that most "religious" people don't actually believe in religion they are just SCARED of going to hell.

  • Don't throw this religious bullshit at me I do not believe in religion. It makes you narrow minded. It stops man from advancing. It makes you ignorant towards other cultures. Religion has many holes. Jesus is based off many pagan stories. He is not real. He is a symbol created by a group of men. Hell is false it was created by religious fanatics so that could have an excuses to force people to join Catholicism. Maybe there some form of a higher power. But it is not some man in robes from a book

  • the political theory that James Hider sights, in which Marxism etc are extensions of the abrahamic faiths in that they call for sacrifice in hopes for a better world is shortsighted if not misplaced.

the desire for a better life and the sacrifices people have made for that better life predate all religions and have its roots deep in our evolutionary past.

this "utopianism" is the evolutionary mechanism that allowed for our survival as a species.

  • Just getting the conversation to started is a success IMO.

  • Public Religion is about Complete Control.

Religion should be like sex....keep it behind closed doors. It is your own business and not mine.

  • The problem with this talk is inherint in the question, "Religon" is not a means to anything, a belief system doesn't give you first-hand experience, it's funny they leave out hindusim, the only of the major religons other than taoism and buddhism that give you FIRST HAND experiece of the Divine so that you don't have to put blind faith in anything..

    GOD IS EVERYWHERE , EVERYTHING

How come christians view themself as separate from that? This is the problem!!

  • Blind faith is not Holy, blind faith is not righteous, ignorant belief in what you don't understand is not Sacred.

    FEAR-BASED-FAITH IS NOT VALID

Transform your Consciousness to Christ Consciousness, and EXPERIENCE the Divine first-hand

  • NewLemurian: Cristianity is a fear-based religion. In many parts of the bible, there are threats for those who believe in other gods and for those who don´t believe in any gods at all.

  • I didn't say christianity wasn't fear-based?

"God has no Religon" - Gahndi

All religon needs to aim at changing the Consciousness of the participant into that which Jesus personified in his incarnation on the Earth, it's possible to attain a level of Peace and Bliss that no one would believe is possible, but they don't realize that it's possible and how to tell them it's not a belief system it's first-hand experience?

  • Protestants and Catholics - Northern Ireland Hindus and Sikhs - India Muslims and Jews - Israel Muslims and Christians - East Timor Muslims and Muslims - Sudan Muslims and Muslims - Iraq Muslims and Muslims - Turkey Muslims and Muslims - Indonesia Muslims and Muslims - Pakistan Muslims and Muslims - Bangladesh Muslims and Muslims - Afghanistan and so on...
  • Religion has no constructive role in society or family life. It is a malodorous cancer upon us all.

  • @elitemathlete Religion may not, but spirituality does. The cause for unrest among religions is due to the anthropomorphism of G*d into a temperamental being who judges people for adherence to human defined value systems. This is the foible for the Occidental religions.

Perhaps, one consider Hindu thinking, which considers the Universe as being a direct manifestation of the Divine. The world becomes sacred, and love/friendship is the binding force.
