Three lines. Heartbreaking, heartwarming, heartmelting, comforting, worrying... so completley worthy of Gaius and of the whole Merlin series...

You used them brilliantly, those three lines.

I wouldn't say Merlin's becoming darker.... he's becoming braver and more confident than he once was... as if he understands and accepts his destiny more than he did in the beginning.

Beautiful! And I totally agree with you! I feel like Merlin's really been given the short end of the stick this season, it was worse then the shove that Arthur gave him at the end of season 3, and he really risked his neck for the prat so Arthur could completely ignore him.
