I knew a woman who had an English Pointer untrained. When we would be ready to do something like go outside the house, you could tell the dog was thinking about what his options were, like if he should run away...I used to call him "Pinky Thinking" because his stomach was sort of pinkish and "thinking" because I could tell he was thinking about what his options were.

My dog does that on her own. She's a pointer and I've never taught her anything. She just follows her instincts and every single being that flies all of them she wants to hunt down <3
