I really appreciate your video's. I have learned pretty much every thing about Logic from watching them. I'm hoping you could help me understand the Chord Grid Library option in Logic Pro.

Logic Pro > Preferences >Chord Grid Library

Would you please explain how this Chord Grid Library works? Also, could the chords be assigned and triggered by midi notes? And how do you make other instruments like a piano as the default tuning instrument?

Hi,

Can you place a topic about recording loops live with Logic Pro?

This is the concept:

I record a loop with a microphone, when it's done it has to stop recording when the loops starts over, and i have to hear my recording imedialty. Then I do this on every new track an create a live sound on sound composition.

Can you explain this for me please? I can't figger out with this punch on the fly thing.

I still find it amazing how many people use rex files in logic. If you just safe your recycle file as a soundfont.... it loads into your exs menu sliced... key mapped and ready to go. Amazing that someone with this much Logic knowledge even refers to the fact that reason makes it much easier... again....soundfont!. And your done....ready to rock.

thanks man, im gonna try it on logic pro 8 this night!!.....one question. Do you know how to use rewire in logic pro 8? Since ive been working with reason 3 and logic pro 8, i never find the way to use them with rewire. The fact is when I use reason with digital performer , rewire goes pretty well. What am i doing wrong?

everytime i drag a rex2 file into a audio track and then i try to play an instrument track it doesnt play the instrument track, it will only play the rex2 file. the only way ive been able to hear both tracks is if i change the rex2 into a wav and drag it into there. i know this was a very vague explanation so if you need me to get into more details i will. but has anyone ran into this same problem? is it a bug?

Obviously this software is too good to be only for mac's. The only way to have it for pc is too be illegal, by getting version of Mac OS x for pc I think, but this isn't the best way. Now i want to have my own Mac..:)

Os refills do Reason abrem no Finder. Que coisa estranha. Nao consegui fazer isso quanto mais arrastar para o Logic.

Man this is a lot quicker what i do is export from recycle into a soundfont file into a folder in Macintosh HD>Library>Application Support>Logic>Sampler Instruments (That i make)

then i open up that file in the EXS24 mann hahaha if i only knew good to know though

OMG, I Just finally bought Recycle 2.1 a few days ago. It was delivered today and I just spent the last few hours making rex files out of my favorite breaks. I've now loaded up My EXS 24 in Logic 8 only to find ALL of the RECYCLE CONVERT OPTIONS are GREYED OUT! I can't drag and drop them in either. I'm really bummed. So, I just got logic studio and from using some low end programs, cool edit pro 2.0, cakewalk homestudio 8, acid pro, and some mid level ones, fl studio, cubase le 4 I can already tel that after one session that thos program is 100 times better. However, I do not have some of the baisic experience with cutting tracks and copying sounds, converting unique copies and all that fun stuff, do you have a baisic tips and tricks video? all of the ones i saw were more specific

Just a quick question; Whenever I load samples into the EXS and play them back they always sound dull and quieter than the original audio file? Is this normal?

The volume is attenuated by the patch setting. Go to the front panel and there is a slider next to the volume of the EXS. Not channel strip... the EXS setting. Turn this slider all the way up.

Hi, i guess you need Recycle on your Mac in order to do this? I have Reason but not recycle. My Mac recognises them as Rex files but wont allow me to drag them to an audio track. I created the Rex files on my PC, is this what is wrong?

Reason allows you to 'Export Rex File and MIDI', but unfortunately, this is ONLY the MIDI file, and not the .rx2 file. Any file with .rx2 as a suffix will work fine, but if it's packed into, say, the reason factory library, it has to be extracted from the reFill. I'll upload a trick to use Dr. Rex with Logic.
