the product I used for tightlining ( and the only one that worked for me, and wow the colors it brought out) was cruelly discontinued with no warning for me to buy extra. I would pay a lot of money just for a single tube. the only one on the market like is is guerlain loose kohl, but that does not stick either.
This is why I only do tight-lining (I'll post a picture on my bg in a minute, discontinued liner :( ) and could never work out fake lashes... even make up artists struggle with me, forget foundation, that one they gave up on. I'm going to try your method :) when I was little, in pictures especially it looked like I had NO eyebrows, lol. and even today bottom lashes are completely invisible. what helps is some darker lashes at the top (but roots are still bleach-blonde) oi what a pain!
1st day of 7th grade was the first time I ever wore blush. I put it lightly on my cheeks and didn't really notice a difference, so I put more and more on until I was able to see just a slight rosy hue. When I got to school my friend laughed at me and made me wash my face.
Three years later I found out I have Protanomaly, a form of Red-Green Colorblindness. A few seconds after getting the diagnosis, I finally realized why all the kids called me Bozo for a while there.
@rosskay I really hope this worked for you. I was so excited when I figured it out that I had to immediately redo my makeup and film this. The public needed to know!! lol And trust me, I know all about looking goofy in public with makeup on.
@CaviarDreamer me too. a lot of products came and went that worked beautifully for blonde eyelashes. there was this one from loreal feather lash they called "auburn" but they discontinued it, and that color entirely. they don't keep products that would suit us on the market long because so few of us exist to buy them *sigh* they should make an option to make a few on demand in that case.
This is so helpful because my eyelashes are so pale that I have to wear mascara but it never looked like it was applied properly because of the line. Thanks for posting!
I've been looking for an answer to this problem, literally, for WEEKS. Even my roommate (who is not a blonde/ginger) was looking for me! I'm SOO glad I found this!
Thank you thank you thank you. This whole time I thought I was doing my makeup wrong because I had that line. Now I know it's a common problem with redheads. The annoying thing for me is that I have dark eyelashes, but the roots are my problem - they're blonde! How strange...
Thanks again - heading out to buy the 'marker' eyeliner tomorrow.
OMG!!!!THANKYOU SOOO MUCH!!! i always look rediculous lol my hair is a strawberry blond and my eyelashes and brows are almost invisible so of course i want 2 wear makeup but it makes me look rediculous because my roots show and i have the gap thanks!!!! i had searched everywhere for a solution and i finally got one!!!!! yay!!!!!
OH MY GOD THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU ARE A LIFE SAVOR! im so sick of the stupid gap, i mean us blondes and red heads we are so sick of the gap!!!!!!!! i eventually just gave up and put only mascara but now!!!!!!!
@MissTummiBear I've tried it with various pencil liners. The problem I come across is the tip of the pencil is too fat to fit between the lashes and color their roots as well as the skin between each lash. Creamier pencils seem to work better when used with a fine angle brush. I get some product on the brush, then start lining. The bristles of the brush get the product in the gap a bit better.
@MissTummiBear The reason I suggest the liquid pen-liners is that thin tip reaches between the lashes with ease. Also, because the product is a liquid rather than a wax/cream, it has less chance of gooping/gloping up at the base of your lashes and causing a big mess, especially when you go to apply your mascara.
If I were you, I'd give it a try tonight. If you like how it looks, you know what to do tomorrow. If it doesn't work, then you can just take it off and try something else.
@MissTummiBear One final note- if you're worried about cost, you can find liquid pen liners at the drugstore for very cheap. I got the one I use in this video (Physician's Formula) at Walmart for $9, but Jordana makes one just like it in black or brown for $2 at Walgreens. NYX makes a good one too, check online for availability. Wet & Wild's pen sucks, steer clear of it. It runs all over the place.
At least if you go this route and hate the product, you're only out a couple bucks. Good Luck!
this is so useful!!
