  • look guys u can tell its federer! look at his raquet the BLX WIlson Six.One Tour lol

he was just messing around witht he backhand lol

  • Whatever, Roger also would be the best player in soccer

  • it's lucky that federer choose tennis instead of football...

  • he isa complete entertainer:-)

  • ive always wondered what he would look like when playing a two handed backhand and its still classy

  • his 2 hander is better

  • @gg2000gg2000 how the fuck do u know?

  • FOOTBALL! not soccer...

  • Roger federer two-handed backhand :P and Soccer

  • Roger federer two-handed backhand :P

  • Backhand OMG not possible for me@!!1

  • greatest to ever play tennis....hands down

  • he'd still beat me with that 2 hand

  • too bad he doesn't use this occasionally when people attack him with crazy topspin...then rip a one-hander when the opening comes

  • He doesn't even play with two handed backhands and he still has such a beast of a shot with it

  • If Federer had a two-handed backhand, I do believe he would be better. Don't get me wrong, he performs the one hander almost perfectly, but the two-hander is more reliable.

  • @Goldthehedgehog11 i guess thats why he won wimbledon couple of times..u know sampras couch when he was young made him have a one hand backhand to win wimbledon, and rogers backhand passing shots are unique, so sry but NO

  • @nicogam6 Dude, I'm just stating an opinion. Calm down.

  • @Goldthehedgehog11 oke lol

  • @Goldthehedgehog11 if roger played the two-hander he wouldnt be the player he is and he wouldnt be admired as much as he is. cause in a game of brutes pushing and grunting at the ball with their hideous two-handers he brings ellegance and variety with his beautiful one-handed backhand

  • @Goldthehedgehog11 The ne handed backhand is the best for the serve and volley style of play he began with

  • He needs to play more serious, 3.5 at best

  • ahahahah estaba re paja xD

  • @tradingbr WTF

  • @tradingbr

    why do you say that?

  • @tradingbr ?????

  • @tradingbr what are you talking about?

  • @tradingbr epic win. +1

  • i think he wants to try being nadal for the day

  • federer does play everything..

  • he played alot of sports not just football and tennis

  • A big disadvantage of a two-hander is it's harder to create big topspin.

  • um its easier to create topspin idiot

  • Is there anything this man cannot do with a tennis racquet?

  • Nope

  • Nice 2handed backhands :D

  • haha he wasnt serious at all

  • 1.i didnt know federer can do a double handed backhand

    2. does federer play soccer cause ive seen him do alot of stuff with tennis balls only soccer players can do

  • Federer played beside tennis football until he was 12 years old.

  • federer does play soccer. he had the choice of soccer or tennis as a career and he chose tennis. THANK GOD.

  • at 12 years old you don't choose to be a pro athlete. More like the choice is made for you.

  • @picothedog77 That's nadal dude.

  • @mastercuber FedEx too, guy...

  • @mastercuber THAT IS FEDERER,

SILENCE IF YOU DON'T KNOW THE TRUTH

  • @mastercuber No, it's that David Ferrer guy. R-Fed doesn't use a two-hand backhand.

  • @DexterHaven49 The guy in this video is Roger...

  • @federerbestcIass Yes, you are right. I was clowning about his backhand, as the key evidence, to mock these conspiracy kooks who say 9-11 was a controlled demolition job covered up by a plane crash. They actually think Bush & Cheney rigged the building with bombs to create an excuse for war. That stuff is irresponsible. This is really Nadal, though? I can tell by the backhand... ;)

  • @picothedog77 Which seems to be a common theme. Djokovic's dad wanted him to become a soccer player, Murray was offered a contract for Glasgow Rangers, Gael Monfils had a professional contract. And thats just a few of the players.

  • most tennis players learn how to do a two handed backhand first. this is usually because you start when you are too young/weak to do a one handed backhand :D

  • Both backhands have their respective advantages and disadvantaged, the few i can think off the top of my head One handers -farther reach -easier to disguise shots, but... -Good footwork neccesary -harder to learn let alone master -prone to breakdown on clay Two handers -Easier to learn -less harder to put spin -Farther contact point
  • @gargarensi The contact pt for a 2HBH is closer to the body than that of a 1HBH. You can hit more out in front with a change grip... that or have perfect timing like Agassi or Davydenko.

  • First one looked like a golf stroke. Maybe this was after a game with Tiger.

  • haha...cool!

  • one handed backhands look better...

federer can deliver a certain string with his backhands...

  • GueorguiJoukov seems to know what he's talking about. I would listen to his point of view and think about what he's saying.

  • two-handed backhand:D:D:D:D

  • oh my gosh, he's hitting a two handed backhand-i've never seen him hit that

  • I can also hit both backhands and in defence I prefer the slice or two handed backhand. In offence however I find it easier to use the one-hander as I find it easier to put spin on the ball. I learned the two hander first so it is probably more solid than my one-handed backhand. Roger hitting the two-hander looks kinda cool though.

  • Who cares...?

  • lol first time i've seen roger not look absolutely perfect on a stroke! lol.

  • Even his 2 handed backhand looks better than most backhands of the top 50....

  • his two handed backhand is still probably better then roddicks

  • LOL! I wanted to post the same comment^^

  • 1 hand gives you more flexibility for reaching drop shots and balls out of your reach etc. It looks really graceful too like Federer.

  • Federer use two hand backhand!

  • Mira como le da con dos vamos al reves y como patea la pelotita.... ojo con Roger, eh! MUY BIEN. Very good.

  • jack knife!

  • one handed backhand is better than 2handed backhand................

    powerful

    graceful

    beautiful

  • (K)ontrol

  • yes, and better control

  • im not so sure about power, as well as consistancy.

    but

    graceful, beautiful, definatly!

  • in lot of situations isn`t but it is unique

  • my friend said you need to be really strong to do a two handed backhand, is that true? hopefully not =(

  • no, 2 hand not at all, more in the one hand you need to rotate your shoulders more, 2 hand gives you more control, with less power.

  • Two hands have only one single small advantage: control. It's a thousand time easier to master and this is why so many pros prefer it.

A one handed backhand is way harder, gives you way more angles, way more options and you can hide a slice. You also have more reach and on top of all that, it is more graceful.

What would be Roger with a two handed backhand? He'd be way lesser impressive and lesser great; without the angle advantage it gives him, he'd miss many passing shots.

  • how can the 2 hander give you more "control" but the 1 hander give you more angles...

  • Getting more angles means you have a greater rotational degree around your body to play the ball.

A two handed won't give you this freedom, but what limits the possibility is also what makes it easier to aim for a precise direction.

So, getting more angles is an option based on the freedom you have while control means it is easier to aim accuratly at these angles.

To be perfectly clear, a one handed backhander is far better than a two handed backhander but is more difficult to control.

  • The difference between one hand and two hands is based on something hard and somethign impossible.

These extreme angles, great power and all intense variations you can hit are hard to pull off on a one handed backhander, while they are impossible to do with two hands

  • so nalbandian and marcelo rios had trouble finding angles and spin with a two handed backhand? PLEASE BE REAL. the differences are simply due to preference.

  • No. It's biological. Your second hand limit your freedom.

Yes they find angles, but they have to move more around the ball to find them. Which means, at some point they can't play the shot while Roger can.

  • To Federer's very admission, Nalbandian has a better backhand than he has.

  • Second that

  • to add to your list, people with double backhands tend to get fewer injuries and thus a longer career.

but RF is a special case of course and we don't see him getting injured much

also, one hand backhands can reach farther than double backhands so that's an advantage

  • Well, as with each stroke, it al ldepend on whether you do it well or not. If Federer is never injured it is because he has the best motion on the tour on each stroke. As simple as that.

Nadal is always in pain with his legs and now he even got injurred... That's an example of player not to imitate.

  • Depends if you hit it right. Look Nadal. His forehand moves much, but his game kills his knees.

Smaller flaws become bigger if you push harder.

And Nadal push and push and perhaps push a third time to be certain it's enough. We also know him for being very intense. All this combined makes him injury prone. Peculiarly on hard courts where he hates so much to play.

For an amteur, it matters less since he pushes less.

  • But at the same time, I see many people trying to hit hard without being able to swing correctly.

Injuries are relative to the user, not the weapon.

The fact a one hander is more prone to injury comes from the power you can put into it. IF you're trying to rush it and lock your elbow, of course it will hurt.

  • i think you are wrong.

one handed is a much more natural stroke. and you have to run less. therefore, less injuries.

  • you have to run alot more for the delicate one handed

it's heavily dependent on foot position

  • i think your wrong the one handed backhand involves so much more footwork then the two hander. Theres no way you can hit a one hander in an open stance.

  • If Federer was a two hander, he would beat nadal more often because Nadal wouldnt attack his bh as much sicne his 1hbh is very vulnerable against high bouncing topspin shots

  • if federer was a 2hander he would never be the great and gracious player he is and he would never be so appreciated worldwide. because its not just about winning but playing pretty tennis and roger's is the prettiest out there

  • I heard that Rafael Nadal, in the very begining, still in juvenile, played with the two hands on both sides. His uncle, Tony, trained him to play with one of the hands for forhand. So Nadal chose the left arm. Nadal does everything with the right hand - to write, everything but playing Tennis.

  • actually i heard that his uncle made him play left handed..but yes he can play with both hands that is why is backhand is so good

  • High bouncing shots with heavy topsin are difficult to control for both 1 handed and 2 handed backhand players. It's not exactly easy to handle on the forehand either.

  • Well in a way that statement is true. High bouncing balls from those huge looping shots many clay courters use, such as Nadal, are difficult for players who are mainly best on faster surfaces such as Federer. If you look at players such as Kuerten, who won 3 French Opens with his one hander, or more recently Gaston Guadio, who won French Open 2004, Stanlisas Wawrinka, and Richard Gasquet, they almost never seem to have problems with high balls because they use a diffierent grip than like Roger

  • so what you are saying is that federer uses a different grip that all those other players? i always felt curious about that problem with high balls to federer's backhand. i believe i use the same grip that federer uses because i also have problem with high balls and i use federer's grip as well.

i don't know if what i'm saying is wrong or what :/

  • I could not cope with being so close to Roger...

  • Damn, dawg. He is so relaxed on whatever shot he tries to hit, Federer, impressive. Best two-handed jumping backhand on tour would have to go to Safin, though.

  • that's not true

  • ah ah!! true

  • and he says he cant hit a 2 handed

  • federer is the best tennis player ever in my opinion he doesn`t try his best but he can still hit a perfect shot.

  • i'm a 3.5 player but $50 says he can probably play left-handed and beat me lol

  • Lol that was awesome :D

    ~RedX4Ryuk~

  • looks like he is having a lot of fun

  • He can win an easy point with that shot by surprising his opponent :p

  • he once said he doesn't know how to hit a two handed bh. well he knows but its really bad, the jump backhand just failed.

  • I think he once joked that if he used the 2-handed backhand, he'd hit the ball out of the stadium because he can't control it well. lol

  • it's..strange to see that 2 handed Backhand from Roger! :D

  • I guess he always wanted to try that again Nadal if he was a two hander =P

  • OMg... Jack Knife Backhand !!!

Lol.. He shud do that... People wud be like wtf -amazed- . I think he shud try that.. but not on serious points.

  • 2 handed backhand!!!!!!

  • federer two handed backhand??? He said He can't and don't know how to do two handed backhand in the interview before.

  • Isn't it strange and funny? Gotta love his liar mouth :D Omg and he considers THAT bad...and for all this time i really thought he could not hit one!!!

I so wanna spank Roger right now...;)

  • OMG he used a 2 hand backhand O_O!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • :O Very nice

  • hrm. nice form. =D

  • Yeah, even his two-hander looks smooth and elegant.

  • @mdenopol thats what she said...

  • Fantastic, light hearted, cool, trying things out because he knows the new, the fresh, can always add something to his game... and it's good to just know... That's Roger.

  • Wow his 2 handed backhand also looks good. Best of luck with Roger.

  • that was funny watchin federer hit a two handed backhand. lol

  • hah hes so funny

  • this is clearly during practice. practice is the time when you fool around and let it all go.

  • and yet ur making urself look like a dumbass >.>

  • How is it disrespectful? He's just trying out new things its not like he's imitating someone and making them look bad. There are so many 2 handedbackhand ppl these days.

  • actually never mind

  • Yeah, cuz its offensive to the two-handers... Come on, they are grown men, they can handle a little joke or some imitation... you gonna get on to comedians next?

  • unlike everybody else, he looks great playing two-handed

  • two-handed backhand? he thought he is marat? haha

hope he has already recovered from illness and starts his games from indian wells.
