i have download the game from isohunt as my old CD is scratched and doesn't work anymore
the thing is that there is no progress in the game after hicktown 4 hint. Im pretty sure i have done what is required to move to the next stage, but nothing changes. Any idea guys would really appreciate the help.
@booha Hmm.. I just played the game from the beginning to find a solution to your problem. Are you sure you've built a "Drinking Den" (Do not upgrade it) and clicked on the tenant icon if you.. select the building? (The picture of a head with a 1 beside it). And make sure you've used the Gadget Factory to plant some trees around some of your business. If this doesn't work, it could be a glitch in the download, or something.
Is this game running on windows 7? I played it a long time ago. Now i want to buy it again, because i lost it, but i don't know if it's running on Win7. Thanks for help.
@Delikanli76 I'm pretty sure it does, becouse I've looked at a couple forums (some was in Dutch & Spanish, so I had to translate them) and most people are playing using Hamachi. Don't ask me how Hamachi works though, as I have never used it before.

@mellman6 I apologize. ^ ^' At this time I had no mic, however, I have one now, but it sounds crappy. Good news is, if you take a look at part 2, I found a program with better voices, so you can hear them MUCH better.
@mcoig If I remember right, they aren't that useful. Fun to watch them walk around and sing, though. The only thing I've found them usefull for is earning alittle extra cash by "killing" a client and put him inside an upgraded building. However, having a client in an upgraded building for too long might bring the cops around. So don't forget to get the client out soon enough. :3 Simply by "killing" or shooting him. ^ ^
and whenever i knock them out and put them in a building of my, they just get out and walk to another resident building in that block, and all they do is stress the tenants of that building out. thats why i usually put them in a rivals buildings.
but i didnt notice they were giving extra cash tho
@mcoig Well, yeah, they will walk out of the building, enter another, gets out of there and returns to the building you first put him in. But since this increases stress and Police Interest, it is not recommended. But yeah, maybe throw them into the Rivals Buildings, I haven't thought of that myself, actually. Oh well, when you click the client and he starts singing, is probably one of the things I remember the most from Street Wars, for some reason.. XD
hmm yeah putting these guys in blocks with upgraded buildings give indeed cash, and even more over time. i didnt knew that because i just got the game ^^
now im stuck at the part in the tutorial where you put the cop patrol cones in your streets.
i do that and that other thing where you have to bribe the rival AND i build level 2 buildings, but the game just doesnt progress. i dont get a message from the guy who tells you what to do : /
I still have this game. It was so awesome. For the life of me I cannot get it to work on WinXP. I'm sad. Every time I try and run it, even in different compatibility modes, and installed fully it says "wrong disc inserted"
@AlbertWesky321 I just downloaded it from your second video and it works fine... Odd. Now I just need fraps or something to capture the mission end radio thingys, as theyre quite amusing
@dctim I'm not sure if Fraps works. So be ready to try out more screen recorder programs. I'm trying to find one for the third gameplay video so you can view the video better instead of having a small screen. XD
@AlbertWesky321 I tried it. It didnt work. Maybe I'm just rubbish with fraps. Either way. I'm stuck on Dead Dog Ditch 4. I cant build any night clubs. I've taken over the enemy's one but I cant build any more and the mission says it has to be in YOUR part of town. Did you get the same problem?
So you've taken over the enemies night club? If so, sell the night club you got on the enemies part of town. But make sure you've saved up alot of money, becouse it might get expensive. You can build your own night club now. So in YOUR part of town, sell a buisiness that you don't care that much about. And build a night club there. I haven't tried this myself yet, so I don't know if this works.
@AlbertWesky321 I tried other ways round like restarting levels etc. It didnt work. I checked my disc too and its got a dried on gunk on it, maybe thats why it doesnt work.
@dctim Sorted. I started again and this time it all worked. I finally completed it today and have save points right before all of the end of level cut-scnes :D
a small note about the videos... they are old .FLIC video files that cannot run on xp/vista, which is pretty much all the videos except the character portrait ones. There is some way of making them work in DOSbox, but dunno how you could get street wars (mob rule was the US release name) to run in that.
Playing a network game would be pretty cool........
I have no idea, have you tried to click on my video response to this video and used the link in the description there to download the game from Old-cans?
Still, I love it's two dimensional graphics, they are beautifully drawn and the dark, spooky, cruel yet hilarious atmosphere in the world of street wars.

Yeah, I wish they'd make more for Street Wars. I wonder why no-one had posted any Gameplay videos. Well, I had a hard time finding a program to record it with. Finally when I found one, it was good, except for the small screen.
@EADiogo Well, That's a tricky one, I have the same problem. But I have some things that may be it. Maybe the computers are too "new". So, you might need older computers, running it on Windows 95 or 98. Well, I'm trying to dig for more information, but this game isn't very well-known so it's hard to find information about it. ^^'
Both parts differs strongly. In first Constructor we build and play almost without limist. In Street War we must complete missions, so we haven't big freedom.
Hmm, I haven't played the first Constructor that much. But I see the difference. Well, Street Wars is still a good game. But they could've thrown in like.. Free Building mode or something. X_X
Well, I found a thread. Could THIS be something (note it says: 1.1, there might be later versions of swc)
go to the swc directory... check the version ( it has to be latest like 1.1 or something ) then go to the 3d map and open the dll file and let me know what it is there.. if everything there is allright then it just to press network play if you already have installed the game on both computers or more.. and then if you have set them togheter with the netcard cables.. it should work guys!
shure id like 2 see ya do more vids...but try to use a microphone to talk and a voice masking thing...some programs will probibly work... but anyway. yah make more vids...
Yes, but right now I'll have to use these... robotic-voice kinda programs. I found my mic but I think something's broken with it. When I use it people don't hear anything. I'm trying to get a new one. And I'm working on a continue on the Street Wars game. This time we go to the more advanced things in the game. Like how to make a Gangster, how to fight the enemy, etc ^_^

you cant kill them, only knock them out

If you got any problems, send me a message. However, videos in the game have been removed for some reason.
If you want to play the game with videos and all that, I'm afraid you'll have to go with a torrent!
