Ron hardy certainly used to lay the music down, those were the days. I do miss the Musicbox and all the great people I met there during the day; Robert, Tim, Dwight , Kenneth and a host of others.
@adangme Ron played the best part of the song. That was at least until the crowd got so used too it that he would play more and more of it. Take Bad Luck he started out just playing the last part of the song and worked us all the way to the beginning. What was really cool was how he would start the song out in the middle or at the end work his way backward and forward. Like the love I lost he would always start out from the very end with Teddy singing "Come on Yall. Um hum um hum well well"
i went to my first ron hardy party in the south loop at a place called "edge of the lookingglass." the place was packed with people, everyone dancing. not like now where the crowd is so douchey and are at the clubs to be seen. the walls were sweatting and it was just a plain ol good fuckin time. when i was leaving, i passed the booth and there he was, smoking a cigarette, watching a record spin. i remember passing by him thinking how great of a living legend he was.
Does any one know where Ron Hardy was buried? Accoring to the documentary, "Maestro" Robert Williams said that Ron's mother came and got him because he was very sick and took him back to Springfield with her until he died. I don't know if he means Springfield, Il or some other town called Springfield. I assume that he was probably talking about Springfield Illinois.
look @ MAGIC JUAN wit all the KNOWLEDGE! WHO KNEW PIMPS WAS DEEP, LIKE THAT? CHUCH? I'M SURE, IT AINT THE BISHOP, THOUGH. THAT SHIT'D BE BUGGED OUT IF THAT WAS HIM CALLIN SHIT FROM THE LAPTOP LIKE THAT! MASTERFULLY FUNNY! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK! WHILE YOU'RE @ IT; WHAT WAS THE TITLE OF THE SECOND SINGLE RELEASED FROM CRAIG MACK'S DEBUT ALBUM? HUNH?
Don't know unfortunately - would love to get this one! Heard another mix of his with it in on DHP. Sounds very like Jesse Saunders or Vince Lawrence 808 programming (like the beats on the B-side of On & On or the ones on the Virgo Trax EP, which would fit in with the date of the tape). Maybe it really was unreleased - I heard he used to play loads of cassettes and maybe its one of them. Anyone know this? Please!
anyone know the name of the song in around 1.40

Im interested: For those of you who've visited the Music Box, how did Ron Hardy play his music?
Did he just play breaks, the first verse or what?
