Yeah right. Last month as I was jogging a rooster ran behind me jumped up and got me cut on my leg. I was bleeding pretty badly, required two steeNeedless to say, that rooster ended up as a soup that night. But they can hurt you if you are not very careful. I still don't understand how he got me, but he did. Their claws on the legs are dangerous.
one time we wanted to grab a rooster we had and motherfucker kept running away. I got pissed and I chased him while others blocked it's path. all in all the fucker got tired out of breath and it just sat like a little bitch as I proceeded to pick him up. who's got more stamina I laughed and kept flicking it's peak with my finger hahah
most of my roosters r nice, only one was a total bith, he thinks he runs the place and he was a oriental game and he uses his spurs to attack us so we had tokill him
i learned that lonely chickens will pretend to be roosters and crow anyway, i know that from personal experience. unfortunately for me, having a chicken in susburbs is legal, so nothing i can do about it, except buy a pellet gun
@Tilan123 You were lucky... We have one that is gorgeous and very protective of his "girls"... we have not sent him to the great stew pot in the sky yet because he does protect his hens from predators. We had a hawk problem here a while ago and we lost 7 in one day. NONE of them were from his flock... But he is mean and he does attack us and has put a scar on my husbands and my leg.we heard from an old farmer to dunk them in a water tank to show them whos boss. We tried it, it worked for a day
Just a sugg from an old farm hand, once you have hold of the bird, flip it over and rub the breast bone gently. This will cause the submission reflex in the animal. They will remain in a trance for a few moments allowing for tagging or cleaning. Cheers.
No more than any single rooster is tuatha. They will often fight between themselves for "boss" rooster position. They will not "gang" up on a predator (or person) they just don't think that way.
In a rooster "attack" it would be more likely that the second rooster in the fight would attack the other rooster. I have raised many, I have never been hurt by one, just startled. :)

It's the male's job to seed, and because he's more physically strong to protect the females, and babies. :)
