  • Paukenkiger ur a fuckin idiot.u shud b shot.

  • man, i think that if you get the 'phone up to an inch above beltline, you will discover a whole new world of amazingly user-friendly angles of attack, which will in turn expand your tonal pallette exponentially (translation: raise your instrument about 3 inches, dude....i think that you will be pleasantly surprised) a 42

  • you're a really good pianist

  • nice man, I'm studying percussion at 'Cuse right now!

  • how do u memorize it so awesomly!?!

  • congratulations......you've mastered a totally useless instrument.....and annoying, as well.....good job!

  • @paukenkiger the xylophone is a useless instrument? really?

  • @paukenkiger USELESS?!! I believe that you are much more useless than a xylophone.

  • Cool, most children's books have xylophones listed for the letter x, so I searched for a video that would show my 2 year old what one really looks like. Thanks for posting. It sounded great (he asked if we could do it again :)

  • you must have been trained by bob becker....you have the same posture. make it look too ez. great job!!

  • Are those becker blues? Becker Blues rule, just wondering.

  • @phunnyplace yup, the one and only!

  • @davemathews48 ok good, cause i just ordered becker blues, they are awesome!

  • xylo is way too low lol

  • cool

     love it

  • i played this piece as the soloist at our concert this weekend.

it sounds soooo much better with marimbas playing the other parts

  • I think it's really cool XD

  • Good job! Keep on playin'

  • isn't that triplet solo break at the end so fun, i love that part.

  • Skilled players can read and play at same time, by use of kinesthetics, which is muscle memory. It's very hard but after years of practice it should come naturally. I can't really sightread like some people can, and usually when I learn a piece it's automatically memorized so I don't try to read it at the same time.

  • thank you.

  • when learning it is very difficult to look at the music while playing. thats why percussionist memorize music so well, because we do from when we start playing. this isn't really a good thing and it takes a fair few years to trust your hands and keep your eyes on the music while playing.

  • dude u know your suppose to tacet with means Rest the first time on letter C or did u do that on porpose

  • the xylophone is too short for you

  • @AjaxHammer6 I know, I should have checked the height of the xylo before the recital... adrenaline must have kicked in and made me forget :P

  • The sound of the auditorium and the sound of this particular xylophone are just right... what's the make and model? Of course, you did a great job as well.

  • @KawhackitaRag Thank you! It's Yamaha's Rosewood Xylophone, I believe model YAM-YX500RC.

  • good dynamics.

  • nice wristwork

  • Very well done.

I'm playing Log Cabin Blues for my percussion ensemble this year. How long did it take you to learn it?

  • Again, excellent work. I've learned and perfected [and by that I mean not actually perfect, but you get my meaning] Log Cabin Blues. I'll post the video when I perform!

    Great Job!

p.s. I still can't play quite that fast, as I am only a Sophomore in High School. =P

  • what arrangement is that? Cheers, Martin

  • bob becker's version for marimba ensemble. i just condensed the other parts to make it work for piano. cheers :)

  • actully its called dill pickels

  • its not that hard i play marimba so it would be interestring to play it on xlo

  • Nice, good job. What mallets are you using, they sound great

  • the bob becker blue's

  • pretty good job. xtlo looks alil short tho.

  • (cont.) I know you are at the mercy of playing on whatever instrument "they" provide. But if you like playing it lower, hey, I'll just shut up-everyone has their own style. One minor thing, avoid wearing a tie like that when doing mallet work. They like to hang in the way and lay on the keys. Keep up the good work!

  • Hey great job.Nice stick control with great dynamics. I love the sound of those mallets. One little bit of advice, it may just be the angle of the camera but the xylo. seems to be a little low for you.You may want to set it on some blocks.

  • Good job! Which arrangement of Dill Pickles did you use? I arranged my own version for xylophone and two marimbas.

  • GUMP!

  • Just love that xylophone sound xD i really wish i could play one, i might buy one, the day i have enough spare money xD 'cos i know i'd never take it seirously, but it'd be great to just have and mess about on lol, well done though, great playing

  • that is awesome. I'm a xylophone player too but a marching xylo ones in a marching band in Malaysia.

  • I was looking on google for program notes for my own recital - and this video came up - and I was so surprised to see Setnor!

    haha

    -Erica

  • haha, holy crap. That's awsesome. I happen to be working on Log Cabin Blues myself, it isn't any picnic but you played that ridiculously awesome

  • I like your vid clip and I've rated it as awesome. Please check out my video clip of some very rare 1934 tobacco cards of old and ethnic musical instruments.

  • I am talking about the dill pickle rag, sorry if I accidentally forgot to say the name of the song!

  • Nice job! I'm learning that one the piano right now. I really like that song!

  • I am learning that on the piano right now I like the song! Great job!

  • really nice man. how long did it take you to learn those? what's your musical background? keep it up

  • AMAZING!!!

  • awesome!!! i played log cabin blues last year for a concert, but it was with the marimbas, the original ensemble. You are good man. nice video.

  • Actually, the ensemble version is an arrangement of this original piano version that Green would have played.

  • NICE!
