Chicago isn't the same without PC, but it sounds alot by Glory of Love in terms of chord progression. I've always been a fan, but you ripped this on off from the band that made you.
@whodoipp same here, then and now to me he's still one of the best artists around with that powerful voice, and his songs... they really stir powerful emotions ^__^
hearing this song again made me travel back in time during the 80's when Chicago was very popular. I love all their songs and Peter Cetera oh boy I'll always recognize that voice very distinct....one of a kind.
6 people who clearly have thier volume button on MUTE!!! -
Such a great song.....floating, soaring you travel to places in your mind that are simply sublime.....this why music is sooooo good.....memories are a bonus.
This song is absolutely one soulful song, well-written and greatly well-performed! I'm your Avid Fan Mr Peter Cetera! I watched the David Foster and Friends Concert at the Araneta Coliseum, Manila on October 23, 2010. I was moved when you sang the sung If You Leave Me Now. When you come back, please sing this song! Hugs and best regards!
You asshole. Why do you feel it necessary to ruin such a beautiful song by correcting a single sentence, then pasting a caption overlay. Do you think you are better than Peter himself? I would like to see your fat ass singing any song better than he.
Just what kind of asshole are you...you are one full of shit.

wow this sounds great! i might be a bit of a metal head but this reminds me a girl i was dating 22 years ago. it was great! then i went into the army and she found someone eles. i guess nothing last forever.
Just beautiful........This sounds more like a Peter Cetera solo career song, rather than a Chicago song......The timing doesn't matter, it's a wonderful song, sung beautifully by Peter.........I don't think anyone else could sing this as well as Peter....Bravo, Peter! (loud applause and standing ovation...:):)...)
Only you,Remember the feeling, We can stop the hurtin. All songs from Chicago 17 got very little, if any air time back in the day. This song makes me cry,the original version. This one just makes me smile
I just saw Peter's concert in Knoxville two weeks ago and he still is awesome. His voice was smooth and he didn't pull the mike away as you say he did. He just gets better with age.
This is my favorite song from Chicago 17, and I never thought I would hear it any other way then from the album.. wow.. talk about a flashback! This takes me back to my early early teens!
as far as Peter, he is an excellent voice. aside from the ballads, how he sang with Chicago pre-1978 was amazing - pure rock with his usual great melodic voice.
This is a great, underrated song. I saw Chicago on the 17 tour, and they did the whole album except this one and Once in a Lifetime, which are two of the best tunes on the album.
Wow! I remember being in love to that song 20 years ago, or so. Wish I could feel that way, but now I just remember the feeling... Peter is one of the greatest!
Well he butchers the whole last chorus, which should start "She was alive, I was caught by the fire". Then he gets mixed up and says "When I awoke and she told me she was gone". Ha ha um, I'd wonder how that would work! But that being said I absolutely love this song and this arrangement. And Peter's voice does just get better and better with age. Dennis DeYoung is the same way. If you've heard him recently, his more mature voice is just beautiful. These guys truly are an inspiration.
I don't know why this song wasn't a bigger hit in the '80s. It was one of my favorites then and it is again since I rediscovered it recently. What a CLASSIC!!!! And Peter, you will always be the voice of Chicago to me. That voice still gives me (good) chills whenever I hear it.
Peter is in his 60's? I mean, my gosh, for being that age, he still sounds great. Amazing how so many rock 'n roll stars, like him, have kept that high octave voice. I do wish he would not chop some of the words off the way he does, didn't do that on the Chicago 17 album version. Breaks up the smoothness of the song. He indicated in an interview his reason for quitting the group was the horrendous tour schedule they kept. He didn't like to be on the road touring that much.
Peter is still singing surprisingly well I think too by the way . . . others his age I think probably need to hang it up tho. They're tired, not Peter.
I adore Peter's classy style and amazing vocals. The passion and emotion that resonates through in his beautiful voice is SUBLIME defined; Peter ROCKS!!!
Why is nobody else commenting on the fact that only ONE person has mentioned before:
"And he moves the mic far away from his mouth on the highest notes!! Why?????"
Obviously Mr. Cetera is getting old. And that's OK. Sadly to say he does not sound that good anymore. Thankfully we'll always have the studiorecordings!
If you have a vinyl copy of Chicago hits 82-89 this song is on the vinyl version where Along Comes A Woman should be and is listed to be in. Must have been a mistake in pressing. Good one though, Along comes a woman was crap compared to this song!
In my opinion, one of their best ballads. However, I don't really care for all the modulations that are happening in this version. Nontheless, cool stuff though
@cetera06 I think this person means to ask if you have a version as it was recorded on Chicago 17, rather than this live version of just Peter and an orchestra in later years.
@imjax yep, that is, but I think that the original song can be easily found on the internet, this is a piece of art!...but thanks my friend for the advice..and thanks for contribute to the comments!
I first heard this song sung as a duet during a high school assembly over 20 years ago. When I found out it was a Chicago song and then currently on the radio, I repeatedly changed stations just to see if I could catch it. Now, if only someone could post PC's A Song For You
with peter cetera they were popular, how many times is chicago mentioned these days, its like credence clear water revival without john fogerty, doesnt work,
Oh man. Just discovered this song by Peter Cetera last week and I play it at least once every evening. I LOVE his voice and the way he talks, he so gorgeous oh my god. Lovely range and depth to his voice
peter really gave chicago a unique sound that they never recaptured after he left. they weren't as good without him.this always was my favorite song on 17.
Have been a Chicago fanatic from day 1. The day Cetera left the group was the day they should have packed up the horns. Jason Scheff can't carry Cetera's jock strap...not to mention a key! The brass is still as strong as ever...but the vocals leave something to be desired as Champlain's chords are history.
love pcetera very MUCH!
