  • That's a cute little gadget but I've learned to do the same thing with a piece of clear handiwrap. Lay out a piece on your cutting board that is about 3 to 4 inches larger than your nori, fill with what you like best (I like cream cheese, avacodo, cucumber, imitation crab( and cilantro if I have it)place filling 1/3 from end, lay wrap over filling and roll as you would bamboo mat. You can slice it through the handiwrap if you like. Works for me.

  • I just can't see a bit of advantage of using this thing... maybe because I'm dumb, but for example, what about the ends which can be firmly pushed back inside to get both flat nice ends with the traditional bamboo mat?, how do you do it with this hyper-turbo-magic-cosmic-sushi-sodomizer?

  • And use phili chess not mayo

  • U are suppose to use crab sticks and dude too much rice also the mat is a rip off itlle break

  • amazon (dot) com/Sushi-Magic-Making-Kit/dp/B00028Y8GW

    "magic sushi roller"

  • the bamboo mat looks easier to use.......

  • this tool is a joke. Don't buy it... not traditional and using the mat is easier. This bastardizes sushi-making!

  • wow...the roll thing is sooooo attractive...i wish i could use it too for the sushi :D

  • i need to eat that o_o

  • i like this wrap pad , make us easier to roll sushi than traditional one(bamboo one)

  • Nice job....I need a roller....

  • YUMMM

  • so for the crab meat, just shred up the imitation crab and mix with mayo? and what are the ingredients for sushi rice?

    Thanks

  • You get the JAPANESE sushi rice from a world market or Asian store. It is NOT the same thing as common Chinese long-grain rice. The Japanese sushi rice is much stickier, & a little shorter & rounder than the Chinese long-grain.

You cook the rice in a rice cooker until the grains are consistent. Then add a little bit of salt & you're good, as long as the rice is drained. :)

  • ohhh ic thanks lol

  • sushi rice is basically just calrose rice. you can find it at any grocery store; thats were i get mine

  • thanks bro

  • i can't wait to make this

  • It's basically crab meat w/ a bit of mayo, haha. :)

  • I live in California and I have never seen Mayo used on a California Roll. Those crazy British.

  • We put mayo on everything - its not good at all

  • i think usually if its made with fake crab there tends to be mayonaise in it. with real crab meat theres no need for it. i hate mayo

  • yeah British food is the worst. There best dish is fried fish and chips

  • obviously you don't know anything about real British food...

  • True that.

  • @danperoz

English Breakfast is good but comes with heart attack.

  • I can't find nori anywhere its so annoying because I love sushi and it would be good to try making my own

  • sushisushi co uk sell nori and ship worldwide

  • he use some kind of a weird roling shushi mat. and he does't use the traditional shushi bamboo rolling mat.

  • who uses crab fillibg? . . . i thought that you were supose to use crab sticks

  • real crab is best for the job but you can chop up crab sticks and mix with QP mayo

  • lol, that thing looks like a scroll!!

  • precisely.... but anyway his instrucion is very catchy. because his pronouncation

  • Can anyone tell me how to make the sushi rice get is "clear" look???

  • you wash it over and over again until the water comes out clear.

  • before you cook it, you rinse the hard rice until all the starch (white crud) comes out, rinse until the water's clear and then cook it ^^ and don't forget the vinegar.!

  • can we replace the sushi vinegar with normal white vinegar or sushi rice to normal rice?

  • well, "sushi rice" and "normal rice" are the same thing, uncooked. just any rice will do, just not uncle bens.. bleh. and yes you can use white vinegar, it waoks out just the same. hope i've helped ^^

  • thx for the information...btw,i had try using the white vinegar but it a bit tasteless and strong acidic..so i add sugar on it and it taste better afterthat.

  • yeah, i asked my dad and he has a kinda recipie for it, adding sugar, some salt.. he even adds some cooking seaweed, shredded,m whatever, enjoy yourself expolaing the wonders of sushi! AOND DON'T SCREW UP

  • No no no! You need rice vinegar with dashi salt and sugar for the seasoning and you need Japinica style short grain sticky rice or it will be terrible.

  • thnx!

  • I think it's about $20 in the US, It's £25 in the UK but you get the recipe book and a nigiri mould too.

  • @koishy868

Avocado is the best thing on sushi!

  • @koishy868

    Avo is YUMMY!!!

  • Good video, but I would of used immitation crab sticks or real crab rather than filling.

  • sushi bars actually use the crab filling u see in this vid and imitation crab is actually what is meant to be in california rolls not real crab.

  • it's made from imitaion crab sticks, it says that in the vid

  • you can get sushi magic and sushi ingredients for the uk and europe at sushisushi co uk
