Atheism has nothing to do with science. Atheism does not say anything about our origins.
Just because science does not have all the answers to every possible question, does not mean that therefore a god did it, let alone that your specific god did it.
In order to prove that it was a god, more specifically your god, you would have to provide evidence. Thus far no such evidence has ever been provided for any god at all.
Most atheists will simply say "I do not know how everything came to be".
Atheism and science are closely linked because both are open-minded wys of looking at the universe. You tend not to get theists in science, because as soon as we look at the universe, it's obvious there is no fine-tuning, there is no sign of any of the gods.

I think if people knew what was really in that horrible book, people would either choose to be atheist, or find another religion. I don't know. I wonder if any studies have been done on that- to see which is the stronger effect. Certainly it was a combination for me. Mostly though I just figured it out on my own. You are absolutely correct! Statistically it is impossible for life to exist through random processes in only 14 billion years. Just like it is impossible for a person to toss a fair coin and get heads 1 million times in a row, after a while you have to conclude that the coin is fixed or purposed. Just because science does not have all the answers to every possible question, does not mean that therefore a god did it, let alone that your specific god did it.
In order to prove that it was a god, more specifically your god, you would have to provide evidence. Thus far no such evidence has ever been provided for any god at all.

You are absolutely correct! Statistically it is impossible for life to exist through random processes in only 14 billion years. Just like it is impossible for a person to toss a fair coin and get heads 1 million times in a row, after a while you have to conclude that the coin is fixed or purposed. However, if you have an infinite number of coins being tossed than it would be statistically possible for one of those coins to come up heads 1 million times in a row. Hence the "multverse"

You hear all the time about Theists actually threatening Atheists because they are stating their point of view and defending the law. If there is a god, I don't think he fits into the puny, pitiful small minded books that we have written 2000+ years ago. In order to create 100s of billions of galaxies with 100s of billions of solar systems in each is a task that the god of the bible could not even fathom, let alone do. This is the best argument that creationists have. I do not believe that it is proof that there is a god but it is a mind bender. You can not just plug god into anything we do not yet understand. There have been hundreds of times in history when god was used to plug in a gap and then once science learned more, he had to be cruelly ripped out again.
Even conceding there WAS a god that designed the universe, you have to figure out that it is YOUR god. I think it may be Allah, he is winning.

Who's to know there aren't an infinite number of universes with an infinite number of properties. Trilions upon trillions universes would be completely lifeless, but our universe and probably some others have the right properties and that is why we are here to observe it and that is why it appears fine tuned. One question: If God created us by creating the universe with the right properties, why doesn't it say that in the bible?

Look at von neuman's paper on self reproducing automata - any system which is turing-complete will be able to support something which satisfies the essential parameters of living organisms. Despite the narrator's blinkered enthusiam, I see nothing here that adds weight to the intelligent design hypothesis. Let's face it, if we were to accept the notion of an intelligent designer, there'd be no point in pursuing scientific discovery because we'd always come to the same conclusion - god did it. Simply because we don't yet have all the answers doesn't mean we won't in the future, and when we do, I'll bet that a god won't be part of the equation.
