great to b watching these country bumkins there ace its like living in the past thnks for putting these on its ppl like you make life good again it beats any rubbish on tv tday apart from wildlife autumn watch etc
'Merry Christmas dear Clampets' , you bring us much joy, thanks also to Michael for bringing it back all the way from the past. I'm watching this the second time here.
This BH Christmas episode is the very first episode of this show I ever saw. I was living in Brooklyn. It was around the late 80s or early 90s. I do remember it was a week or two after Christmas was over. A local drug store was having a clearance sale on all its Christmas themed products. Among them, videotapes of Christmas (public domain) episodes of various classic tv shows. I have always heard of Beverly hillbillies, but never got to see an episode until I bought that tape with 2 BH episodes.
@classicphile You must have been born a few years to late to see the show when it was actually running. It continued into the seventies. I'm glad you got the video tape; you have found some excellent titles over the years. Thanks for commenting. -Michael
@hwy61media Yep. I was born in 1969. So I was 2 years old when it went off the air in 1971. If it ever aired in syndicated reruns in my city around that time, I do not recall seeing it. In the mid-late 70s after I had grown up some and became a big watcher of tv, it never aired in syndicated reruns in my area. Not long ago, just to go on a trip down nostalgia lane, I went to eBay and bought a few TV guides (NY metro area) from those 1970s years. Sure enough, Beverly Hillbillies isnt listed.
@classicphile It's a shame that you didn't get to see the show earlier but you can't help when you were born, lol. I'm glad you enjoy them now :) -Michael
