The achilles heel of Ron Paul. he is talking about the 1960s when health care costs were feasible and affordable. Now, it can run you into debt for three or four lifetimes. Fiat money is a system of conquer and divide and it is a barbaric evaluation of value. The Austrian school blames the wrong perpetrators (the working poor) for draining our treasury and waisting our tax payer money. Some states like Massachusetts offer universal healthcare, Paul should keep on state powers with this issue.
People don't understand, you can't *force* people to be "good". This whole thing is projected by (neo?) "liberals" who's guilty conscience makes them project their emptiness upon all of society. I wouldn't leave someone bleeding in the street; and only someone who *would* would project the idea that we need a law enforcing "goodness". Everyone should be taken care of, but passing these laws only empowers the government, not the citizens.
Everyone has the opportunity to become wealthy. We live in a country that provides an environment where innovation, diligence, and hard work is rewarded because of capitalism. Michael Moore is a hypocritical socialist that has prospered from capitalism.
@ElisabethLovesMusic In all fairness that's not really true. We have the illusion of the opportunity to become wealthy. Corporations have the ability to shut entrepreneurs down. It also takes money to make money. Not everyone has the ability to get the capital to create a business.
@Lovetto314 You are correct. It takes money to make money. The reason it takes so much money to make money is because the government(federal, state, and local) stand with their hands out and charge you to start a business or pretty much do anything. Like Paul said, this is not capitalism, it is not a true free market. So, Moore's grips against capitalism are misguided. He preaches more of what cause the problems he stands against (government intervention).
@ElisabethLovesMusic That is a bald faced bullshit fucking lie. Everyone has the opportunity,..you fucking Ann Randers should read The Great Gatsby. America is not innovative it is a mass production sheeple nation. My father showed due diligence in a coal mine and he barely made a living. hard work is not rewarded for the majority of people. I know you think these are just words you are spouting, but I would hang all of you stupid pigs.if you talked like at a miner's strike youd get bludgeoned.

@capitanaguamala Ron Paul and Michael Moore are equally patriotic, sincere, intelligent and having the right initiative, but the difference is that Ron Paul is wiser, and Michael Moore is confused.
@jamesmoocn what I wanted to say is that Ron Paul knows how politics work, the practicality of an idea. Moore is more an idealist and idealist thought is sometimes a bit utopic, nonviable but that does not make it wrong.

@gamegeek2 WRONG the governments job is not to "protect all aspects of life" so in this case it would be ok for them to mandate eat u eat? Or force a vaccine cause "they" claim their "protecting" us? once again the governments job is to protect the people FROM TURANNY AND PROTECT THE CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS OF THE COUNTRY, it's in the constitution,
so to have a free market we need to destroy large corporations or else we can't have fair competition in the markets. how can you split up huge corporations Ron? you can't we're fucked. Status-quo 2012!!

"Just quit this militarism around the world", well sad Ron! For an old man you got pretty fresh views, I can only add that American ppl can only benefit from you in the government
"If people let government decide what foods they eat and what medicines they take, their bodies will soon be in as sorry a state as are the souls of those who live under tyranny." - Thomas Jefferson
People's health should not be a product of the free market, when people's health are determined by profit, people will only be taken care of when there is an opportunity to make money from them. People with no $ have been turned away for healthcare I don't see Canadians, British and French complaining about the quality of their healthcare because it's free. (Probably the only policy of Ron Paul I disagree with) I do agree with him that USA is not in a position to provide it at this time. : )
I think half the people who hate Ron Paul have never actually listened to anything he's said, so when it comes time to argue with him they just end up in an awkward "man he's right" kind of stage. It's fuckin funny.
You have a right to your life. Yes, and what protects your life? Government security and military power - isn't that "someone else's services" too? I call myself a left-libertarian because I believe that the government's responsibility is to protect life, liberty, and property - no matter if the life is from germs or from gunners.
Obama idolized the Cleveland Clinic -- the Clinic recently closed the trauma unit in the poor part of Cleveland because it lost money -- the neighborhood is now without trauma care and has the most trauma care need. Ron Paul has the right idea...
How can I ask Dr. Paul a question? I wonder if he thinks the failure of Argentina's economy wasn't due to unregulated capitalism but unregulated corporatism. What do you think?
Its a generalization statement about the people who vote in America. If your a liberal and disagree with all his policies your still not an idiot but when someone like this comes along and inspires everyone even me as a canadian I think people need to listen more to him. The media and the people have not looked at Pauls policies in the past 30 years. Not much has changed in terms of his policies or credibility:)
@Reido2828 i am a conservative, and while Ron Paul would be better then the current occupant of the White house, his views on Radical Islam frankly scare the shit out of me. He clearly knows nothing about the history, culture, and Ideology of these people. Now if he changes mind, and really studies the things i mentioned he'll really see why he was wrong, or he can just Militant and Misinformed
that the only reason? You see America is safer with its soldiers on its own borders:) Radical Islam is a threat BUT many of Ron Pauls foreign policy ideas come from ex CIA men who were suppose to hunt and kill bin laden. You have to do the research and you have got to know your own countries history. There is a reason why Radical Islam and the muslim is the way they are. Its not just because of the US I know but a lot of it is. And his stance on immigration is simple but strong
@Reido2828 yes, but they aren't the way they are because of what the US has done in that area. And believe me i have done my history, that is why i also heavily disagree with Ron Paul's stance on non-interventionism. and if yo want to argue that, i will need more then just a comment. And No if our troops are in Iraq and Afghanistan, The Wahhabists and Iran can't do shit, it's tile thing called Strategy. check out Bill Whittle's video on Memebusting
I disagree with everything you had said there. All of it because what you speak of is there is no evidence for it. Iran has been trying to build a bomb for over 20 years now. What your saying is why the US is in such bad shape. The wars must end because people are dieing and the Islamic world is finding it easier to recruit new members for radical groups. Look up MIchael Sheur or w.e and he will explain to you why the wars are actually hurting the US. You seem veyr right wing
@Reido2828 well at least you didn't call me a Neo-con, that is a first for a Ron Paul supporter. There has not been a successful terrorist attack on American soil since 9/11. That is not just a coincidence, and yes Iran is building a bomb, but if we are both its borders, it dosen't matter if it has a bomb, they will not be able to use it. by the way i am also for the legalization of Pot and school choice, so i am not very far right.
I won't say there not nor that they are. We simply don't know. That is the truth. Ron Paul is very up to date with world events and much more so then the rest of the candidates. Its cool to be right man. Liberal thinking is something that is poisonous lol and for good reason. Why do you think iran is building a bomb?
@Reido2828 What we do know is that there have been over 130 attempts by certain terrorist groups according to he CIA (though i don't know the exact number i know its somewhere between 130 and 180) And i don't expect a president to know everything. Just like CEO's don't know everything, they have specialized advisers who give them suggestions and then they make informed decisions bases on them. I like a president that can admit that they don't Know everything. and that's something they all do.
@Reido2828 as for Iran, those mother fuckers are going to start WW3, and even the people know it. how ever if we do invade Iran, which might happen in the near future, the UN can finally create a state of Kurdistan
@Reido2828 i have a few Kurdish friends from Iran and part of Iran is in what could be Kurdistan. Iran is gain allies left and right (such as NK and Venezuela) their leader says he wants the Zionist "regime" to end, (so basically he wants the destruction of Israel) Now when i say they i mean there government, and i'm not saying they are planning on it, but they are trying to become a nuclear power, and they are run by a radical religious philosophy, personally, i think its only a matter of time.
The country is so weak. This is another problem conservatives and the US media fail to understand. The country is weak, inner fighting is huge there and we have the president of that country who is trying to take power away from the ayatollahs. Iran is not much of a threat because they have no army or navy and haven't initiated any sort of war or provocative action towards any other nation so we will not invade them. Another thing Iran know Israel would wipe them out in minutes

Isnt goverment funding increasing prices in our military too. And so is that unquestionable? Education, Health Care and Health Research invesment come pretty close to the Natianal Defense level of priority, but they're no so good movie material.
Ron Paul is stupid capatalism leads to a monopoly because its easier to own all your compedetors and buy the free market its only when goverment moderatly controles the free market that this dosent happen
its increcdible how right wingers remove facts from debate. The military is one Entity. Look @ the cost of the war; notice how its going up. Please do explain exactly where you retreived your information; that proofs the military makes a profit. Let me save you time from pulling it out your rectum. IT doesn't exist because they don't earn a profit. They don't sell the weapons, they buy them. They don't buy Military supplies, they buy them. Look guy, stick to playing video games.
What people need to realize is that the decision for no Government is more Corporation inviolvement, or takeover. Ask yourself, the Military doesnt earn a profit and does a great job. Corporations are in business, a business to maximize profit. when it comes to your or your children's health. Which would be better? Government or corporation controlled healthcare? That is the real decision and there is no other option.
@hodmaster1 Of course the military earns a profit? What kind of fucking dribble none-sense is this? You think soldiers, generals, captains, arms developers, military contractors, and technology developers don't make up the army? The army isn't one entity, its made up of people.
we are going nowhere until we can admit that left and right are the same entities, designed to divide us and pit us against each other in order to keep us confused and hungry for cheap plastic garbage
Ron Paul has great idea's but can't present them because a solution to a complex problem often requires time to explain, and no one is interested in thinking. It's all about short bullshit rah rah rah snippits of 'WE'RE THE SHIT!!!!! GOD LOVES AMERICA, GOD LOVES YOU, GOD LOVES ME'. What a waste of someone that could really create positive change.
@sumskater999 Wow, and all this time I thought you left wingers were the party of peace and love, tolerance, pluralism, and open mindedness. Thanks for proving you're as hypocritical as I thought.
@tripleheshy We are that party. That's exactly why I hate most Republicans: because they're against civil liberties.
Supporting Euthanasia is as open-minded as you can be. But you Republicans only see things in terms of life and death, no matter how terrible life is for that person.
@sumskater999 No, you are the party that started the KKK. You are the party who wrote, enacted and enforced Jim Crow laws. You voted AGAINST the 64' civil right bill (Al Gore sr, Robert Byrd). You are the party who marched thousand of Cherokee's to death through the trail of tears. You are the party who illegally invaded Mexico starting the Mexican/American war. You are the party who bombed buildings through the 60's U of Wisconsin, Bill Ayres etc. Yes, you are that party. Part 2...
@tripleheshy Is that why the KKK is a FAR-RIGHT Protestant group? Seriously? If that's your argument, you SHOULD be a Democrat. I would be a Republican if this was 1860, but the GOP has gone a LONG way from then. It was DEMOCRAT John Kennedy who called for the Civil Rights bill of 1964 and DEMOCRAT Emmanuel Celler who strengthened it. This was actually in the FIFTH Party System, when TODAY's politics can be compared to those ideals. Sure Lincoln was a Republican, but today he'd be a Democrat.
@sumskater999 There wouldn't even BE a KKK today were it not for a few Democrat, confederate soldiers. JFK today would be a Republican in comparison to today's Democrats. Lowering the capital gains tax, which JFK did, is something today's Democrats wouldn't even dream of doing. They're doing the polar opposite. Nice try claiming Lincoln as one of yours. He isn't and never will be. The Democrat party died with JFK. Period.
@tripleheshy There would be another far-right organization JUST LIKE the KKK. Those Democrats were CONSERVATIVES. Today, conservatives align with Republicans and liberals align with Democrats. Eisenhower, Lincoln, and JFK were all liberal, Democrat or Republican.
From 1955 to 1969, the capital gains tax rate was consistently 25%. JFK cut the INCOME tax rates, and that was because they were RIDICULOUSLY high at over 90% on the rich, and he only brought them down to 77%.
@tripleheshy But if by a "Liberal" they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people -- their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights, and their civil liberties -- someone who believes we can break through the stalemate and suspicions that grip us in our policies abroad, if that is what they mean by a "Liberal," then I'm proud to say I'm a "Liberal."
@sumskater999 ...You are the party that sent my grandfather to WWI, my father to WW2, 2 uncles to Korea, 3 uncles and 2 cousins to Vietnam and then called them baby killers. Yes, you are that party. You proclaim to be humanitarians yet you and your party have sent more Americans to their death through war than any other party in this nations history. And lastly, you love civil liberties so much you stop at nothing to overturn the second amendment.
@tripleheshy Random acts of terrorism-do Republicans not kill abortion doctors? Are Christian terrorist organizations not far-right?
"We" started those wars because of the neo-conservative view that dominates our foreign policy to TODAY. No Democrat would ever remain in office if he refused military aid in any of those wars, thanks to right wing pressure. Republicans feel we ALWAYS need to spend money on military, but not on our own people. And when did Wilson or FDR call ANYONE a baby-killer?
@sumskater999 *facepalm* When oh when will you ever take responsibility for anything you do?? Woodrow Wilson's pledge not to engage US forces in WW1 was but a lie and eventually sent them (with the help of a D majority in the Congress) but somehow someway it just has to fall back to those evil NEO CONS!!! I swear you people are so utterly childish with your "It's not our fault they made us do it" BS. No wonder every electoral landslide is always a D getting thrashed by a R. Wait till 2012.
@tripleheshy I'm aware of Wilson's entry into WW1. But you're just bullshitting when you say they showed any disrespect for armed forces.
It does fall back on the neo-cons. Clinton wouldn't have engaged in more than half his military operations if it wasn't for the Republican pressure he had to appease.
The reason Republicans SHOULD always win landslides is because 44% of the country is conservative and only 36% is liberal. It's TRULY pathetic that you don't win EVERY election with that support.
@tripleheshy Of course Republicans go nuts over the second amendment. We Democrats believe that if a law is killing people because of criminals, it PROBABLY should be AMENDED, not overturned. When that amendment was originally designed, guns had to be re-loaded after every bullet. Somehow, I don't see George Washington, John Adams, or Thomas Jefferson approving of citizens carrying automatic rifles.
Micheal Moore is my hero. He should expand his work more into assisting real journalists and involve in their training schools rising in social networks. So more issues can be penetrated by so many people with electronic speed of researches.
@beancube2010 You should look into Moore's shady campaign support history! The guys is a backstabber, a habitual liar, and only serves his own selfish motives in everything he does. If he is your hero, you should learn a lot more about him.
Ron Paul will get my vote even though I won't cave in to his gold standard obsession and lack supports to our new generations of real health service workers. Real health service workers need our community's help and organization frameworks. We must really rethink about those corporation middle men draining away our invaluable resources and efforts.
stop just watching the damn videos!!!!!!!!!! go read up on people views. thats why we are in war cuz we just watch mainstream media a believe whatever they say......
dam first thing iv ever disagred with on ron paul, if went too france, Australia uk he would see that public hospitals are better than nothing an if private health insurance was banned you would find that public hosbitals would be better than private an n Australia public is being destroyed an private is becoming stronger which is very sad so were going too end up like America leaving our poor too die
ron paul is a true intellect and is genuine, rational-thinking person. michael moore is an insane hard left-wing america hating commie who should be deported out of this country asap for treason
Ron Paul is the only Republican candidate worth listening too. A real economical intellect with a keynsian outlook on the world.
I respect him and Michael Moore equally, but both will never be given a shot at leadership because they actually want to change the system in their own ways.
They'd both run very different governments... but either way would be superior tot he corrupt middleground suffocating the USA
Anybody who preaches the perfection of his "ism", capitalist, socialist, communist, Fascist, is a cunt. The only true "ism" is realism. Practice pragmatism!
Mr. Paul is a smart man and I agree with many of his arguments, but he failed to answer Larry's first question adequately. To say nobody gets turned away, that people will look after one another is a fantasy. It's the similar philosophy that when someone is stranded on the road with a flat tire, people drive by because someone else will stop to help. How can you privatize ambulances, fire departments, and other emergencies and expect a decent response rate?
@bartok6969 By setting a price. Very many ambulance companies are partially privatized, and they work very well. Usually they receive the patient's information from the hospital and bill them. Imagine if you could choose to call 911 or another number(s) for competing emergency service. They would compete for your money. They would be forced to create an efficient business (low prices), and efficient operations (quick response). There are capitalistic ways of doing anything.
@coaster61 - But if you witness a car accident and find that both drivers are unresponsive, who are you going to call? Remember, 911 no longer exists, since it is a government agency. Presumably both people would die if they only have several minutes for critical life saving procedures.
@bartok6969 You assume that I'm a selfish bastard. The families would be ultimately responsible for all the costs as they are in today's system regarding funerals. I would choose whichever company I cared to, and I doubt anyone would get upset with my decision. Frankly, if society was more voluntaryist there would be no speed limits and people wouldn't be required to buy car insurance. Everyone would be less dependent on the government to make them make good decisions regarding their own life,
@bartok6969 and then individuals would see how precious there own lives are. If you were to think of it in that mindset, I doubt you would even get on the highway in the first place. There would probably be a lot more transportation companies, which would be much safer. Truth is, I don't think depending on the government is ever good for society.
@Travinyle1 lol omg your politions have such an easy job, all they have to do is tell you what to do, without public services , which is not socalism its just common sense, the governments job is just to create mandates and war, do o the world a favour and get soem real public services , maybe then your government will be too busy improving teh country rather than destroying everyone elses
@LaughingMage there seems to be this prevailing notion that if the Gov doesn't do it then who will? I'll tell you who will: the group that is the most efficient and does the best job. What if Gov doesn't provide for children to go to school? Then that role will be filled by the most qualified enterprise as determined by the paying public. We vote on whom we like the best by giving them our money. Ron Paul believes the role of Gov should be as the founders (genius) intended (constitution)aka law
@Ilovehistorychannel You wrote: "We vote on whom we like the best by giving them our money." There's a big problem with that: some of us have a lot more money than others. The idea of democracy is one man (universal), one vote, so that we all have an equal say regardless of the size of our bank accounts. What you're advocating is effectively plutocracy. Education, like so many things, is too important to be a matter of money.
@evanlongaccount That's exactly what the US is a plutocracy. Now, if corporations and wealthy people were restricted the right to fund political parties than the plutocracy may end. All should have the ability to fund parties equally and the fact that there is no cap on funding is ridiculous and a waste of resources.
@Braindrain3 I don't just mean plutocracy with regard to elections. Most of the programs Libertarians want to eliminate are programs to address poverty. (They are staunchly anti-New Deal and anti-democracy generally.) They want to completely destroy the safety net standards and institute the law of the jungle in its place. If you can't afford school for your kids, etc., they say, "Too bad." I do agree, though, that major election finance reform is in desperate need and has been for decades.
@Braindrain3 I am a fan of ron paul when it comes to individual freedoms such as the right to do drugs, drink, etc. as long as not hurting anybody including ending the "war on drugs" aswell as his foreign policy where he would get out of all countries. This alone would drastically improve america's standing in the world but there is no way I could support his unwavering erosion of the safety net and reduction of government including letting free markets rein. Receipe for disaster domestically.
@evanlongaccount In America you find alot of Americans would do anything to each other for money, which include polluting democracy for personal agendas. That's why in America poor people can't get educated, can't get decent healthcare, can't get decent wages and so on... They don't do this in most industrialised nations.
@krazymindreader Libertarian ideas are very unrealistic when compared against history. Specifically, businesses have to be held to many standards by force and "The Market", which is very undemocratic because so few really have a say in it directly, will not take care of problems internally. America's government needs major reform to prevent corruption and improve democracy. Ayn Rand-inspired libertarian ideas of virtuous selfishness, though, effectively play directly into corporate hands,
@evanlongaccount if democratic principles were applied to everything in general, this would be a fairer world. One good place to begin would be the WORKFORCE and let a fair system decide whether someone is worth 15 million dollars a year, especially if they're under-performing.
@krazymindreader Yes, absolutely. It should be a new standard. Union membership (and thus workforce organization and bargaining capabilities) in the U. S. A. are at an all-time low and minimum wage (which is too "socialist" for Libertarians, if you can believe that) and therefore average wages have not nearly kept up with the cost of living or increases in workforce productivity. Meanwhile, the upper income tax bracket is at its lowest percentage in decades, even lower than in the 80's.
I'm not trying to cause problems....but interestingly, I have seen many people turn towards "home schooling". I am interested to find out your thoughts on it. I went to a public school. I feel I have gotten a well rounded education. Home schooled children and their parents/teachers are not regulated and may be taught incorrectly in lieu of their parent/teacher's education. Are there any home schooling regulations? Just curious....Brad
@LaughingMage He wants the market to take over the education system... just the way republicans wanted the health system to remain commercialized, and market-driven.
@LaughingMage You don't get it. He's not 'against school', he's against big, bloated government wings and people feeling like others need to pay for their services. He's obviously not against school, he holds an MD.
@Stewie4321 Ron Paul knows it's fascism. He was in Aaron Russo's movie, "America; Freedom to Fascism". Remember? He is just being careful with his words so he can get on tv as much as possible, to spread the information to the people.
socialism is any service the government provides besides physical protection... if you want a fire department, your a socialist... if you want the us post office, your a socialist
michael moore only wants more of it... so the rich and powerful are FORCED to help the poor
I agree with Ron Paul about his views on Obama. Obama should be stripped of his Noble Peace prize and confirmed as a war president. We had a high suicide rate in 2009 amongst American troops, they know this is a war not worth dying for and it is an IMMORAL war. Stop wasting the American wealth on useless wars and let these countries recover on their own. Start by helping the nation recover from its worst economic downturn in history and stop lying to the public about why we are really at war.
@krazymindreader Its so easy to put BLAME on obama when he is doing the recovering for this country by the doing of the REPUBLICANS AND THEIR WARS. Can't forget who started all this mess. Wasn't obama, war president? If obama is a war president, WHAT DOES THAT MAKE BUSH??? He's only been in for 2 years and your making up sound like he fucked the country up for 8 years like bush.
@Slimkidd730 WelI, I totally agree with you that Obama took on the shitty job of cleaning the mess Bush left behind. Bush as we know is good at starting wars but not finishing them, he's not a closer, but my criticism is that Obama was elected because everyone was fed up with Bush's involvement in the war, BUT, Obama has committed to keeping them there longer, when the country wants the troops out. Don't forget, the peace Nobel price shouldn't be given to those who CONTINUE wars.
The business of risk has a habit of choosing it's patients wisely because it only cares about profits, which by the ethics of a doctor (which he swears by when becoming a doctor) is unethical. Some people don't pay insurance because they are born sick and the premiums are high because of their pre-existing condition. Health care should be non-profit because God help you if you are suddenly faced with a $10,000 procedure, thats not good for the private healthcare organisation's bottom line.
Ron Paul is always honest and on point. Look up anything he says and you will see it is fact. Obama, Bush, Clinton, ...people like them are fake celebrity puppets. Ron Paul is real.
I don't question Ron Paul honesty, but it seems to me that Americans don't trust their government, and instead, prefer to get screwed big time by corporations.
Big time corporations basically screw us when government gives them special privileges through tax provileges, subsidies, bailouts, financing (FED), guaranties, tariffs, regulation, etc.
what does he mean that we don't have the right to other peoples services, is he making this up. We have the right to vote, freedom of speech, freedom of the press all dependent on others to provide a means for us to enjoy these. How would you vote if there was not a polling place or does Ron Paul think these happen out of the thin air. By the way we all pay for these protections.
What he means is we don't have a right to other people's services for free, ex. a doctor. So you cannot just walk into a hospital and expect to be treated for free. He was saying that in order for the government to give you, the citizen, something, they need to take it from somewhere else. The current health-care bill is taking the money from the wealthy earning a high income and redistributing it to the poor(socialism), ergo the"No right to something from the govt."
And I am not quite sure what you mean "polling place happening out of thin air". It doesn't really tie into the topic because the government doesn't give us a polling place. We pay for it through taxes, giving them the funds to run and maintain it for the election.
You're dead right. All the things he says we have a right to, requires the service of others; if you have the right to life, who is going to uphold that right if you are sick?
Ron Paul and Reagan are nothing alike. Ron Paul opposes Reagonomics at the fundamental level - Ron Paul wants to revert back to gold standard. Reagans foreign policy is totally anti-thetical to Pauls. Reagan sent the marines into Lebanon and invaded grenada, bombed libya, had iran contra affair, started Star Wars program - Paul would appove of none of these. And then theres the Reagans 'war on drugs' program. I rest my case.
@raghavny80 Reagan was just a muppet of big corporates, and oil-driven-arab dictators ass kisser.. screw him, and screw GOP in general. However, Ron Paul may be the only decent guy in the GOP
people are wimps. All they do is talk. If you don't like the country, ACT. Fuck this system. We all need Universal Health Care. I know whats it is like to be kicked out of a hospital with a heart attack. Or die because they are gravely ill because they do not have the RIGHT-HIGH PAYING INSURANCE. Shut this asshole up. Michael Moore is right.
Insurance is a business of risk, meaning that you take the risk by not having the right high-paying insurance. You can't just all the sudden try to get the right high-paying insurance after you are already sick and expect to pay $100 for a $10,000 procedure. It's the patients fault, and no one else's, if they don't have the right insurance. They played the risk by not buying it before they were sick and lost. So stop you're crying and stop looking for a free handout.
This was a good interview. Maybe I wasn't paying enough attention to Larry King's other interviews, but I don't recall him ever addressing other congressmen by their first names.
Moore is an NWO asswipe. Bowling for Columbine was anti gun propaganda. Im not a fan of capitalism either simply because in order to have rich you have to have poor, BUT a pseudo socialist empire isnt the cure.
This video clearly shows the principle of Ron Paul, and shows the difference between conservatives and libertarians on health care. There's a HUGE different. Libertarians DO NOT support corporate health care versus true free markets, lower government regulation, and freedom.
Yea Larry King just smiles when he can't understand Paul.
The problem is that most sheeple don't listen to the words that are said, but they focus mainly on facial expressions etc. and rely on sympathy. Watch the parts where Moore is being shown again, they put some happy and progressive sounding music underneath his voice to make him appeal better in the subconcious minds of everybody in the matrix.
Yes, when a counter thought is injected into the collective concious, the masses will reject it subconciously because it runs against what they are being fed over and over.

ElisabethLovesMusic 2 months ago 10
@ElisabethLovesMusic In all fairness that's not really true. We have the illusion of the opportunity to become wealthy. Corporations have the ability to shut entrepreneurs down. It also takes money to make money. Not everyone has the ability to get the capital to create a business.
Lovetto314 1 month ago
@Lovetto314 You are correct. It takes money to make money. The reason it takes so much money to make money is because the government(federal, state, and local) stand with their hands out and charge you to start a business or pretty much do anything. Like Paul said, this is not capitalism, it is not a true free market. So, Moore's grips against capitalism are misguided. He preaches more of what cause the problems he stands against (government intervention).
BeReeel1 1 month ago
@BeReeel1 exactly, I was reading what Lovetto314 said also, and yes it's because it's not a true "free market"

The media and the people have not looked at Pauls policies in the past 30 years. Not much has changed in terms of his policies or credibility:)
Reido2828 4 months ago
@Reido2828 i am a conservative, and while Ron Paul would be better then the current occupant of the White house, his views on Radical Islam frankly scare the shit out of me. He clearly knows nothing about the history, culture, and Ideology of these people. Now if he changes mind, and really studies the things i mentioned he'll really see why he was wrong, or he can just Militant and Misinformed
maximunoutlaw32 4 months ago
@maximunoutlaw32
that the only reason? You see America is safer with its soldiers on its own borders:) Radical Islam is a threat BUT many of Ron Pauls foreign policy ideas come from ex CIA men who were suppose to hunt and kill bin laden. You have to do the research and you have got to know your own countries history. There is a reason why Radical Islam and the muslim is the way they are. Its not just because of the US I know but a lot of it is. And his stance on immigration is simple but strong
Reido2828 4 months ago
@Reido2828 yes, but they aren't the way they are because of what the US has done in that area. @maximunoutlaw32
Reido2828 4 months ago
@Reido2828 well at least you didn't call me a Neo-con, that is a first for a Ron Paul supporter. There has not been a successful terrorist attack on American soil since 9/11. That is not just a coincidence, and yes Iran is building a bomb, but if we are both its borders, it dosen't matter if it has a bomb, they will not be able to use it. by the way i am also for the legalization of Pot and school choice, so i am not very far right.
maximunoutlaw32 4 months ago
@maximunoutlaw32
I won't say there not nor that they are. We simply don't know. That is the truth. Ron Paul is very up to date with world events and much more so then the rest of the candidates. Its cool to be right man. Liberal thinking is something that is poisonous lol and for good reason. Why do you think iran is building a bomb?
Reido2828 4 months ago
@Reido2828 What we do know is that there have been over 130 attempts by certain terrorist groups according to he CIA (though i don't know the exact number i know its somewhere between 130 and 180) And i don't expect a president to know everything. Just like CEO's don't know everything, they have specialized advisers who give them suggestions and then they make informed decisions bases on them. I like a president that can admit that they don't Know everything. and that's something they all do.
maximunoutlaw32 4 months ago
@Reido2828 as for Iran, those mother fuckers are going to start WW3, and even the people know it. how ever if we do invade Iran, which might happen in the near future, the UN can finally create a state of Kurdistan
maximunoutlaw32 4 months ago
@maximunoutlaw32
Does this have to do with Kurdistan or with Iran? What proof do you have that they will start world war 3.
Reido2828 4 months ago

Another thing Iran know Israel would wipe them out in minutes

its increcdible how right wingers remove facts from debate. Look guy, stick to playing video games.
hodmaster1 6 months ago
What people need to realize is that the decision for no Government is more Corporation inviolvement, or takeover. Ask yourself, the Military doesnt earn a profit and does a great job. Corporations are in business, a business to maximize profit. when it comes to your or your children's health. Which would be better? Government or corporation controlled healthcare? That is the real decision and there is no other option.
hodmaster1 7 months ago
@hodmaster1 Of course the military earns a profit? What kind of fucking dribble none-sense is this? You think soldiers, generals, captains, arms developers, military contractors, and technology developers don't make up the army? The army isn't one entity, its made up of people.

@sumskater999 Wow, and all this time I thought you left wingers were the party of peace and love, tolerance, pluralism, and open mindedness. Thanks for proving you're as hypocritical as I thought.
tripleheshy 3 months ago
@tripleheshy We are that party. That's exactly why I hate most Republicans: because they're against civil liberties.
Supporting Euthanasia is as open-minded as you can be. But you Republicans only see things in terms of life and death, no matter how terrible life is for that person.
sumskater999 2 months ago
@sumskater999 No, you are the party that started the KKK. You are the party who wrote, enacted and enforced Jim Crow laws. You voted AGAINST the 64' civil right bill (Al Gore sr, Robert Byrd). You are the party who marched thousand of Cherokee's to death through the trail of tears. You are the party who illegally invaded Mexico starting the Mexican/American war. You are the party who bombed buildings through the 60's U of Wisconsin, Bill Ayres etc. Yes, you are that party. Part 2...
tripleheshy 2 months ago
@tripleheshy Is that why the KKK is a FAR-RIGHT Protestant group? Seriously? If that's your argument, you SHOULD be a Democrat. I would be a Republican if this was 1860, but the GOP has gone a LONG way from then. It was DEMOCRAT John Kennedy who called for the Civil Rights bill of 1964 and DEMOCRAT Emmanuel Celler who strengthened it. This was actually in the FIFTH Party System, when TODAY's politics can be compared to those ideals. Sure Lincoln was a Republican, but today he'd be a Democrat.
sumskater999 2 months ago
@sumskater999 There wouldn't even BE a KKK today were it not for a few Democrat, confederate soldiers. JFK today would be a Republican in comparison to today's Democrats. Lowering the capital gains tax, which JFK did, is something today's Democrats wouldn't even dream of doing. They're doing the polar opposite. Nice try claiming Lincoln as one of yours. He isn't and never will be. The Democrat party died with JFK. Period.
tripleheshy 2 months ago
@tripleheshy There would be another far-right organization JUST LIKE the KKK. Those Democrats were CONSERVATIVES. Today, conservatives align with Republicans and liberals align with Democrats. Eisenhower, Lincoln, and JFK were all liberal, Democrat or Republican.
From 1955 to 1969, the capital gains tax rate was consistently 25%. JFK cut the INCOME tax rates, and that was because they were RIDICULOUSLY high at over 90% on the rich, and he only brought them down to 77%.
sumskater999 2 months ago
@tripleheshy But if by a "Liberal" they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people -- their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights, and their civil liberties -- someone who believes we can break through the stalemate and suspicions that grip us in our policies abroad, if that is what they mean by a "Liberal," then I'm proud to say I'm a "Liberal."
-JFK

@sumskater999 ...You are the party that sent my grandfather to WWI, my father to WW2, 2 uncles to Korea, 3 uncles and 2 cousins to Vietnam and then called them baby killers. Yes, you are that party. You proclaim to be humanitarians yet you and your party have sent more Americans to their death through war than any other party in this nations history. And lastly, you love civil liberties so much you stop at nothing to overturn the second amendment.
Take a bow you glorious humanitarian.
tripleheshy 2 months ago
@tripleheshy Random acts of terrorism-do Republicans not kill abortion doctors? Are Christian terrorist organizations not far-right?
"We" started those wars because of the neo-conservative view that dominates our foreign policy to TODAY. No Democrat would ever remain in office if he refused military aid in any of those wars, thanks to right wing pressure. Republicans feel we ALWAYS need to spend money on military, but not on our own people. And when did Wilson or FDR call ANYONE a baby-killer?
sumskater999 2 months ago
@sumskater999 *facepalm* When oh when will you ever take responsibility for anything you do?? Woodrow Wilson's pledge not to engage US forces in WW1 was but a lie and eventually sent them (with the help of a D majority in the Congress) but somehow someway it just has to fall back to those evil NEO CONS!!! I swear you people are so utterly childish with your "It's not our fault they made us do it" BS. No wonder every electoral landslide is always a D getting thrashed by a R. Wait till 2012.
tripleheshy 2 months ago
@tripleheshy I'm aware of Wilson's entry into WW1. But you're just bullshitting when you say they showed any disrespect for armed forces.
It does fall back on the neo-cons. Clinton wouldn't have engaged in more than half his military operations if it wasn't for the Republican pressure he had to appease.
The reason Republicans SHOULD always win landslides is because 44% of the country is conservative and only 36% is liberal. It's TRULY pathetic that you don't win EVERY election with that support.
sumskater999 2 months ago
@tripleheshy Of course Republicans go nuts over the second amendment. We Democrats believe that if a law is killing people because of criminals, it PROBABLY should be AMENDED, not overturned. When that amendment was originally designed, guns had to be re-loaded after every bullet. Somehow, I don't see George Washington, John Adams, or Thomas Jefferson approving of citizens carrying automatic rifles.

To say nobody gets turned away, that people will look after one another is a fantasy. It's the similar philosophy that when someone is stranded on the road with a flat tire, people drive by because someone else will stop to help. How can you privatize ambulances, fire departments, and other emergencies and expect a decent response rate?
bartok6969 1 year ago
@bartok6969 By setting a price. Very many ambulance companies are partially privatized, and they work very well. Usually they receive the patient's information from the hospital and bill them. Imagine if you could choose to call 911 or another number(s) for competing emergency service. They would compete for your money. They would be forced to create an efficient business (low prices), and efficient operations (quick response). There are capitalistic ways of doing anything.
coaster61 1 year ago
@coaster61 - But if you witness a car accident and find that both drivers are unresponsive, who are you going to call? Remember, 911 no longer exists, since it is a government agency. Presumably both people would die if they only have several minutes for critical life saving procedures.
bartok6969 1 year ago
@bartok6969 You assume that I'm a selfish bastard. The families would be ultimately responsible for all the costs as they are in today's system regarding funerals. I would choose whichever company I cared to, and I doubt anyone would get upset with my decision. Frankly, if society was more voluntaryist there would be no speed limits and people wouldn't be required to buy car insurance. Everyone would be less dependent on the government to make them make good decisions regarding their own life,
coaster61 1 year ago
@bartok6969 and then individuals would see how precious there own lives are. If you were to think of it in that mindset, I doubt you would even get on the highway in the first place. There would probably be a lot more transportation companies, which would be much safer. Truth is, I don't think depending on the government is ever good for society.

I agree with both sides.

Travinyle1 1 year ago 46
@Travinyle1 lol omg your politions have such an easy job, all they have to do is tell you what to do, without public services , which is not socalism its just common sense, the governments job is just to create mandates and war, do o the world a favour and get soem real public services , maybe then your government will be too busy improving teh country rather than destroying everyone elses
lousaffire 6 months ago
@LaughingMage there seems to be this prevailing notion that if the Gov doesn't do it then who will? I'll tell you who will: the group that is the most efficient and does the best job. What if Gov doesn't provide for children to go to school? Then that role will be filled by the most qualified enterprise as determined by the paying public. We vote on whom we like the best by giving them our money. Ron Paul believes the role of Gov should be as the founders (genius) intended (constitution)aka law
Ilovehistorychannel 1 year ago
@Ilovehistorychannel You wrote: "We vote on whom we like the best by giving them our money." There's a big problem with that: some of us have a lot more money than others. The idea of democracy is one man (universal), one vote, so that we all have an equal say regardless of the size of our bank accounts. What you're advocating is effectively plutocracy. Education, like so many things, is too important to be a matter of money.
evanlongaccount 1 year ago
@evanlongaccount That's exactly what the US is a plutocracy. Now, if corporations and wealthy people were restricted the right to fund political parties than the plutocracy may end. All should have the ability to fund parties equally and the fact that there is no cap on funding is ridiculous and a waste of resources.
Braindrain3 1 year ago
@Braindrain3 I don't just mean plutocracy with regard to elections. Most of the programs Libertarians want to eliminate are programs to address poverty. (They are staunchly anti-New Deal and anti-democracy generally.) They want to completely destroy the safety net standards and institute the law of the jungle in its place. If you can't afford school for your kids, etc., they say, "Too bad." I do agree, though, that major election finance reform is in desperate need and has been for decades.
evanlongaccount 1 year ago
@Braindrain3 I am a fan of ron paul when it comes to individual freedoms such as the right to do drugs, drink, etc. as long as not hurting anybody including ending the "war on drugs" aswell as his foreign policy where he would get out of all countries. This alone would drastically improve america's standing in the world but there is no way I could support his unwavering erosion of the safety net and reduction of government including letting free markets rein. Receipe for disaster domestically.
Braindrain3 1 year ago
@evanlongaccount In America you find alot of Americans would do anything to each other for money, which include polluting democracy for personal agendas. That's why in America poor people can't get educated, can't get decent healthcare, can't get decent wages and so on... They don't do this in most industrialised nations.
krazymindreader 1 year ago
@krazymindreader Libertarian ideas are very unrealistic when compared against history. Specifically, businesses have to be held to many standards by force and "The Market", which is very undemocratic because so few really have a say in it directly, will not take care of problems internally. America's government needs major reform to prevent corruption and improve democracy. Ayn Rand-inspired libertarian ideas of virtuous selfishness, though, effectively play directly into corporate hands,
evanlongaccount 1 year ago
@evanlongaccount if democratic principles were applied to everything in general, this would be a fairer world. One good place to begin would be the WORKFORCE and let a fair system decide whether someone is worth 15 million dollars a year, especially if they're under-performing.
krazymindreader 1 year ago

Just curious....Brad
brahud 1 year ago
@LaughingMage Absolutely. Private schools are much better than any public school. Education shouldn't be an area of interest for government.

Sunilkanwar 2 years ago
@krazymindreader Its so easy to put BLAME on obama when he is doing the recovering for this country by the doing of the REPUBLICANS AND THEIR WARS. Can't forget who started all this mess. Wasn't obama, war president? If obama is a war president, WHAT DOES THAT MAKE BUSH??? He's only been in for 2 years and your making up sound like he fucked the country up for 8 years like bush.
Slimkidd730 1 year ago

Ron Paul, when it's said that someone has a right to someones service, it doesn't mean that the service-provider has to do it for free.
aiyic 2 years ago
I love Ron Paul, he is such a looney...
what does he mean that we don't have the right to other peoples services, is he making this up. We have the right to vote, freedom of speech, freedom of the press all dependent on others to provide a means for us to enjoy these. How would you vote if there was not a polling place or does Ron Paul think these happen out of the thin air. By the way we all pay for these protections.
carlguyer 2 years ago 3
What he means is we don't have a right to other people's services for free, ex. a doctor. So you cannot just walk into a hospital and expect to be treated for free. He was saying that in order for the government to give you, the citizen, something, they need to take it from somewhere else. The current health-care bill is taking the money from the wealthy earning a high income and redistributing it to the poor(socialism), ergo the"No right to something from the govt."
jjdec05 2 years ago
And I am not quite sure what you mean "polling place happening out of thin air". It doesn't really tie into the topic because the government doesn't give us a polling place. We pay for it through taxes, giving them the funds to run and maintain it for the election.
jjdec05 2 years ago
I agree, We should have the right to vote and the right to freedom of speach and question our leaders.
TheyHearUsNow 2 years ago
You're dead right. All the things he says we have a right to, requires the service of others; if you have the right to life, who is going to uphold that right if you are sick?

Ron Paul is a lot like Ronald Reagan, which is probably why you, a bum, dislike him. "Put these welfare bums to work." - Ronald Reagan
bribomcbainjr 2 years ago
Ron Paul and Reagan are nothing alike. Ron Paul opposes Reagonomics at the fundamental level - Ron Paul wants to revert back to gold standard. Reagans foreign policy is totally anti-thetical to Pauls. Reagan sent the marines into Lebanon and invaded grenada, bombed libya, had iran contra affair, started Star Wars program - Paul would appove of none of these. And then theres the Reagans 'war on drugs' program. I rest my case.

people are wimps. Michael Moore is right.
jamie2628 2 years ago
Insurance is a business of risk, meaning that you take the risk by not having the right high-paying insurance. You can't just all the sudden try to get the right high-paying insurance after you are already sick and expect to pay $100 for a $10,000 procedure. It's the patients fault, and no one else's, if they don't have the right insurance. They played the risk by not buying it before they were sick and lost. So stop you're crying and stop looking for a free handout.

This video clearly shows the principle of Ron Paul, and shows the difference between conservatives and libertarians on health care. There's a HUGE different. Libertarians DO NOT support corporate health care versus true free markets, lower government regulation, and freedom.

Dr. Paul makes too much sense. The sheeple couldnt possibly grasp any of this...shit Larry King is having a hard time.
fishingfordollars 2 years ago 4
Yea Larry King just smiles when he can't understand Paul.
The problem is that most sheeple don't listen to the words that are said, but they focus mainly on facial expressions etc. and rely on sympathy. Watch the parts where Moore is being shown again, they put some happy and progressive sounding music underneath his voice to make him appeal better in the subconcious minds of everybody in the matrix.
JimWestonInfowarrior 2 years ago 3
Yes, when a counter thought is injected into the collective concious, the masses will reject it subconciously because it runs against what they are being fed over and over.
