For a HIGH SCHOOL jazz band, I'd say they are better than MOST COLLEGE level jazz bands!

I'm in North Carolina, but I still haven't gotten the DA call, and it's May 1st. Every time we try to call them, they say they'll call us. If there's some kind of results sheet or something, can someone please help? It's been 3 months o_o.

I graduated in '02 from the music program in this school, and I have to say, it was so awesome to see what amazing things the school is still doing. It was the best high school experience a person could ask for - and it makes me so glad that it looks like it's still that way for many people.

Sorry, guys. Apparently, the competition claims all rights to "video or audio recordings taken at said event" are "under the complete jurisdiction of the said event" and "any reproduction or distribution of said recordings is prohibited except where prohibited by state law." I'll see what I can do. Maybe they'll post it anyway. Who knows?

ok you little worm let's see you do better I go to this school. I'm not in Jazz Band cuz I'm a vocalist have you even seen the movie documentary CHOPS? DA has a highly acclaimed KICK ASS Jazz Band and Mr. Martin would kill them if they play without feeling so shut up

How can a person know for sure what another person is feeling? You can get a good idea by looking at their actions. For example, you can listen to how they play. There is absolutely no genuine feeling in this group. They are merely going through the motions. They are so busy thinking about chords, notes, rhythms, and texture that they forget what Jazz is about. It's okay for this group, though. They are just training to be generic studio musicians. One day, their Walmart music will be published!

I play tenor in the jazz band over at Creekside high over in St.Johns and you guys are just amazing. Though marching is still quite the experience

douglas anderson has such a great jazz ensemble. was this one of the ensembles that made it to the essentially ellington festival?

is it hard to get in douglas anderson for guitar? im a girl and i dont play classical for jack. i went on the school website they said i need to play a classical piece...

what else.. i wanna try out but is it hard?? i can play social distortion stuff, eric claptons tears in heaven of course, reverend horton heat, and stuff like that.. been playing for about four years now. wow i wanna get in. someone reply back!!

I had the priviledge of seeing the two young sax players and the pianist at the midnight jazz jam session and the Marriot. The young men are beyond extraordinary for their years. I have played sax much longer than these young men together and I had to sit back, take note, and learn a few things!! Keep it up boys!
