McColl is mentioned more in the real Thomas and Friends series more than Sam the Farmer. The only time I remember when Sam was mentioned was in 'Percy's Ghostly Trick'.

Because Farmer McColl is more well known, and it is known as Market DAY because you bring your food in on one day, and then it is judged on a different day.
