  • Why are the kyokushin-signs on their gis covered with tape?

  • 数見の勝ち kazumi win

  • this fight is sooo gay.. karate is gay

  • Very disappointing fight. I'm sure that both these guys have had much harder sparring sessions in their dojos. They should have both being disqualified at the end of round 1, for lack of fighting spirit.

  • @letsparty2015 You realise that they're two top fighters...The reason it's not so 'hard' is because they both know what each other's capable of...It's not a show of power - it's hard for them to find open points within each others guard...Kyokushin is more then beating the shit out of each other - it's playing each others weakness + strengths ;)...It's more about skill then brute force ;).

  • oz!!! brasil

  • Kazumi was robbed. That guy is amazing, no matter what kind of insane punishment he just sucks it up and keeps fighting. That's the true spirit Kyokushin tries to teach. Always push forward, and when you're out of energy, push a bit more.

  • why do they put patches on their uniform kanjis and signs?

  • puhhleeez, almost fell asleep, people you know they have mixed martial arts out there ufc, pride and such, these guys wouldnt last 10 seconds with real fighters, in its day this was nice, but really its more like modern day tia chi !!!

  • @kevinsmithism, is that you, do we meet again, the guy who wanted to take the piss out of geoff from deadliest warrior.

  • @israelifaggot well, your name pretty much somes up what kind of person you are!!! lol and you say this to me???? lol sad sad little boy!!!

  • @kevinsmithism alright bitch, no need to get rude. hows the bjj going, do you like sitting on top of other men, or is it the thrill of being on the bottom that keeps u going back to the bjj club. kyokushin is real fighting, bare knuckle and the training is way tougher than mma. so keep your trap shut u bjj fag.

  • @israelifaggot

the training is tougher, but the effectiveness in street fighting.. I doubt it's as effective, as the other guy said, as mma (tho mma is a mix of styles), or muay thai, bjj. Don't get me wrong, I like karate and all its styles, but when it comes to effectiveness - I'll always go to other styles if I need it for protect myself in he street.

  • @kevinsmithism 'there ufc, pride and such, these guys wouldnt last 10 seconds with real fighters' do you mean like GSP, Gerard Gordeau, Bas Rutten, Andrews Nakahara, Katsinori Kikuno, Ryo Chonnin etc etc etc?

All the fighters I mentioned credit there standup to this style. Not only do they last 10 seconds but many of them become champions. People watch a couple of UFCs and suddenly they think they have a clue. Its sad

  • @aldridge1 Muay thai is much more effective for striking even boxing is better but kyokushin is tough too.

  • @M4rsu

nope, because when you kick, you hit with either the ball or the instep. In both cases, the absorbing surface is relatively big, and, in case of the ball, soft.

When you punch, you hit with your knuckles, which means you have an impact on an extremely small (and considering konditioned kyokushin players pretty hard) surface. The risk to break bones or do any other severe damage is therefore much higher.

  • Eh, I don't see it. I would have gone another round there.

  • this was pretty boring.

  • this fight sucks baalllls

  • Can people really use this style on the street?

  • @emanresu81 are you serious? Because if you are your a dumb ass.

  • @emanresu81 Go to Japan and start a brawl at some Yakuza place and you will see.

  • @emanresu81 Ummmm YEAH!

  • hey, did they actually wear a mouth gel when in kumite???

  • @ZEN824 NO.

  • Two round s were Taekwondo, third was Kyokushin...but I understand becouse they had lots of hard fights....

  • Honestly, what a ridiculous fight. A fight of callus, strength and breath. But no strategy, few punches, kicking blind... where is the maai, the go no sen, sen no sen of karate? Ok, I know that guys can break my face but that is a boring and ignorant fight!!

  • @yurikan200 honestly, are you in Kyokushin?

  • @ZEN824 I did it for ten years

  • @blugularis I am sure that you're a black belt..

  • @yurikan200 no one needs to break your face, you don't have one to break

  • @yurikan200 Watch live...boam..boam...boam..then u love it,

  • やはり顔面攻撃や投げ技が無いと締まらないね。

    トーナメントではなく、単戦の場合は導入必須だと思う。

  • what a cry baby...

  • lmfao the random guy like 1:10 in screaming TAO NI MA!

    xD

    "fuck your mother" n chinese

  • @opalaedu boring eh?

  • Great fight between two Kyokushin legends. These two fought for the championship in '95 and Hajime won. Can't seem to find the video of that fight on you tube.

  • Osu

  • 数見肇\(^o^)/

  • 人间凶器大战人造人。。两个百人斩的家伙

  • OSS

  • My guess got true.the non-japanese won

  • the non-japanese is amazing.he is the first 1 i see to fight good against a master japanese

  • GREAT FRANSCISCO FILHO show not only japanese can do that, more n more gaijin going to.........osu

  • Good fight! & v.good sportsmanship^^ definitely worth watching :)

  • Oh wow, another eu champ that no one has ever heard about.... how unusual. ^^

  • Well, there are plenty of medical centres for retards and n00bs, so if YOU think ur someone, ur terribly wrong. The video Emil Kostov world karate champion is available at Metacafe. How unusual, the WHOLE world has heard of an OFFICIAL champion at that time, and only you haven`t...Hmmm...I wonder if u ever did participate in a REAL fight, even with tons of protectors roflmao!

  • Yeah yeah... whatever. Argo said it best.... Go wrestle with your keyboard. ^^

  • Come wrestle me! If u dare...If not-stop spamming and STFU.

  • LOL, you dont get it do you? You are proving yourself as the twat you are by behaving like a keyboard warrior. But sure, go ahead, keep threatning people on youtube. You seem to have a little self asteem issues so just keep going i dont mind. :)

  • I meaant I never denied anyone`s success in any way-I can`t last long against either Kostov or sort of, since I am no world champion @ karate.Furthermore, I would fight any man who`s trained in it for even 5 years. And being self-confident doesn`t make u any warrior-neither keyboard or real warrior.

  • Yeah..... sure.... whatever you say. ^^

  • lol.

  • fuck you, in K-1 Francisco Filho proved that Kyokushin is efective! although I think kick boxing is better because the fighters are permitted to hit in the head.

  • But most KB fighters practice in semi-contact and are thus not used to hitting full force. those that practice full-contact are still limited by the KB rules they are used too

  • @Brunochavesj well, MMA is better because the gloves are small and you can grapple.

  • @FIxt00l 3 times EU champion*

  • If only you`d say this in my face, as I have beaten a Kyokushinkai competitor twice...

  • Don't listen to them, probably they don't train as hard as you do on your Play Station (Street Fighter?); they must be jealous.

So, which great Kyokushin fighter did you beat?

  • why the coach throws a red rag?

  • Time ran out. A minute before, you can hear "one minute."

  • very good fight !

  • "falta 1 minuto" =p

  • two words: Lyoto Machida

  • also: Georges St-Pierre

  • finals are usually like this...

  • FIxt00l... go fuck yourself, stupid keyboard warrior

  • Fagget get off the fucking keyboard and say that to Kazumi in his face hell break with with a flick of his finger on your fag ass

  • Yes...thats why the greatest fighter of all times in K1 was Andy Hug a Karate fighter......asshole.....

  • go wrestle with your keyboard

  • Ahhhh the sound of the lowkicks against the shin. It even hurts me to hear it, must be so painful.

  • can i somebody give me some advice abouttraining?

i've decided to for kyokushin next year...

  • What sort of advice are you after? .

  • anything...

cuz im considering on taking this self defence

    class

  • Keep you expectations both of yourself and Kyokushinkai realistic, learning will be hard and the benefits of certain aspects of the training may not be immediately self evident and certain techniques will not seem immediately applicable, its at this point that many new guys become frustrated either with themselves or the style its self and quit,as in all things but especially the martial arts patience really is a virtue, but young men often don't have it as they want to 'kick ass' straight away .

  • thanks,i appreciate it...

  • run run and run...push ups sit ups and leg squats

  • ummm... I'm not an expert myself but it seemed that they were not constantly beating the crap out of each other from the start because both fighters were playing safe to measure their opponent first because both of them were about the same size and perhaps almost as strong as each other.

  • A perceptive comment,it was also the culmination of a long tournament lasting several days both of them fighting numerous matches and presumably sustaining a fair amount of damage in the process these factors go a long way to explaining the fighters tactics,if you want to see knockouts the 1st day is always the one to attend the 2nd and 3rd days become more of a mental and physical grind compeling but certainly less spectacular than the 1st .

  • Yeah, I can't say more than I agree with you :). You seem to know much about karate. I want to start doing karate myself, perhaps you can tell me some useful tips perhaps? I will be really thankful ^^.

  • You seem to have a genuine interest in the martial arts and a realistic attitude about them,so my advice would be to compile a short list of dojo's in your area and give one(or more of them)a go,when starting training my only practical advice would be both a matter of common sense and common courtesy and thats as far as possible to keep your ears and eyes open and your mouth shut,if you work hard your actions will speak for you .

  • Ok, thanks for ur advice, dude :).

  • Oh yeah, don't go to a karate dojo where they would just give you a Black belt after two years or so.

  • why in this fight these fighter didn't use the common karate blocks? It seems that they blocks the kicks or punches

  • Because unfortunately, while kyokushin still teaches the typical karate blocks in it's curriculum, most other styles have taken it at it's face value and not analyzed the technique properly. The way it's typically taught (even in kyokushin) is far too slow, it's all great in a dojo while you have a tempered environment but a punch usually comes faster then you thinking what block to execute. Obviously though through sparring, kyokushin learn that a much more effective way is to parry or guard.

  • Francisco shows better kicks and good counter attacks...

  • Yes they don't punch to the head, you gotta follow the rules.

Kyokushin fighters fighting under Kickboxing and K-1 rules is very successfull

  • Of course they don't punch to the head...they don't wear gloves. Can you imagine the damage if they did. Kyokushin fighters are tough, I have sparred against many. Other styles like Muay Thai might do head punches but they also wear gloves...and I'm not biased, I do Muay Thai

  • @panzr That doesn't make sense. A kick to the head is easily as devastating.

  • fuck you

  • sorry if my comments offended anyone, I didn't intend disrespect towards the fighters. I admire the men competing in the karate tournament, & only meant the term full contact includes complete range of targets. This is hard contact fighting indeed, but full contact includes groin, eyes, throat and anywhere else you choose to strike. I appreciate that it is not to injure anyone severely, but perhaps it should include gloves to allow head punches as they are the most common attack in any fight.

  • fair enough fair enough

  • Since you can kick towards the head the "fullcontackt" part is true.

Whille saying that Fullcontact should mean that you can hit everwhere, it is still in a turnament, and therefore it needs rules.

And as I said, protecting against a good kicker is just as hard as protecting from punches, so they learn to protect the head as well.

And people still practise Kyokushin in MMA, so I suppose there's the place where you can see them go all out.

  • I would have to disagree with one of your points its much harder to defend say a jab than a kick,in my Kyokushin fighting days i could probably count the times ive been caught with by a head kick i was probably caught more times in a single round of Muay Thai, its not necessarily a problem as long as we realise that any set of rules is a trade of between realism and safety and will inevitably cause imperfections i think the Kyokushin way is a good comprimise just as long as we are aware of it .

  • I do agree! This is always what I try to make understand to people.

  • when they put gloves and punch to the head it is called kickboxing.

  • what the fuck are you talking about? you think van damme movies was real? van damme was a shotokan fighter, he knows only semi-contact and to act. he did ballet also, you think ballet would work against kyokushin?

    bah.

  • what the fuck are you talking about? the only things ive said here are 'fuck you' and 'fair enough fair enough' almost 2 months ago - learn to read before you try and insult somebody you fucking prick.

  • great fight! smart fight...

htey both knew it would last more then one round and saved everything for the last moment.

    OSU!

  • Results:

    1-Francisco Filho

    4-Glaube Feitosa

    They are the best.

  • zzz ? fransisco filho was the only non japanese to have taken the kyokushin kai title.

Actually Andy hug :P he was supposed to win back then, but they gave it to the japanese

  • there was this other fight him and filho, where filho placed an awesome flying spinning kick on kazumi's head. I think it was earlier then 1999, since filho had more hair.

  • kyokushin is the strongest karate. and one style is not better then the other . it just matters on the skill of the fighter (; i fight kyokushin for 4 life! -bushido

  • I practice Taekwondo WTF but i know that Kyokushin is the best .

  • @espiritudelucha It is not the style it is the fighter.

  • @espiritudelucha You got that right!

  • BRASILLLL!!!!

  • this is the best karate no.1 in the world .. full body contact

  • Kyokushin is not sport based...

  • A rather good fight. It was pretty slow as compared to what I see but you could tell that they were extreamly skilled and they did step up the speed a lot.

I love kyokushin but I do want to do away with the no head punch rule. they are ways to do it but everyone has their own oppinions. I'm glad I have watched this. It has inspired me in many ways so thanks for posting it. OSU!

  • It takes 7-8 same day fights to reach the final, fighters are extremly damaged and tired by then. The beggining is always slow and it picks up at the end of the fight - fighters have to save some energy for the end.

  • So basically, the most durable fighter wins.

  • At the very end if fighters are of similar level, you're right - the most durable wins.

  • The most durable wins. That's why it's so slow and boring. OK, but that's sports. What about real fighting? Most streetfights don't last over one minute. You don't need durability there. You need speed and precision. One good hit to the face - KO! Oh, but you don't have that, do you? Maybe takedowns? No? Throws, sweeps? No? Oh well, you can always ASK the mugger to play by the Kyokushin rules. ;]

  • Tournament fighting is a small part of the Kyokushin system,it includes sweeps, takedowns and a huge variety of strikes to the face it certainly has its faults just the same as any style but as your critique doesnt touch on any of them so its not at all valid.

  • "Tournament fighting is a small part of the Kyokushin system" - I don't think that's true. Kyokushin focuses on kumite and that's why the faults are being "practiced" over and over again. But that's just my opinion, I like all styles of Karate anyway.

  • Ive been doing Kyokushinkai for 18 years so i think i have a fair of idea of what is entailed in training in this style .

  • Have you been training Kyokushin in the UK? How often did you have kata? I'm asking because where I trained all we did was kumite and bag punching. No kata at all.

  • Ive trained mostly in the UK but ive trained in Japan and the Netherlands as well, the proportion of time spent on each of the three K's(Kumite,Kihon and Kata)varied from dojo to dojo rather than country to country,i depends on the character of the teacher and the make up of the dojo in question .

  • Yep, depends who is teaching, to be complete u must train Kihon, Kata's and Kumite, Kihon well performaced train ur spirit, doing always in each class a looots of seiken's and mawashi's, like 100 for example of the mae gueri's and mawashi gueri's and 30 punchs of the rest and 30 kicks of the rest as well, Kihon is when u start do show ur spirit and u reflect that in the Kumite and in the Katas. (:

  • Who is the teacher of Francisco Filho ??

  • japanese

  • They are one of the best kyokushin fighter in the history. Osu (cool video check mine also)

  • o and another thing we do not hit the face cuz you can hit full power without any protección, at first it could be done in kyokushin matches but it allways ended up beeing a blood bath.

  • But isn't it easier to KO a guy by punching to the face? I don't think a kick to jodan is much safer so why the absurd rules?

  • basically cuz of the nose, it's much easier to Ok with a punch but the direct hits to the nose implied to much blood. a Kick to the face just leaves you with a complexion xD. So for the Kyokushins that still want to puch in the face K1 was the choise

  • kyokushin tournaments sports? sport is when the fight is stoped every time someone gets hit like in shotokan or some of the TKD tournaments, kyokushin just cares about the marcial artist by forbiding just genitals bad kicks to the knee and the face punch. Kyokushin is not an olimpic sport if I can recall well...

  • Nor is Shotokan. But I was comapring Kyokushin to K-1 anyway. Also Shotokan, Shorin-ryu and Goju-ryu have traditional non-sports schools but Kyokushin was always sports-oriented.

  • that is totally wrong, kyokushin was not sports orientated, that aspect of it came later on, but it was designed for reality

  • kicks to the face are less frequent than punches (obviously), so 1 hit could knock someone out, where it could take many punches to knock someone out, this could end up in them losing their teeth, black eyes, cut faces, (a lot more frequently than kickboxing matches because of the fact we dont wear gloves)

  • u are absolutely right ironwarrior , i wonder why the thumps down on your comments.

  • Shotokan karate more explosive and fast ??? Well, it seems u know nothing about kyokushinkai...I council you to watch Midori Kenji's videos or Andy Hug, guy.

  • I suggest you watch this fight again and tell me if it was "explosive and fast". ;]

Andy Hug - yeah, he's great but I'm talking about the average tournament fight. Kyokushin relies on heavy body shots too much.

  • sorry, but i cant believe a shotokan player is saying this, i did shotokan when i was younger, the fights stop every point, they rely on one shot hits, and the fact is unless you get in a full contact fight, the chances are you would not handle a real fight,

  • Sorry, but I can't believe a former Shotokan player is saying this. Why would you bash the art you practiced?

  • no he is not criticising the art , but the sparring system , ot the tournament system , that alot of difference , like if i say , in real kyokushin u learn to punch in the face , but in a tournament , u are not allowed to unch in the face.

  • Great.... they hit how much...maybe 2 or 3 times in only 10 minutes... it is outrageous...

  • sorry to disagree, but shotokan is a light contact competition where you seek to hit, that why it's faster. Kyokushin seeks to knock out. A point in hotokan is a hit, a point in kyokushin is to suffer your oponent to the limit of the OK.

  • tanto delirio

  • Its amazing how they could hold back so much until the very end, man, i rushed right in at my last two tournaments and lost all strength by the end, guess i should have patience at the start

  • Filho in K1 fights much more

  • you should have gave him a fast mae tobi geri, that would have knocked him back further, and then followed it up with a simple oi zuki

  • Malísimo.

  • vcs viram a cara do Shokei Matsui??kkkkkkkkkkk!!

  • Some home boys never get it.

    押忍

  • Angelpunk should hold a lesson in streetfighting with superfast kicking.

    Anyway, OSU Filho!

  • THats the Kyokushin 1999 Final ????????

What alme garbage. I have seen better amateur fights in the Patersons boys club at the EFA open TKD tournaments.

    this is a lame shame

  • omg what a load of shit, really slow kicks, this wouldn't be any good in a street fight i can tell you

  • my dear, that's a sport, with rules and with athletes, that have no intention of getting their face broken for free...nevertheless some of them like Filho, Andy Hug, Feitosa and many others, have gone further to K-1 or MMA professional competitions, which maybe suit better with the type of competitions you and your punk friends like...

    :D

  • angelpunk1,I guess you r a streetfighter and an expert,eh?!

  • i didn't say i was a street fighter nor an expert, but I know when someone is kicking slow dumbass

  • angepunk1,U r not a streetfighter nor an expert and u r calling me a dumbass?!Do not talk on the subject since u r no expert!Those guys r heavyweights...

Btw,2 months a 250 lbs called me names on the street and felt tough to step out with me he got one of those "slow" mae-geris which threw him back 5 or 6 feet.I imagine it was your brither,u waste of skin...

  • aushuashaushau..japoneses idiotas...aushasuhsuash.....o povo mais idiota(sem generalisar)mais que saum saum1!!!

  • visit kyokushinshrine

  • that was a great kyokushin fight filho is god

  • pretty good video. It was not as exciting as most of the kyokushin fights but it is kyokushin and in my openion superior than other fights.

  • boooorrrringgg!

  • Thanks a lot for the great vid!

  • é o brasil fazendo bonito la fora.

  • Hey great video! thanks for uploading! :)

  • From Argentina, cheers to Francisco Filho and Glaube Feitosa. Two great fighters with a great heart!!!

He is a brazilian!! Never gives up!! Brazilians never give up!!! haahahahahahaha

  • nice!!! good fighter

    foda... Boa.. luta muito foda

  • Gogo Filho and Feitosa !!! Lets go Brazil Kyokushin !

  • wow!! The one time I.K.O screws one of their own "home boys". That's a first....Kazumi was more aggressive and landed more leg kicks than Filho. Another classical rigged match.

  • thank you very much for adding this vid, I have been searching it for years, you are the champ
