With a propeller despite the direct drive element, it still seems like it would be just as efficient as a chain, cause if you have an optimal sized propeller then you get as much energy as you can pushing it, without much energy lost to anything else other than air friction while its going around.
@SlavaVB it makes 16 pounds of thrust and yes direct drive would work better but thats not the point i know about 10 people with homemaid minibikes and 1 with a propeller on it (me)
I thought you might accidently stick your foot into the prop when you saddled up on the bicycle. It seems like a possible safety issue to look at. be careful.
seems it wouldn't push out much air for pushing a man and a bike. its also just reving the engine. unless its modified, it wont last real long at full throttle with not much resistance. but still cool
put ur dick in the blade ;)

@SlavaVB Absolutely correct! Not the same for acceleration from ZERO, but for moving bike it is so.

do you know how many pounds of thrust this gives? is hooking it up to the wheel better?

Hahaha add wings, elevators, ailerons, a rudder and make the prop a lot bigger. . . No more biking to the store lol

A foot chopper. Watch how he mounts the bike. Accident waiting to happen. People are just fighting hard to win those Darwin Awards.

so you take a weedwacker engine and put it on the bike...but instead of attacting it to the chain and gears you just put a propeller on it?
its a good idea but still...attach it to the wheel

What speed range did it have?
I'm building my own and i need to get the gear ratios right.
Keep up the good work :)

I seen one years ago where the guy had the blade on the front with no protection, If he fucked up his face would have been, well you know

chains deliver 99 percent of the energy, and don't make this much noise.

Sticking the foot over the bike bike on this bike could be a bit of a safety issue..

All I see is a guy peddling off into the sunset on a bike. The video doesn't demonstrate that the prop will drive the bike at all.

Dude screw the fan and use a belt or a chain.....its still a cool idea no1 has a fanbike...hahahahha

I built this bike and previously built one with a Stihl 028 chainsaw engine with a 3 speed transmition!!!

you need to think up engineering design that is less noisey

put a bigger prop on or buy a bicycle engine kit.

ya i helped build it and ride it so if you wana see it at full speed do a search on fanbike and leave a comment
