The ACC Refs are the WORST in the nation. People act like it's tough playing in the SEC. Try dealing with those zebras every week, when you are FSU! We have the biggest reason to go to the SEC now. Our refs had to review every damn call in this Miami game. Every one. They cost FSU 2 TD's with reverses on the fumbles. Just a disgrace. I don't know where they find these idiots.
Just FYI, the ACC investigated and the ref himself admitted he moved it. As an FSU fan, it didn't seem sinister. Incorrect, but I doubt it was on purpose. He just wasn't holding the ball correctly.
And luckily, at the end of the day, it didn't end in a WF first down, so it didn't actually matter in the end.
@encycl07pedia It ended in a first down on the very next play. The commentators stated "They needed 6 inches and got 7".. It wasn't a game changer but come on. The reason the ref holds the ball is to ensure it doesn't move. So he admitted it after irrefutable evidence was posted on the internet. "I didn't mean to" sure sounds like the obvious choice over "Damn you caught me!"
The fist pump sums it all up. To think they pulled the chains on the next play and they made the first by an inch to get the first and retain possession.
financially it wouldn't make sense for the acc to hedge their bets against fsu. unless those 12 or 13 wake fans are responsible for bringing in millions of dollars to the acc. but those refs should be investigated
Anyone catch the Clemson-BC game and some of ACC's finest refs? I didn't realize that being knocked over by a blocker on the kick return team, being picked up by your pads, then being thrown onto the ground again resulted in a penalty against the kicking team. I guess he shouldn't have resisted the shaking, since apparently laying on the ground is a personal foul.
on the Clemson game it was also reported that there was an unusually high number of penalties called against FSU. Three of which were pass interference calls that the ACC said that should have never been called against FSU and those resulted in 21 points for Clemson. We are beating ourselves with turnovers, but it doesn't help that the refs are also beating us by making terrible calls against FSU on the field. I for one would not mind at all if FSU left the ACC for the SEC or another conference
@wahoowa22334 it was posted on warchant.com last week. After every game the ACC sents a review of the officiating officials to the respective schools.
Yep, more fsu fans bitching about the refs...who are pushing the fucking ball forward as the chains approach...not sayin we would have won had this not happened, not saying we've played well enough to be a top 25 team. But if this shit is going on, how much is going on play by play that hasn't been caught? This kind of officiating is indefensible. Corruption or incompetance, either way its bullshit that this is happening at all
Yes because its in the best interest for FSU to suck and make the ACC look bad. Im sure the ACC wants WF to represent the ACC and have all 1200 fans pour in money at the ACC Championship game. Makes perfect sense. Or maybe FSU is just overrated every year and no matter how many 5 stars they get they will always underachieve. Seems a bit more realistic than some conspiracy theory against poor little fsu.
@drayton10af Really not sure what any of your rant has to do with the fact that you just watched a ref move a football. I mean, I haven't seen a single FSU fan claim that we're an outstanding team under this video. We get it. We have disappointed mightily this season. In other, completely unrelated news . . . A REF MOVED A FUCKING BALL. Get your head out of your ass. Regardless of what the score was or who was playing . . . the ref legitimately moved the ball.
I was at this game as a (somewhat) neutral fan. There was another instance that I was expecting to see in this video where the ball was spotted by the SJ, inches over the first down mark, then another ref walked over before the chains came out and slid it back 6 inches or so. Wake missed the first down by about 4 inches.
Both instances are careless at best, suspicious or corrupt at worst.
This is not surprising. I have been an NC State fan my entire life. Ever watch an NC State basketball game? It becomes quite evident that the commissioner was from the rival school in a matter of minutes. For as long as I can remember I have been watching a corrupt and rigged ACC.
This has been happening for years. (The most egregious being the free touchdown given to UVa in 2005 for FSU's first "loss" in the ACC). A bigger concern is the absolute refusal to call holding on FSU opponents.
Typical ACC officiating. We have some of the most corrupt refs we deal with in the entire ACC. You want to see phantom calls on one team while blatant ones are ignored on the other, then watch an ACC game.
sad as it is those 2 inches he moved it cost us a touchdown.. which would have gave us the game. We still deserved to lose though we should have blown them out.
@Ccola3 those 2 inches did not end up giving them a first down. It was still measured short. The next play looked like it was stopped cold, but they spotted them a first. ACC refs at it again. The worst in college sports.
This should warrant an investigation, an actual investigation not one where Swofford says the officials are "okay." ACC officials really are the worst in college football. You don't do this ESPECIALLY when they're MEASURING for a first down. 5 turnovers lost us the game without a doubt, but these officials are horrible and this action deserves repurcussions.
@benwallace3a I feel like regardless of what team you're affiliated with, you can't deny hard evidence of cheating. You literally just watched the fucking ref move the ball. This isn't an FSU issue, it's a college football issue. Truly disgusting.
I'm shocked to actually see that. Like . . . seriously?! I'm a realist and I know we should've played well enough to beat Wake backwards and forwards to the point where refs should have no bearing on the outcome . . . but how the fuck does the ACC defend that bullshit?!
This hurts...can't we have at least one game, win or lose, where the refs don't try to screw us. I'm not saying that we would have won with different refs, I just wish our boys had a fair chance.
Hahahaha what a fail. I didn't catch it at first, but yep, sure enough he's sliding that thing just as fast as he can
