I just want another zelda game aimed for teen audiences rather than children. nintendo has market mario to the kids, why cant they make a more mature styled zelda? im not saying it has to be rated M, im simply saying that they should break out of the kiddy bairiers, and give it a more mideval war feel to it. make another twilight princess styled zelda.
When they say they aren't trying to compete i think they mean similar to what GW2 says about not seeing WoW as direct competition, of course as the only true gaming company Nintendo will compete in gaming but just probably in their own way, with all the games announced to be coming to Wii U within the launch window there is no need to worry about whether they are stepping up or not, "actions speak louder than words"

So Nintendo has promised to make another SSB, correct? But yet they've also have said that the Wii U won't be able to play Gamecube games, which means no Gamecube controllers. I just hope they make a new, N64 type controller, yet more modern look to it so we can have a decent controller to play with when we play the new SSB.

seriously pokemon has to be the worst development progress of any game series. generation 1 was great and gen 2 added day night, clock, and daily events. gen 3 removed those new features like idiots and added nothing new. gen 4 continued to fail. never even touched gen 5, but youtube shows that it hasn't taken gen 2's great additions and added to it. and y do all the new games only have 8 badges and 1 area...lame. gen 2 was bigger and better than any of the new games. continued...
continued here... they should have kept day/night clock and daily events and added things like seasons and also they should have added other ways to play such as play as team rocket defactor to stop them or something. they didn't change anything up at all. @TheMontageMasters Look at Sega, they try different things and get back lashed at everything. But when they rehashed everything (Sonic Generations), everybody said it is Sonic's comeback. Also see how Mario galaxy got a 10/10 when it is just a rehashed of Mario Sunshine secret course parts. See how people bashed the Pokemon crossover when they don't get grey or SR remake? See how DMC get raged over? Rehashing seems to be good.
Regardless of Nintendo being in hot water, I'll buy the Wii-U at midnight release to show my loyalty to the company that saved gaming 25+ years ago and if Nintendo falls I'll have Nintendo tattooed on my right hand and the Triforce on my left.

The Only Way i will buy the Wii U and i mean Imeadiatley run to the store and Buy a WiiU is if they release a Full Fledged Console Pokemon Game. and make it like The Portable GB/DS Pokemon games where you can walk around and catch pokemon, train them, get Gym Badges and battle the Pokemon Leugue. and with the Wii U being more powerful than the PS3, and 360 they can do it with HD Graphics and online so we can battle.

PS3 and XBOX reaches out to all ages, not just teens and adults. Whereas Nintendo just want to focus on younger audiences and core gamers of 1st party games (e.g. Zelda, Mario, Smash Bros etc). They're terribly behind and the Wii U is only going to slightly catch up but there's still the issue of online MP, chat, and if it's useful for other things (DVD player, Blu-ray player, MP3, etc). I'm sad cuz Zelda and Mario are really the only reasons I have Nintendo systems. Else I'm on Xbox/PS3

my first system was the psx and later the ps2 and now the ps3, first handheld was the gameboy, gameboy advance, nintendo DS (psp looked nice but not really ''fun'')

@teddybruscie the wrd party games for the Wii are a joke compared to playing them on other systems. For ex, CoD games on Wii always got the short end of the stick and not one DLC. Why would I buy the game for the Wii then? To feel ignored? I even bought Star Wars Unleashed for the Wii cuz I thought motion control with lightsaber would be cool, but once I saw gameplay of it on PS3/Xbox, I felt ripped off. Nintendo is way too behind in supporting 3rd party games.
@Kitai105 As far as COD goes, the Wii can't do everything. We can't get DLC because of the Wii's power and even if we could there are other issues behind the scenes we don't know about. But they do the best they can. I can't play on the other consoles because I don't like sticks. I prefer wiimote.
But there are other 3rd party exclusives that are perfect on the Wii. Star Wars game didn't play well because it didn't have motion plus. If you play Red Steel 2 you will get perfect sword play.
@Kitai105 I should really talk about Exclusives because the ports are not going to be better. So exclusives is what I'm really talking about. No More Heroes is great, but it didn't sell as much as it should. So they ported it to PS3 for the Move. I don't know how successful it was but I don't think it was as successful as the Wii version.
But then you got Goldeneye on the Wii, not perfect but it was still a good game. And people that play the HD versions comeback to it often.
@teddybruscie the exclusives are all the Wii has in terms of appeal and it needs to break from that bubble. The real gamers are those in their early and late teens or are already adults like me. Nobody wants to play little kid games cuz we all know they suck. Reach for the ppl that actually has money, not those that need to get it from their parents, know what I mean?
@Kitai105 The games I'm talking about are not "little kids" games. Red Steel 2 rated T. No more Heroes is M, Same as Mad World. House of the Dead: Overkill had the world record for having the most curse words in any video game ever. The Mafia 2 beat it a year later. But then they came out with an HD version for PS3 for the Move so I'm sure it got it's spot back. There are alot of None kiddy games out there. And kids are playing and beating M rated games and kicking ass online on all systems.
@Kitai105 Well that's more of a 3rd party issue. Nintendo specifically tries to make games for everyone, not just one specific group. Which is why they won't take the photo realistic look for Zelda, because it won't be for everyone with such a look. So there will always be a stylized look for their games because they want it to appeal to everyone. HD or not, that's what they will do.
It's those 3rd party devs that make those "kiddy" games that have messed up Nintendo's "everyone" image.

seriously pokemon has to be the worst development progress of any game series. generation 1 was great and gen 2 added day night, clock, and daily events. gen 3 removed those new features like idiots and added nothing new. gen 4 continued to fail. never even touched gen 5, but youtube shows that it hasn't taken gen 2's great additions and added to it. and y do all the new games only have 8 badges and 1 area...lame. gen 2 was bigger and better than any of the new games. continued...

i Have said this before a Million Times and im going to say it again. The Only Way i will buy the Wii U and i mean Imeadiatley run to the store and Buy a WiiU is if they release a Full Fledged Console Pokemon Game. and make it like The Portable GB/DS Pokemon games where you can walk around and catch pokemon, train them, get Gym Badges and battle the Pokemon Leugue. and with the Wii U being more powerful than the PS3, and 360 they can do it with HD Graphics and online so we can battle.

PS3 and XBOX reaches out to all ages, not just teens and adults. Whereas Nintendo just want to focus on younger audiences and core gamers of 1st party games (e.g. Zelda, Mario, Smash Bros etc). They're terribly behind and the Wii U is only going to slightly catch up but there's still the issue of online MP, chat, and if it's useful for other things (DVD player, Blu-ray player, MP3, etc). I'm sad cuz Zelda and Mario are really the only reasons I have Nintendo systems. Else I'm on Xbox/PS3

my first system was the psx and later the ps2 and now the ps3, first handheld was the gameboy, gameboy advance, nintendo DS (psp looked nice but not really ''fun'')
the wii was awesome in the early days but after a while i found it boring to play with the wii with friends or something.... i really hope nintendo survives though, and if they dont, i hope they will partner with sony, i feel like MS is only for shooters and kinect these days... zelda on kinect? @teddybruscie the wrd party games for the Wii are a joke compared to playing them on other systems. For ex, CoD games on Wii always got the short end of the stick and not one DLC. Why would I buy the game for the Wii then? To feel ignored? I even bought Star Wars Unleashed for the Wii cuz I thought motion control with lightsaber would be cool, but once I saw gameplay of it on PS3/Xbox, I felt ripped off. Nintendo is way too behind in supporting 3rd party games.

@Kitai105 As far as COD goes, the Wii can't do everything. We can't get DLC because of the Wii's power and even if we could there are other issues behind the scenes we don't know about. But they do the best they can. I can't play on the other consoles because I don't like sticks. I prefer wiimote.
But there are other 3rd party exclusives that are perfect on the Wii. Star Wars game didn't play well because it didn't have motion plus. If you play Red Steel 2 you will get perfect sword play.

@Kitai105 I should really talk about Exclusives because the ports are not going to be better. So exclusives is what I'm really talking about. No More Heroes is great, but it didn't sell as much as it should. So they ported it to PS3 for the Move. I don't know how successful it was but I don't think it was as successful as the Wii version.
But then you got Goldeneye on the Wii, not perfect but it was still a good game. And people that play the HD versions comeback to it often.

@Kitai105 The games I'm talking about are not "little kids" games. Red Steel 2 rated T. No more Heroes is M, Same as Mad World. House of the Dead: Overkill had the world record for having the most curse words in any video game ever. The Mafia 2 beat it a year later. But then they came out with an HD version for PS3 for the Move so I'm sure it got it's spot back. There are alot of None kiddy games out there. And kids are playing and beating M rated games and kicking ass online on all systems.

@Kitai105 Well that's more of a 3rd party issue. Nintendo specifically tries to make games for everyone, not just one specific group. Which is why they won't take the photo realistic look for Zelda, because it won't be for everyone with such a look. So there will always be a stylized look for their games because they want it to appeal to everyone. HD or not, that's what they will do.
It's those 3rd party devs that make those "kiddy" games that have messed up Nintendo's "everyone" image.
