As soon as I finished watching the movie I was like, "OMG! There's so much illuminati symbolism and the New World Order storytelling in this! Who else has seen all those subliminal messages?!?!" :O
I found Watchmen to be a boring film, not only was the plot not interesting to me, but the characters were pretty bland too, it didnt help that they tried to spice things up with random sex scenes and of course the infamous penis. Rorscach was pretty cool but he was trying too hard to be the cool one.
i dont understand why so many people are blasting this movie i thought it was BRILLIANT. Fantastically directed (much better than i expected considering it was Zack Synder) with some great scenes (opening montage, manhattan backstory etc.), some great performances especially from Jackie Earl Haley, it was faithful to the book and no fan could ask for it to be more faithful than it was. it could never fully match the book but it did one hell of a job

WARNING THIS MOVIE SUCKs!!!!!! they killed the best caracter and lasted 2 and half hours of totally boreingness....i didnt understand shit from the movie....and there are like 5 battle scenes in hole the movie and even thouse last like 2 min max......
I didnt understand it either .. haha I really wish i could get it explained to because im totally lost right from the beginning. Like what is that thing on his face and why does it move all the time ( the guy with the hat)
Obviously the aim of the movie flew over your head. They should write on the cover "for the mental ages of 16 and above" as you clearly couldn't see beyond the 'not enough actionz! this movie is sukz0rz!!!1!1!!!!! >=('

i saw the movie and holy shit was it bad
when i saw it i didnt knew anything about the book but fucking hell they killed the coolest character in the movie and all the heroes were all fucked in their mind all pychos imo the only one that well i guess you can call more human was the nerdy one that owned a fucking spaceship and and dam the blue guy sure liked to catch some air since he was always naked most of the times and was the sex scenes really necessary?
After watching this movie I came to the conclusion that hypothetically no matter how big the budget could've been or who could've directed it, it was never meant to be squeezed into a 3 hour movie.
this movies sux if you havent read any of the comics or no nothing about it whatsoever cause I'm one of those people who hasnt read the comics and the movie put me to sleep cause i didnt understand what was going on half the time and like i thought it was posed to be about super heros being murdered but wasnt there like only 1 murder at the very beginning and 1 more b4 that masked guy gets framed thats it? trailer is so misleading 2.
Agree with most of the points in the review, exept for the part about the choice of music, which I think hit spot on in drawing the overall picture and timeframe. Especialy the credit scenes at the beginning of the movie stands as some of the best I've seen in Hollywood cinema.
To my amazement, watching this movie in theater people complain of longggggg storytelling--3rd person perspective. In my experience, never seen a movie where people walk out after 50 min-1 hour. Some are sleeping, others are just eating. Gosh! This movie are for comic fans not for mainstream moviegoers. This movie appeals for western culture.
Agreed. I was really bummed that the characterization didn't get transferred over well, and pissed at all the stellar reviews claiming that it was a faithful adaptation. But otherwise they did alright. I just wish it wasn't so misrepresented in other reviews when I was looking for character depth from the movie.
well i still think the action was over the top, yeah you're right about why they picked the music, but i guess its just a personal thing, didn't work for me most of the time
oh yeah and by thew way there is no such thing as over the top action...just to make that clear and the song choice was to set the mood in the 80s and the 60s (in the flashbacks)
i was told to watch the movie then read the book so you wouldnt feel disappointed if they did miss a bit out or didnt do somehting... this is a good review and I LOVE THE MOVIE!!
i do agree that the sex scene went on a bit too long but i think the music was for comic relief... and i think some of the song choices were to portray the 80's more well.. but overall ur review was better than some of the crap dished out from other people who don't appreciate the art and moral complexity of this film
I liked the movie, but was sad to see many of my favorite scenes were edited out, such as the death of Hollis Mason, Bernard and Bernie, and Captain Metropolis. Hopefully, they will be added in the extended DVD release.
Just saw the film last night and IMAX and as well as I liked it as a faithful adaptation, it worked very well as a form of entertainment. Jackie Earle Haley's performance as Rorshach was certainly the highlight if the film and even with the new ending, I think it worked just as strong as the novel but I do prefer the original. Overall a great film.
fair enough, i think that is important to keep in mind. as i said in my review, though it seems we disagree, as a movie they made the changes needed to make it flow as a piece of entertainment.

This movie was terrible. Too many flashbacks, the team members made no sense.

I thought it sucked. Yes it was faithful to the novel but I wasn't judging it by that. i was judging it by a movie. And it wasn't good enough for me.
