How to make a hologram for international banker visa cards: Hire a bunch of genius scientists on tax payer money, without telling the public, to play with lasers in international underground lab until something you can't hack is created thus further solidifying your rule over the serfs.
@sketch2k I wonder why people always think most of anything?!... has anything to do with tax payer money?? It doesn't. Second, YES... that's exactly how it's done, in secret, in an 'underground lab' or else, it is not in secret, and so worthless for security applications. Everything can be hacked... eventually, it's a cat and mouse game. When visa came out I said, NO ONE WILL GO FOR IT, IT'S EVIL!!... but everybody loves them, so there you go.
hehe You commenters crack me up... I produce the most advanced and sophisticated holograms in the world, and you people can't understand how to make the most simple of plain image ones... I must be a god to you? But even as a god, I await attempts at insults... go!
@doceigen No. I just honestly don't understand it. What is holographic film, and why does this video act like you could find that lying around at Staples for $0.99? All I got from this video is. 'something with pointing lasers at an object and some film'
@trmdtv People used to be able to buy 'holographic film' at neighborhood photo supply stores which sold standard cameras and chemicals. Both Kodak and Agfa made it, and it was available on glass plates or as film in various sizes. NOW... they stopped production so you either have to find a supplier of exotic and expensive European or Russian films/plates and import it (or find a U.S. wholesaler). OR, like I do... you can make your own emulsions and mix your own developers, etc.
He spends most of his time on that...hope it's not so we can see the lasers cause yeah WE CAN SEE THE DAMN LASERS put the paper down and show us how to do this shi
i just watch holographic concert of hatsune miku on youtube and im so amazed by it. i really wonder how hologram can project such a cool 3D graphic. so i search for a video that explain how the hologram works. and i found this video. after watching this, a strange thought just enter my mind that telling me hologram is a science fiction. it does not exist at all. thanks to this inspirational video
This is the best of all holographic tech. I read with a futuristic processor it is possible to make these holograms into live action. For now they can only play recordings.
and that's why after almost 50 years they are still really expensive. but it's way more easy to understand if you just go to wikipedia and look at the pictures. this way you can see which way the laser is going.
@mikejamesbelanger Most of the weight of a holographic table is in the pedestal, which is usually some kind of concrete structure. The steel table tops are usually coupled to those 'blocks'. I use active damping to do so. The really good holograms are not so simple, they take translations between various formats of media, and usually robotic gear to physical move the set ups around... otherwise they are just 'still lifes', simple portraits of something, or one.
To understand how holograms are made, one really needs to understand the properties of coherent light; light with one definite wavelength, which is what a laser produces. When such a beam is split in two and then recombined, it can produce an "interference" pattern depending on the length of the paths the individual beams take. By using one part of the split beam as a reference and bouncing the other off of an object, you produce an interference pattern according to the shape of the object.
The first time I tried making a hologram, I forgot to take off the collimating lens, so I get a little dot when I developed it, woops. The second time I tried making a hologram, the picture never showed up. At all. It was a transmission hologram, on a vibration isolation table at my school, (it wasn't the vibration)... I'm not sure what I did wrong, but holographic film is expensive!
omg.. so the japanese are thinking about how to commercialise touchable 3d hologram.. discovery channel goes on and explain how little hologram stickers are made...?

@sweetangel0467 each line of the laser takes a slightly different angled image. The combined effect causes the image to reflect light back to your eyes at a different angle also, making it look 3D as you turn the image from side to side. As you turn the image from side to side, you are literally seeing the different angles shots cause by the laser. This is why just looking straight doesn't do much.
It would be impossible for these MORONS to come up with more irritating music. Effectively destroying a documentary or even Youtube video with devastatingly bad music is rapidly becoming more and more of an art form This is a masterpiece.
1:38 "..So it's made of the two point four times lot of steel we stress on haiti there too. The families are that's well insulated from wal mart rations"
This works because there is basically an entire two dimensional image at every point on the film, so when you look at the film, you see one "bit" of every 2D image on the film. The moment you move your head to a different place, you see a different set of 2D images, resulting in an actual 3D image, since the image changes depending on which angle you look at it.

@GamingBlitzDOTcom Actually, now that you mention it, go google "volumetric display". It's exactly what you mean, display based on this principle, except with different frames, which are able to display motion.
@AlanAssassin123 we had 3dtv 10 months ago. However he ment that we would use holograms instead of what we currently have so we wouldn't have to use 3d-glasses.
There's an awesome hologram gallery that's also a shop in central Amsterdam, Netherlands (Europe). I highly recommend checking it out if you're there on holiday.

There's an awesome hologram gallery that's also a shop in central Amsterdam, Netherlands (Europe). I highly recommend checking it out if you're there on holiday.
