Willemijn is awesome as Elphaba! I saw her last week in Oberhausen with Anton Zetterholm as Fiyero - I hab goose bumps when they sang "As Long As Your Mine". Willemijn has such a passionate voice and she truly lives the role of Elphaba.

WOW this made my day!! I saw it in Stuttgart In May of 2009! I saw Willemijn, Valerie Link (alternate Glinda) and Julia De Aquino as Morrible (RIP)! I loved how the monkeys actually fly over the audience! This production has so much energy compared to other productions (imo)!

By the way, it has been decided by now that Willemijn will definitely reprise the role of Elphaba in Oberhausen, which is really good news! I honestly can't imagine a better Elphaba than her, and I've seen loads of videos and also some life performances of others...

And I agree that the differences coming with the translation are really interesting! Overall, the English original of course beats the translation, but there are some very poetic parts in the German version as well... :)

I love foreign languages and I think Willemijn is THE COOLEST person for being fluent in Dutch, German AND English! You can't really hear her accent here, and in German interviews they've complemented her on her German!

willemijn is my favourite elphaba, and indeed was the reason i WENT to stuttgart, but when i went there, i had her understudy roberta valentini (she was phenomenal though)
