  • now i got this stuck in my head and sing it all day long, my husband looks at me like...'what?' and i say 'it s the moody blues'...only these guys can do what they do to me...love justin s voice. a fan since 1967.

  • Coke...did they actually drink it, or did they snort it???

  • Awesome I never knew the moody blues had commercials

  • I actually heard this on the radio. Only once, one night in October or November 1969 on KNUS 98.7 FM out of Dallas TX. That was the "underground" station that all the "freaks" and "heads" listened to. I didn't let that stop me, though.

  • Still the best commercial in the past 43 years! Still with ya junkjerk.

  • I'ld like to teach the world to sing, in perfect harmony....i think that worked better for that generation...lol

  • Whoever knew that drinking Coke would be so...cosmic? Lol!

  • I actually have a version of this with a small flute solo that was most likely cut because it made it longer than a minute.

  • @emilyssong16 That's because it was sung by the MOODY BLUES.

  • I wish they did a 3 minute Coke commercial song. Or use THIS melody for a real song :-(

  • Well....What kind of coke? ;-)

  • I bet the Moodies liked to pass around a big fat one to smoke while enjoying their Cokes!

  • i never knew they sold themself out so soon

    and btw "pepsi rules"lol

  • I can't believe they did a commercial for Coca-Cola! What year was this?

  • I love the '60s and '70s Moodies, but I had no idea they had ever done this commercial (I found it linked off the Tremeloes spot, which I still love). Sounds like about 1968 to me. Very nice!

About 1975 there was a commercial (for a wine, I think) on a Buffalo N.Y. radio station that sounded a lot like it had been done by the Moodies too. All I can remember was "R E Y".

  • First I've ever heard of this. One of the best sung commercials ever!

  • Well, I;m going to have a coke!!!

  • Some comments below are quite cynical. I detest Coke myself, but what's wrong with them singing a little jingle? Best Coke commercial I've ever heard, that's for sure!!

  • "The Moody Blues having a holiday with coke." If you think about it, that can have a different meaning.

  • I guess it just goes to show that bands, in the 60's and even more so now, are merely "products", and "tools" used to generate profit in any way possible. And as soon as their profitability wains... they're kicked to the curb, as quick as you can blink.

Yes, so drink that cool, refreshing, stomach-rotting, diabetes-inducing, beverage... and listen as the Moody Blues sells their souls to the devil ;)

  • something about this is, well, kinda sickening.......i mean, i love this band.

  • very good! sounds just like it came from an album.

  • There were a bunch of these made with many different artists in the 60's, like Otis Redding. There's actually another one by the Moody Blues that talks about relaxing and drinking a Coke. If you ever listen to Radio KYA out of Ocean Shores WA they play these old Coke ads in between songs. Its a great oldies station you can listen online that doesn't play the same old same old.

  • the Moody Blues cola commercial i remember is a different one from this and i believe is older- i'd never heard this one tx! another i love and am going to look for was by the fortunes; these old cola commericals were so much fun back then!

  • Never heard this and from my fav. band as well. Very cool indeed!

  • Wow, who knew a commercial could sound so beautiful? I love that sound they had back then.

  • I've read about them doing this commercial, but, this is the first time I've heard it! I love it!

  • What a trip- The Moody Blues doing a coke commercial. Sounded really good. And it's not as though they needed the money or anything!

  • Cool Have heard of it, but never seen it! Thanks for sharing! Where did u find ?

  • Well, it's 9 months later, I guess my baby is my love for this song. Best ever! Thank you again junkjerk. Oh! Wife is pregnant and 8 months to go. Moody if a girl, Blue if a boy? Whattaya think?

  • I've always read about this commercial but this is the first time I'm actually hearing it. It's great! Thanks for posting this!

  • This is waaay cool!

This ad also goes to show a) just how wonderfully different and unique The Moody Blues are and 2) that not every rock and roll act is a Pepsi band/singer!

    Keep on Trippin'!

    BrainheartMan

  • WOW! Knew they'd made the adverts but never heard any of them, and they manage to make it sound like just another great track.

  • It's a crime that this wonderful group isnt in the Rock HOF!

  • @Screenman5

Don't worry - The Rock HOF means nothing. If it actually was a Hall of Fame, the Moodies would be there as they were HUGE.

  • @Screenman5 The RRHOF does not deserve them.

  • Holy Crap! I remember this (well, NOW). Thanks for picking my old brain.

  • Where did you find this? Blimey, fantastic!

  • Never heard this one before. Thanks for posting!

    Annie :D

  • The Moody Blues...60`s giants,.ktf.

  • ....Moodys....Legends From The Beginning....

  • I've told people for 39 years this song existed and finally I have proof! This was on the radio in April of 1969. Thank you junkjerk!

  • What an incredible sound... They could put the phone phone book to their sound and it would have been brilliant.

  • I feel so bad, I'm drinking Pepsi right now!!!:(

  • cmon , watch more of my vids and go brainwashed

    lol

  • Nice find thejunk. I humble myself in saying I had no idea the Moody Blues did a Coke commercial, but it does sound good.

  • ty Plankton2

  • Wow, this is rare@ You can track the fingerprints of this awesome band in every song they made, they have their unique style and their unique sound.5 stars!!

  • They did three. One in 1965, one in 69 and one in 70. They also did a photo shoot of them holding coke bottles in 69, which I had and lost......

  • nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

  • I think it's ridiculous that even when singing a song about Coca Cola of all things, the Moody Blues can make it sound like a masterpiece. Haha.

  • you are so right

  • thank you too moodygirl

  • That's the best Coca Cola commercial I've heard! Thanks for posting it.

  • thanks a lot too nomie
