  • Anyone who would call P90x useless is the same person who will toss it aside and do nothing instead.

    P90X is a great workout and diet program. If you do it (and are able to), you WILL get nice results.

    Sure, it is not the best program and the man's information is not exactly to be taken verbatim, but if you have the will to actually get through the program, you will not be disappointed.

    I am living proof of this.

    I'm going to restart this thing up but this time? I have a goal, previously I was just doing it to do it, and not really focusing on a personal reason for doing it.

    I think that's what you need when you work as hard as for P90X.

    Mine is that I've been fat for far too long and I'm getting bigger as the weeks go by.

    I'm going to put pictures of myself as a fat lard on my wall, so whenever I give up I remind myself of what happen when I do

  • @crusnchill Just keep at it. Its more the nutrition than the workouts. The workouts are meant to be tough but if you can follow a sound nutrition program than you will get results.

  • @psjk1979 Its a series of workouts that you do for 90 days. It comes with a schedule and diet plan. The diet starts off with lower carbs but it too changes every 3 weeks.  By the end of the program you are eating very balanced meals. I personally like low - moderate carbs. If I am eating high carbs I eat low fat - If I am eating low carb I eat high fat. Now days I eat low carb the majority of the time except pre and post workout.

  • @kidri0t You're kinda right. I'm 6 ft and love P90X, but it's hard to get results for me and I work my ass off. I was doing great but stopped last summer because my Dad got sick with cancer and died Aug 2009. I think I need to get back on it now.

  • OK! my biggest question. workout is fine, but the food. if I dont live in america, where I cannot get those american style food p90x suggested, what should I do? some country dont eat cheese, some dont eat chicken, some dont eat protein bar, specially protein bar cannot be purchased easily out side of USA.

  • @avatarizz - I would not use fat burners until you are close to your goal and talk to your doc.

  • @avatarizz Like Tony says in the video; "do your best and forget the rest". Everyday you show up and push play, you'll just start to get better and stronger. Consistency is they key and over time you will see! I'm on week 11 and there are still some things I can't do as well as I would like (flexibility), but I keep going. You'll reach your goal, as long as you don't quit.

  • You people dont get it do you? your results entirely depend on what you eat and how hard you workout during this program, if you do weight that you can easily get 15 reps on then you need to go heavier so that you can barely get 8-10 reps..that how you gain muscle mass...if you lift light with more reps you get leaner..heavier with less reps you get muscle mass..and take protein all day long..yes you get better results if you already have the muscle..thats just common sense if you think about it

  • The whole program is common sense - 3 days of cardio and 3 days of weights plus good food = Results!!

  • I just started the first day 2 days ago, even skipped the chin ups because I don't have a bar, but I"m still sore and I think I may have a pinched nerve in my shoulder. I can barely move my arm and I can't sleep because it's so painful.

    Is this normal? What do you reccomend doing for the first week for someone who hasn't worked out in a very very long time?

  • @DJ80s if you've never worked out in your life, or have taken a long break...say 2-4 weeks before working out again, your muscles will be more sore than usual to the point where it's even painful for a week.

    I suggest going easy and mastering the form slowly before "bringing it". If you're able to master the form in the first or second week then you'll have another 10 weeks of even better results. I also suggest doing the Stretch X video on the rest day to improve flexibility.

  • Its just different - shorter workouts - lighter weights and more reps.

  • I was a gymnast for years prior to P90x. P90x is not a bodybuilding program but it will give the foundation to develop an athletic build.

  • @p90x4lifewaswrong How so - I did the program and followed the diet plan to 18 months. Not trying to fool anyone. Don't work for beachbody and am not a BB coach as it is not available for people in Canada.

  • I assume you have a past history of heavy iron training? You came to Day 1 heavily muscled. You came out on Day90 leaner because of a structured diet and higher calorie burn from the P90X workout, but you cannot build much muscle doing living room exercises.

  • it seems like the people that look best after p90x are guys that came in already with a lot of muscle mass just covered in body fat. maybe it would be best to train in phases, a couple months of lifting heavy and bulking up big and then a couple months of p90x to strip away the fat. what do you think?

  • @ everyone - It wasn't like I had a ton of weight to loose. I followed the diet very strictly and rarely changed/subsituted a workout. I had a good foundation before P90x - it was just hidden by fat.

  • I actually started taking Gold standard whey protein...I usually only take 1 shake a day after back/chest/arms workouts...people have been telling me to take them every day 2x before and after every workout...I'm getting pretty cut...I'm on day 50...but I have to stop for a bit because I have a bad back and I have to do 2 weeks of PT before I begin again...I don't look at it as 90 days though so no worries!

  • Do you take protein/creatine after EVERY Workout? I have been taking whey after core workouts back/chest/leg/arms....yoga/st­retch/plyo/kenpo/core synergetics I dont. I feel like I am getting too skinny.
