has anyone come across an opponent posting straight up an you,in omoplata position continue holding the elbow legs locked rolling over your shoulder , opponent landing on his back you sitting on his chest,is this called reverse omoplata,
I agree. I've seen many many attempts in MMA over the last decade, never a finish. I had to watch on a youtube to see what they were actually trying to go for in the end. You bend your arm of your opponent backwards like you do with a kimura, just with your legs instead. Cool move. Would love to see someone finish with it one day.
this move works and is very reliable. it mightve been a good idea to demonstrate keeping control of the hand/arm your attacking on the right side so it doesnt slip out as you spin around, giving your opponent the guard pass.
If anyone has ever been able to do the following please message me back and tell me if you were successful or not. The situation is where the opponent ducks his head against an armbar from the guard. You retaliate by securing an omaplata from the position.
Stop putting the guy down, a good fighter would add this to his arsenal, you just don't know what you are gonna do sometimes. If you can't grab his wrist, how can you do a kimura? Plus, the omo plata is better looking than a kimura. Nice move.
Seems very unreliable, you're banking on not only him planting his arm into that position but leaving his other hand in the other position without making any attempts to pass, control, or even pull out.
Why was your partner so pissed off at the mat?

You block with your elbow to his tricep? is this how to trap his arm in the omoplata.

If i would use that move as a go to
sub (Plan A), I would bridge so he can post,
then go for it. Eather way if u miss u got
a triangle(Plan B), or if the triangle dosent work,
you got an armlock (Plan C).

I have no idea what it is called but it's a perfect position to pull off a triangle from mount.
ArnelaHILTIsthlm has a video called "omoplata svep" I think which shows what you talked about

you must grab the arm to do the omoplata. if you leave the arm away, the oponent probably will go to the side control.

it's OK but no decent BJJer would ever put their hand on the floor like that

Rarely finish with them, but good to get better positions.

this move is extremely useful. i remember when shogun used it against arona, helped him maneuver past arona and gain better position.

ditto, if you get the hand on the ground like that just go for kimura

it's much easier to do an omo plata on a person much stronger than you

a lot of wrestlers like to put their hand down like that, they just don't know any better.
