i lived in church road in the late 1950s in the summer the traffic would be stopped outside the house in the traffic on a sunday about teatime for over 30 mins without moving one sunday in the summer the police stopped any more cars coming on to the island because there was not anywere to park
Brilliant video. I remember going to Hayling Island in 1974, {I think}, and coming across the old station complete with buildings. I went the next year with my camera and the whole lot had been demolished.
A delight to see this, I can remember waiting at the Langstone crossing for this train to go past (on the way by car to Hayling's beaches). Given the difficulty in getting off the Island in the 70s it's a pity that the line wasn't kept.

I've seen thoughs signs at Hayling Seaside Railway so come down and see them at Beechlands. They're opposit the platform.
