I currently have this vintage TV Time popcorn for sale on ebay. Only 1 in the world! Just put the words "Annie Oakley Popcorn" in the search box on ebay site.
They must have changed the intro where she stands up on her horse and shoots a bullseye. Originally she shot through the ace in the ace of spades card which was held in someones hand.
@zipper179 Sure do! Sheena was aired in the mid 50's. McCalla died in 2002. Not sure if you can order any videos of her show. Oh yeah...How about Clutch Cargo, the first animated mouth on a cartoon...weird, but I watched it every day.

Where did you come up with that statement because you are Incorrect?
Gail Davis was one of the most "Skillful" horseback rider's in the Biz, that is why she got the Lead in "Annie Oakley" because she did the RIDING you See here and she did her own stunts. We were best friends until her passing and she gave me her life story which is in writing and on tape and we talked about those filming days on a weekly basis at her place near Bob Hope, Walt Disney and Bing Crosby's house.
Can you tell me a link to confirm that information about the REAL Annie Oakley riding sidesaddle because I find NO information of her even riding a horse because she was known for her "Sharpshooting"!
She had the starring role in Buffalo Bill's Wild West show, which propelled her to become the first American female superstar.
Using a .22 caliber rifle at 90 feet Oakley reputedly could split a playing card edge-on and put five or six more holes in it before it touched the ground.
@Maskedman46 I did not make that stament. I was indicating that the person who made that statement was referring to the actual Annie and not the TV one. I seriously doubt that she rode only sidesaddle but I'll check it out.
@Maskedman46 Found this on the internet. Not sure of the origin..... She only rode astride for the Wild West Shows, when she was not "working" she rode sidesaddle as all proper women did. She was a classy dresser and her wild west show outfits became the rage and set a fashion trend for split skirts and ladies "western attire."
Its funny how i remember these shows as old shows watching them in the late 1950's and early 1960's. This was 5or 6 years old at the time i watched it and i remember it as an old show back then. Around 1960 all these 1950 shows looked as old as they do now,i remember it well, even at 7 or 8 years old. The Three Stooges,Abbott and Costello,Topper, The Little Rascals, East Side Kids, all old shows probably 10 years old when we kids watched in the late 50's to early 60 's.
@1952kid The East Side Kids or as they were also known as : The Dead End Kids. And don't even get me started on the Little Rascals, originally known as Our Gang. I wanted to have all the adventures like they did. My mom actually grew up in the same kind of environment and would tell me stories of things she did very similar to the LR.
@JDintheOC Both my parents are gone now, God rest there souls. Mom told us stories about outhouse's in N.J. , And dad grew up in Hells Kitchen ,NYC. He grew up like the Dead End Kids , by the Brooklyn NAVY yard, be he told us no stories of his childhood. We figured it was pritty bad for him. i come here on Utube, to watch my old carttons and shows from the 1950's and 1960's . DID you watch Super Circus and then later Terrytoon Circus with Claude Kirshner and Clownie.
@1952kid I don't believe any of those shows were shown in California. We had Bozo the Clown, Buck Shureshot,Engineer Bill and Sheriff John to name a few. Oh yeah, there was also Tom Hatten with Popeye cartoons. My mon was born and raised in Oklahoma and grew up in Missouri, Kansas and Arkansas. I primarily watched Westerns and Science Fiction programs with a dab of Time for Beanie (puppets) thrown in.
I have a few of these on DVD. I read that Gail Davis did a lot of her own stunts and traveled in a rodeo. I remember seeing her recently on the Andy Griffith show, she played the girl that beat Andy in sharp shooting.
Actually Gail Davis did appear on the Andy Griffith Show as Karen Moore in the episode The Perfect Female as a shopshooter who outshoots Andy. Joanna Moore appeared as Peggy "Peg" McMillian 4 episodes: Opie's Rival, Barney Mends a Broken Heart, Andy and Opie Bachelors, and Andy's Rich Girlfriend. Gail Davis was the real deal, she could shoot and ride just like Annie Oakley and the role on the Andy Griffith Show was written specifically for her.
See? I thought it was her on the show all the time. It shows you that Richard Kelly's book is in error on this. Gale Davis is not mentioned. Too bad they didn't cast her since either she or Joanna Moore displayed more of a genuine sexual chemistry with Andy Griffith. But it seems Andy was a bit insecure about such things, eventhough the on screen impression seemed very real.
This is from an original 1954 syndicated print, when TV Time Popcorn and Canada Dry Ginger Ale were her co-sponsors [later prints eliminated the sponsor I.D.'s, of course]....

Actually that was Joanna Moore. She was very much like Gail Davis. I thought she was the same person too. Joanna Moore was Tatum O'Neil's mother.

Yeah you can have that decade, if anything give me the 70's. A right blend of the old cultural values, along with new school fun.
