MAMS, thank you so much for posting the videos of Keith. I was raised up with his music and he is my idol. barbidoll0 all I can say is that if you honestly think that, I'm sorry. Her tour didn't cause him to over do it for nothing. Keith, you ARE the best and your sadly missed by all. We love you and will keep your music strong....God bless you MAMS for posting this wonderful music......(Can't stand Lorrie Morgan)
I have always thought that Lorrie Morgan was a beautiful and talented woman. She is such a woman of enormous strength and dignity. She has a voice of an angel. This song is so sad and haunting. Thanks for the post and memories.
@810haha You are smoking crack. You know there is a thing called google. Try it, you can learn a lot. They were not seperated, she was on tour you idiot. And also to the rest of you know it all's.
I always thought Lorrie was a super attractive lady. I always liked her songs, but what I admired most about her was the confident way she behaved, self assured, and comfortable in her own shoes. She is "easy on the eyes, hard on the heart."
Look, you guys, I am a self-proclaimed mega-superfan, and I can tell you that I have an image of Keith that I worship that may not necessarily match the real man. I try not to think about the shortcomings, the way he died, etc. I wasn't trying to put anyone in their place, just simply saying that their marriage wasn't what we wished it was. Barbidoll0, take a look at the vid of Keith & Lorrie fishing together that was just posted. Keith hardly speaks. You can just feel the tension.
@MAMsMom97 im not a huge Lorrie fan, but if u just hear the songs she sings, it tells u, she wanted more then what she was gettin.... Happiness is what ppl search for
@MAMsMom97 I'm sorry, that I'm just now responding. My computer has been down. Anyhow, here is my response. Sure, there was tension. What marrige doesn't have that sometimes? I know, my parents' tension got so bad, they got a divorce.
Wow, I remember thinking this song was so sad everytime I would hear it. Now that I know this story I se why. I wasn't quite old enough to get it back then.
She told Ralph Emery in an interview after this performance that it's a faux. She said it gave her something to play with. In fact, Ralph even mentioned how much she looked like Dolly with the faux on. She responded by looking inside Keith's old jacket she had on here (to compare her chest with hers).
Stick with me, Elin, we'll go places! (LOL) No, seriously, in case you haven't figured it out, she was Keith's widow and the mother of his only child. This was the song she had on the US charts right around the time of Keith's death. I loved her hairpiece she had on here! I have one kind of like this, except mine is brown to match.
Lorrie's daddy was the singer George Morgan. He was best known for the 1948 classic "Candy Kisses," but there was a song "From This Moment On" that he did that Lorrie added her vocals to, an inorganic duet of sorts. That song is on YouTube if you'd like to check it out.
Back during Keith's bluegrass days, the first time he ever played on the Grand Ole Opry the first Opry member he ever met was (incredibly) George Morgan. Who'd have thought he'd wind up years later marrying his daughter? Isn't that wild?
Let me think. George passed away in '75, Keith started playing bluegrass when he was 15, that was '69-'70, so it was between '70 & '75. Keith would have been between 15 and 20 years old, and he was 31 when he married Lorrie in November '86.
lorrie morganz a little crazerz.
