Chops is not just beating the shit out of a drum, its having groove and feel and dynamic. I have a damper in my bass drum, its the microphone on my laptop that makes it sound like shit. Look up North of Autumn on google if u want to hear any of my recordings. or the album is on iTunes and Spotify. And dude who made this video. You got potential and good job for marketing yourself.

Rock is very easy to play to me if you know your gospel chops. Most rock fills are very simple and are the exact same fill all over again. When you get to learn further then the ordinary of what everyone else does and sounds, you will be able to create your own fills of your own style in which you will realize how great it sounds and be amazed that you did it.
what you're kinda failing to notice, is that you don't actually hear what the guy is playing. there are two possibilities; he's playing the exact same note quality as 3 different drummers, or he's just playing, and the song is slapped right over. This guy could have the worst quality or the best we've ever seen, but all we're seeing is his timing.
I play 5/4 jazz at 200bpm for warmup. i'm not pretending i'm impressive either, but learn to play different time signature. And anything else than pop. And some fills that actually need practice. And while we're at it, *learn the instrument*.

Excellent drummer for your age, I wish I could have played like that at 16. I really can't believe how many negative and abusive comments you got, your powerful and have excellent technique. I am sure that some decent musicians will pick you up if someone has not already. You tube as become more about no hoping idiots bravely making abusive comments from the safety of their home just because they can. Fantasic promo for yourself, be proud, your excellent, really. lol @ all of you guys still hating...kid's been in a band for a while now...just made their first music video and I've heard them on the radio. Plus also, he isn't gay, on account of the fact that he has had a steady girlfriend for a pretty long time. I've met this kid and he's extremely nice AND talented so fuck off.

this dude is your basic session/tour drummer, nothing special, but it's not like he's saying he's one of the best in the world or something geez guys. I could teach a child with a sense of rhythm some of these songs in an hour, but just because he has the means to promote himself doesn't mean he deserves all this (cough jealousy ridden) hate.
Mike, the video was a little much, but you got the means to do what you want, so go for it.

It's such a shame to see such a tasteful kit go to such tasteless use...Not to hate, the kid can kick standard 4/4 beats it's just amazing to me to think what I could have done when I was 16 or now if my parents had money to throw to my drumming career like that. that kit should be in a skilled drummer's house, those beats would sound fine on a $300 kit like i was using until a year ago
