Well I think Mike uses steroids. But you can get a six-pack without them without problem. You need to be thin (full pack is 10% body fat or lower) so you need a good diet. To exercise your abs, you don't really need weight : you can do sports (like hockey, judo, brazilian jiujitsu, muay thai, etc) or crunches and similar exercises.

But yeah it's better to train with weights. Poly articular exercises like Dead lifts, Squats, chin-up and Bench Presses will strenghten your core real good

Some muscles part are tough to work on for some people, just like abs. Very strict diet to be able to have at least 4% body fat. The situation body looks like a blow up doll. I prefer to keep it lean and sleek and it is going to be tough when we get older as metabolism goes down; look at Arnold.
