This actually was highly informative. Sonic isn't interested in Amy simply because he isn't interested. What Sam Speed said about doing all of the running making him forgetful at times also was helpful (though Sonic was clearly bothered when he said to Bokkun that he made him late for Amy). Outside of not so gentle persuasion, Sonic just has other things on his mind at the current time (though he still cares deeply about keeping a promise).
