  • Nice car, nice jump, awful music!

  • @jausher So you meant to say "I dont like that music". So next time I make a video, I should use a song YOU like? right?

  • Awesome - Note the smiles in the cab - green eyes as anything!

  • didnt know anyone out here in new mexico had the money for shit like this! thats awesome. Hope to see you guys out there sometime.

  • everyone should just stop bitchin

  • That thing has to have enough torque to pop wheelies and enough power to rip itself apart.

  • i have jumped my fait uno further than that

  • @defetz123

    youre a fuckin douchebag

  • Love the headset. Lookin like pilots. Might as well, flyin right?

  • fucking bad!!!

  • now thats a beefy four link

  • hey, i built that car! lol....well, parts of it anyways :)

  • dude wat the fuck 850 hp thats just silly lol

  • I don't understand why all sand rail owners can't be like this. If they're going to buy a $100,000 sand rail, just invest a couple grand in good cameras and actually make good videos, lol, not some shakey noisy video taken from your $80 still camera put in to video mode then zip tied to the dash....

  • there are only three words you can say after having a go in one of those, "i want one!"

  • 850

  • damn just listen to that engine purr. i love that sound

  • that, is a nice sandrail, did you build it or buy it?

  • He bought it at Walmart.

  • @MrBmxRacer

He had it built to spec from tatum. Its not mine, i was filming

  • big fun, thats a nice sandrail

  • holy

    crap!

that thing is unreal! wicked rail dude!

  • i wish we still had money to have toys :( damn the economy

but sick rail by the way

  • wtf are you talking about if you want something you should buy it now not after the economy goes back to normal. this time is time to buy =D

  • lol the "economy"

  • start a business... lots of markets are still thriving in this "economy"

  • tatums are sick we have one

  • how much pounds of boost is that rail putting out

  • do it, it would probably rip the rubber paddles off when u floor it andit wud be a bare tire though but nnice rail i wish i become rich like u one day and make my own XD, oh yeah if u dont mind me asking what is ur job/career

  • He has paddles. For the sand. Check out my other videos. Theres a 10 minute ride along in this car at the dunes. With Paddles

  • @slurpy911 Drugs

  • put paddles on this beast

  • lol.

  • wow fermilliar terrotory. i used to rail it up at the puerco when i lived in albuquerque. now im in indianapolis. oh how i miss the dunes. and the cows!lol

  • what kind of mounting camera is that? it handled the landing pretty good!

  • Nice black widow

  • OOPs, I just dated myself. I meant to say, I have been off roading for several yrs. Ok, Ok, I confess, I am an old lady. Get my walker and my Chenowth and I am good to go. I also need my teeth, If dinner is more than applesauce. :)

  • I have been off roading in NM for 30 yrs and I have no Idea where you guys are. It looks like a totally sweet jump. It is a totally sweet car too. A few people say its at the end of southern. If so, roughly how far is it past the end of the pavement. LOL I must find that jump! Good Day !! Ms. Shannon

  • who is the song by, does anyone know?

  • transglobal underground

  • thanks owlsworld!, I looked for a bit but couldn't find the song anywhere.

  • nice rail!!!!!!!!

  • man i wish i had that kind of money

  • i have watched this video many times, it gets better every time. i just cant jump in this buggy i scares the crap out of me lol. my dad drives this to crazy for me :P

  • is that on the back side of windmill hill at the end of southern?

  • Yep

  • what a gay ass faggy song!

  • ride looks sick. suspension look so soft!

  • that car has too be worth 110,000.that car is sick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Tatum is a force to be reckoned with in the sand community. Super well made cars and the black widow is one of their premiums cars. So everyone hatin on this incredible machine is an idiot.

  • Man I have hit jumps on dirt bikes, mt. bikes, snowboards, but I have yet to hit a jump in a car/rail I can't even imagine what it feels like!

  • how much would it cost to make one of those

  • The video? free

    The Buggy $100k

  • It all depends on how much you outsource. If you're a fantastic fabricator and engineer, you could build something identical to that for $20,000. If you have someone else do it (as owlsworld mentioned), it will cost you a lot more. You could build something that isn't quite that powerful pretty cheap though. There are many companies that sell partial kits for sand rails and dune buggies (usually utilizing air cooled VW engines). Buying second-hand you can get them for dirt cheap.

  • The transmission in this car cost 15k. You wont be building a twin turbo tatum black widow for 20,000. But nice try. These cars used go for 75-120k. try and jump your air cooled VW 75ft and see what happens

  • Wow, $15K? Someone got royally reamed in the rear. There are several Porsche trans-axles out there right now that can be picked up for under $3500 that will easily handle that much power in stock form. I'd like to see you try to jump that 75 feet. You probably don't even realize how high that is. That's like a seven or eight story building. Not gonna happen. I don't have an air-cooled VW of any sort, but provided it had the proper suspension, it could match what this is doing.

  • You are clueless. The Mendeola sequential transmission is built on the Porsche platform. The jump you are watching was 75ft long. If you think you can build an identical car for 20,000 you are a moron as well. And your $3500 transaxle wont handle this kind of power. Do some research first skippy. try google

  • Okay, 75 feet long is a bit different. I misinterpreted that. That jump is not even close to being 75 feet long though. More like 40 feet. Yes, a $3500 trans-axle can and will hold that kind of power (and with traction too, not just on the sand). There are powers out there far greater than just Google. I stand by the fact that you could build a rail with identical capabilities as that for $20K. I get the feeling someone just realized they paid way too much for a toy and now have a sore wallet.

  • Well let me know when you get your $20,000 rail put together and We'll get a race going. maybe you should try hatertube, might be more your speed.

Its not even my car. 80k is a base price. you should refrain from commenting about stuff you dont know about. A Built Bus (091) transmission will get you to about 350hp. Not to worry though, your air cooled VW will be putting out only 105hp.

  • Will do. I wasn't talking about a built bus tranny. I was talking about Porsche trans-axles like the G50. It's not VW, but still air (and oil) cooled with a couple extra cylinders and some turbos tacked on.

  • just for the record i watched him hit this jump 2 weeks ago. it is around 75 feet that he's going. it's the same hill me and my friends jump dirt bikes on, and on the other hand you're talking out your butt about being able to buy or build a sandrail like this for 20 grand

  • 20,000 haha. you have no idea. Not even close. I bet that motor cost $20000

  • That car costs about $80K new. Owlsworld said the tranny cost $15K, and now you say the motor probably cost $20K. So far we're at $35K. When you throw in all the other resources, along with the man-hours, the price would be too high for the company to make a decent profit.

  • an aircooled VW homebuilt by you doesnt hold a candle to this car. Right off the bat, I see: $5000 in shocks, $30,000 in Drivetrain, and $8,000 in suspension components. You need to take a ride in a broke ass VW, then a buggy of this caliber. not on the same level at all. lol

  • I don't have an air-cooled VW. I already said that. With prices that high, it wouldn't be economically viable for a company to produce such a vehicle once you've factored in the other costs. I have ridden in said vehicles and I know the difference. But if said VW-powered vehicle has a properly set-up suspension, it will be capable of taking similar jumps without being damaged.

  • Well there you go. Now youre singing a new tune. First you said you could build an identical one for $20,000. Now you say you can build one that wouldnt get damaged for $20,000. Tatum DOES build these cars and obviously they have turned some kind of profit or they wouldnt be in business. peace

  • You're not getting it. My tune is staying the same, but there is both a harmony and a melody. They're different but they're in the same tune. But considering you've only "seen" schools, I'll assume you wouldn't know anything about that. Go back through, read it again and work on your reading and comprehension.

  • We all get it. youre singing a load of crap. you did say you could build an identical one for $20,000. Now youre resorting to the age old youtube practice assuming peoples education level. Are you going to correct peoples spelling after this? "you could build something identical to that for $20,000" A "properly tuned suspension" that could handle what this tatum can handle wont be fetched with your budget

  • That last post of mine was a reply to utvforums. If you look at his/her/their channel, under the "Schools" section it says "I seen them." I realize that this is supposed to be humorous, but it was left wide open for attack since it implies that the writer didn't go to school. I won't correct your spelling, but you do need to work on your apostrophe usage. It's quite poor. You also misquoted me. If I may just say, I said you could build this for $20K, not buy it for that price.

  • That is a very nice machine. I'm very jealous.

  • me too

  • Where are you driving this buggy in New Mexico and how big is the area to ride? I would like to know because I live in NM, and am interested in riding there.

  • At the Rio Puerco area at the end of Rio Rancho

  • yeah. they're just sittin there and then the driver thinks "hi mom!" was gonna wave but realized he wus in the air. lol all casual and shit

  • WOW that thing sounds sweeeeeeeeet.

  • what song?

  • wtf? a sandrail with 4 seats and windshield?

  • welcome to the new millenium.

  • oooo:))

  • yeah..floss mode baby!!

  • love the desert tires. so fun

  • Thats awesome, I've been to that same hill about 6 times, too bad I wasn't there when you were. Nice rail!!!

  • Nate is too fast

  • badas. See you in GLamis

  • badass!. I want one? Where is that in New Mexico ?

  • wow!
