thes fantails were a favourite with pidgeon racers in the uk .they would put a fantail on the floor outside thier pidgeon shed to bring in the racing birds sometimes the bird was held in hand and made to flap its wings .this always atracted the racing birds in to the loft every second counts in timing the birds of a race
OH! I see... they CAN move their heads up straight, they just carry them really low on their backs... I've been completely baffled by the physiology of fancy pigeons for some time now, and these videos are helping me understand how these birds manage to live and function with such warped bodies.
I just realized that too because of this video!! I always thought it would be hard for them to eat, but now that I know they can move their heads up, it makes sense.

i use to have two blue bar fantail...but my cousin wanted it to start a flock so...i gave them to him...
