  • I love how this looks so much like an old cartoon :D

  • its like a mixture of stupid and funny. its called "stunny"

  • 4:24- Nothing says Uncle of The Year better than shooting your nephew in the face. :P

  • 'it unleashes my ID' .......CLASSIC!!!!

  • Is it Colour?

  • lol, rockey and bullwinckle reference

  • did that clock do a zoidberg scuttle?

  • lol who has a date at 7 in the morning

  • This cartoon is great. Sadly no major broadcasting show new shows that have the old school elements, especially the way your characters exaggerate themselves. Now I have 2 questions, why isn't this on tv. Also do you have any tips for the aspiring animator.

  • @863games Thanks. Here are some basic tips:

*Watch lots of old cartoons, and go through them frame-by-frame

*Read the animation books by Preston Blair, Eric Goldberg and Richard Williams

*Draw and animate as much as possible

*Read John K's blog, it's full of great lessons and inspiration

  • Well, good luck man. You have a very good character here, and you are obviously very talented. I'm sure you'll come up with something and that it will get picked up.

  • Have you ever pitched these at a network or anything? You could really make a living out of these. I mean, they are much better than the stuff that's on TV these days.

  • @NowThadius Right now I'm getting ready to pitch it, but first I need to figure out how it would work as a series. There would have to be some more characters (even if only minor recurring ones) and probably some sort of overarching concept for the show beyond just "Fester does some wacky stuff." Just a basic premise to provide some kind of narrative drive.

  • Wow. How do you keep up the enthusiasm? Do you get paid for these?

  • @NowThadius He should!

  • @NowThadius No, I just have lots of fun doing it. Throwing in little extra gags as I go along helps to keep it interesting for me. Money would definitely be nice though.

  • How long did it take you to make this? I'm an animator myself, and I saw that you made this all by yourself, so I was just curious.

  • @NowThadius About seven months, in total.

  • This was hilarious! I discovered these via startug. I love carttons as well, and loved all the cartoon references! I was laughing so hard! Keep up the good work!

  • Does anyone know how he does his animations?

  • @Theoneandonlywizard I draw them traditionally (frame by frame) in Flash.

  • Love your cartoons Aaron! I've never seen them until today! How long does it take to make an episode?

  • @startug The last couple (the Fester Fish ones) took six months to animate. It took less time for my Space Goose ones, but the Fester Fish ones have a lot more animation.

  • Brilliant!! One of the best cartoons I've seen in a long time. This is like if Hanna/Barbera came back from the dead, got together with Mike Judge and John K.

and all made a cartoon. Kick ass dude!!

  • YESSSSSSS! More Fester!

  • Why does fester bob up and down so much? is it Parkinson's?

  • @SuperMrMaximo Yes.

  • where's the elongo vision

    ?

  • Ok, why ISN'T this on Cartoon Network?

  • @CheezyWEAPON Because it's not on the random cartoons show.

  • Sweet. The lively lines, the gritty gags and the emphatic pupil expressions remind me of Kitchen Casanova.

  • why does every nephew on a cartoon have the same outfit

  • Meth is a hell of a drug.

  • the animation is superb! like a mix of Tex Avery and Ub Iwerks

  • in the minute 1:51 ERROR but its okay

  • This was hilarious. It plays like an old mickey mouse cartoon with the dumbest anti-hero ever. I love it.

  • one nitpick i do have though, is how you use the same door noises over and over, it's the exact same ones as the ones they use on AOL instant messenger, which takes away from the animaton slightly

  • @Graffasus Ew, really? I had no idea I was using AOL sound effects. I might have to change that if I ever re-export the cartoon.

  • @aalong64 i found it sorta humorous lol noone uses it anymore anyways haha

  • you've done it man, this character's golden, his appearance voice and personality meld together so well, don't EVER change him, stay with him for the love of GOD, he's got so much potential. potential which is being proven time and time again each time your release one of these. well done dude.

  • This is quite enjoyable to watch.

  • haha is his nephew already dead?

  • WHATS UP.. pier!

  • And murder on occasion....

  • THAT AX IS STRICTLY FOR DECORATION.

    (and murder sometimes)

  • You are really good! Looking forward to more of this soon!

  • man, why dosnt this have more views yo?

  • XD this are like the cartoons i used to watch as a kid

  • dude these videos that you have created is definitly worth the subscription

  • fester reminds me of baman from baman and piderman

  • Don't drink that you stupid kid" that's for me, it Unleash's my In" best thing i heard all day!

  • lets bob rythmically xD

  • He... shot him! xD

  • LOLOLOL <3 My fave part was when he almost said whats up doc...

  • I gotta say, I'm impressed with your Classic Cartoonery.

  • It looks like a mid 90's nickalodeon cartoon

  • Ha! This is so awesome! The jokes are well received and the art and animation is great and fluent. Perhaps a little too long because it seems to drag out jokes more than they need to be (most of the jokes you use required build up, so it kept a relatively slow pace). Perhaps this cut down by a minute or two would be the sweet spot. Overall, awesome job!

  • ...an murder an occasion.

    o_o

  • 0:19 Fster just slams on the telephone and he's talking to his girlfriend ??? Ahh the world of Cartoons never fail me lol

  • This was amazing !

  • lol holy crap, this was funny

    YARRRRRRRRR

  • @Dark2Reaper YAARRRRRRR

  • Nice I like it, very Looney Tunes Based.

  • This is amazing man! Amazing job! See you in class!

  • This is just the first episode and I already love it!

  • sry my english isnt the best.

shorten in the way were only the most needed things happen ... becuz fact is that stuff that isnt really needed bores ppl. U got nice retro humor here which is funnny :D but there is alot which is not needed.

  • if u would try to tensen those clips more the would get good potential

  • @Whirlwind0Production Sorry, I can't understand what you're saying. It seems helpful though. Are you saying if I made this cartoon shorter it would be more successful?

  • 2:52 fester becomes a real fish

  • very good cartoon, very pleasing to watch do more fester the fish, although add some more funny characters .

  • How long did this take you?

do you draw with a tablet?

  • @minimullen Yeah, with a tablet. It took about 5 months.

  • Your animation is absolutely supberb.

  • Very good! Right up there with McKimson, John K. and Cordell Barker. Great use of sound effects and music. Liked Festers voice too. Funny stuff! :)

  • really nice....i like how the sense of humour is for both kids and adults, and also ....the animation takes advantage of the medium, which is rarely done in cartoons these days. you should have a series of these with various characters.

KEEP CHURNING THEM OUT, cant wait to see the what you do next.

  • 3:38 to 3:46

    lol

    4:27 to 4:30

    Perfect timing... Great cartoon Aalong64.

  • Three's a company? haahahhahahaha

  • Now this is a cartoon! As a fellow animator I'd like to say, excellent work.

  • Awesome work, dude!

  • This cartoon is amazing! Only one problem. We never saw those flies that were being audibly hinted at throughout.

Mostly just kiding. Can't wait to see more!

  • Gah damn, that's a beautiful cartoon. Loved everything about it.

  • Great moments:

    -Unfortunately, it is...

    -What's up...Pier?

-Fester's reaction after discovering is nephew's on his room along with "Tomorrow Too"

-Fester having to recover some air to KEEP on trying to throw his nephew outside, along with the creepy merging gag.

I think the final gag where he supposedly shoots his nephew worked out so well. Thankfully no consequences, and it was done offscreen. Props to you, man! I'll be looking forward to any new shorts you create!

  • This was awesome!

  • i like the animation! Just get better voice actors.

  • @pkring - OH, BURN!!! Hey Aaron, Totally Anonymous Person With Completely Inactive Account #65,294 just told you HARD. What you got to say to dat, G? You just gunna sit and take it? Seriously, his could destroy you, you realize that, right?

  • @narozzz Everyone's entitled to their own opinions.

  • the jokes in this actually made me laugh -- what a novel concept for cartoons! :P

  • @varishnakov Part of that might be intentional, depending on what you're referring to.

Fester is supposed to be so stupid that speaking coherently -- and somewhat intelligently -- is a huge undertaking for him, that requires lots of visible effort.

The animation is pretty over-the-top though, so it might not be to everybody's tastes. And of course some of it is admittedly downright sloppy.

  • @aalong64

Fester sounds a bit like John DiMaggio.

  • Waitaminute - was the "date/hate/great" rhyme at the beginning intentional? I couldn't be sure...

  • @narozzz Yep. I guess I probably should've had him rhyming all the way through, or not at all, to make it clearer.

  • @aalong64 - GAH! Don't tell yourself that, man! You'll be putty in the hands of script "supervisors" who want to turn every style of writing in Tiny Toons! I LOVE the fact that you can't be sure how intentional that is. That kind of slight content slippage was one of the things that made the early Simpsons years so unique and funny. Half-jokes are only half-funny when they're half-assed!

  • Loved it! The animation was fantastic! And you did this all in Flash?

  • @RushedAnimation All the animation was done in Flash, and the backgrounds were drawn in Flash but coloured in Photoshop. Then I put the scenes together in Premiere Elements, and added some VERY slight effects over top, that are probably not noticeable (blur and film grain).

  • @aalong64 How long did it take?

  • Funking hilarious - with a hilarious blend of Tex Avery, Max Fleischer and C. H. Greenblatt. That wild take from 2:48 was nothing short of jenius! :D

  • hers a stupid question 1:01 is that his booze ?

  • @TheThomas64fan Yes it is.

  • great!

  • Hilarious, and ever so slightly disturbing.

  • Wow, you've really been developing your style. It just such a cool process to see. I really enjoyed this. Very funny and entertaining. It looks so professional I am just blown away with the whole thing. Keep up the amazing work. I can't wait to see more or your fun and witty creations.

  • Amazing Aaron, That's all I can say.

  • Fantastic!

  • i aggree

  • Love the art style, the whole piece is wonderfully professional. :)
