Partly why everyone calls all Death Metal, Deathcore now is kind of like how a Square can be a Rectangle, but a Rectangle cannot be a square. All death metal, could be definition be considered Deathcore. But it doesn't work both ways.

I'd call this Melodeath moreso than anything, although at their core this is a metalcore band.

'core' implies a significant influence of 90's hardcore, and deathmetal predates that by almost 10 years.

Vital Remains, on the other hand, was a black metal act.

So no, they weren't influenced by grindcore.

Which is fine and dandy, because grindcore and deathcore have very little intentionally in common.

another good practicing tip for vocal fry is to hold your finger directly in front of your open mouth and practice breath under and over it quickly without moving your jaw or mouth.

drinking semi warm water is also useful

DO NOT practice for hours on end. even if you are singing as that will damage vocal chords
