What I do is: ** i use ms excel and basically plan out my monthly costs and I never forget to pay myself.. After all the bills are done i treat my savings like a bill because if you don't pay yourself. your money will just disappear.. learned that the hard way when i claimed bankruptcy at 23
I get the important stuff out of the way, only have around $20 in my pocket every 2 weeks, and leave my debit card in my closet unless I know I'll be needing it. Impulse buys and eating out kill me so limiting on hand funds saves me a lot.

Fiscal wisdom? Pay with cash, and look at the amount of money you're about to hand over for things you don't actually need.
