there is no such machine gun as a m243 or m242, its a m240B and the reasons the Marines are in "full combat gear" is because you are required to wear a flak jacket and kevlar helmet when operating or riding in a tactical vehicle such as a humvee, the 240 and 50 cal are used in Indoor Simulated Marksmanship Training (ISMT), the machineguns are hooked up to a computer and fire simulated rounds at a projector screen.They can't fire real rounds but can be mounted to vehicles...

They had the weapons in the vehicles, before I got out of my truck and started filming. It was just a matter of a few minutes after I started filming that the Marines left. Why? They were ordered to do so, by their commanders. They obviously weren't counting on any oppostion to their martial law conditioning stunt! That's why they left.

It's been announced that the military is going to start helping the Police and EMS at car wrecks pulling people out of the cars with "the jaws of life." Exactly! We had an M16 simulator in my old unit, but it was attached to a screen. It was similar to an arcade game, but it also simulated the recoil of the weapon. What I saw as I drove up in the parking lot were Marines hurriedly removing what appeared to be real weapons from the turrets on top of their HMMVs. If I had rolled up 2 minutes sooner, I would have gotten it on tape. If the Marines weren't doing anything wrong and the weapons were fake- why were they ordered to leave in such a hurry?

Many of the good folks involved in Toys for Tots are people who risked life and limb in Iraq, putting themselves in danger trying to keep from harming children when many of the people they were fighting would place them in the way while taking potshots from shadows.
That said, the use of this program does invite abuse. We should NEVER have a people USED to seeing the military in the civilian sector... and the public display of hardware is pure PR.

I think you are making a mountain out of a molehill painterbw. This is the season that the Marines go all out for their Toys for Tots program. They can always be seen in their BDU's at these events. They are NOT roaming the streets in full battle gear. Sure it looked like one Marine came up in a Molle plate carrier, but battle gear? I think not.

If you'll go back and look at the video, you'll see one Marine with helmet and flak jacket. You'll see two with soft caps and Molle. When I drove up I saw them taking the mounted 242 off of one HMMV. They had it off the vehicle and inside the Hummer, before I could get it on video. There is no need for this kind of display. Marines in dress blues and BDUs are okay, but what I saw was over the top! The first step towards martial law is conditioning people to accept martial law. That is a NO-GO!!!

First the guys speaking in the video knows nothing. Those are not armored Hummers (no armor at all) and the 50 cals they use for computer simulation are 90% or more a real 50 cal but they can't be used as a machine gun. They are made to look and feel real so they use real 50 cal parts. I'd trust the Marine over that guy talking any day.
Second I would feel 100% safer at a Toys R Us with armed Marines than without.

Being a former Marine, I was involved with Toys for Tots in Dallas several years ago. They only wore utilities (no helmets or flake jackets). Only 6 byes (2 1/2 ton) trucks were used. No weapons were mounted on any trucks. BTW these Marines were outstanding.
My question: If these Marine's weapons are for show only with no firing pins; don't they know they could be assaulted and their weapons taken away by a armed subversive group?

there is no such machine gun as a m243 or m242, its a m240B and the reasons the Marines are in "full combat gear" is because you are required to wear a flak jacket and kevlar helmet when operating or riding in a tactical vehicle such as a humvee, the 240 and 50 cal are used in Indoor Simulated Marksmanship Training (ISMT), the machineguns are hooked up to a computer and fire simulated rounds at a projector screen.They can't fire real rounds but can be mounted to vehicles...

They had the weapons in the vehicles, before I got out of my truck and started filming. It was just a matter of a few minutes after I started filming that the Marines left. Why? They were ordered to do so, by their commanders. They obviously weren't counting on any oppostion to their martial law conditioning stunt! That's why they left.

1.) Those Marines were representing themselves as a Marine by wearing a Battle Dress Uniform and a Ceremonial Uniform.
2.) Those aren't real weapon, they're simulator, suppose to have the effect of shooting the real one. I just got back from the Virtual Army Base and shot one of them.
3.) The Marines are there to receive toy donations from local people so they could hands it out to the poor children.

Exactly! We had an M16 simulator in my old unit, but it was attached to a screen. It was similar to an arcade game, but it also simulated the recoil of the weapon. What I saw as I drove up in the parking lot were Marines hurriedly removing what appeared to be real weapons from the turrets on top of their HMMVs. If I had rolled up 2 minutes sooner, I would have gotten it on tape. If the Marines weren't doing anything wrong and the weapons were fake- why were they ordered to leave in such a hurry?

In Israel, Israeli kids use magic markers to sign military cannon rounds with messages to the Palestinians who are to be shot with those rounds and killed. I am a vet, and I'd like to say this.
Many of the good folks involved in Toys for Tots are people who risked life and limb in Iraq, putting themselves in danger trying to keep from harming children when many of the people they were fighting would place them in the way while taking potshots from shadows.
That said, the use of this program does invite abuse. We should NEVER have a people USED to seeing the military in the civilian sector... and the public display of hardware is pure PR.

They are NOT roaming the streets in full battle gear. Sure it looked like one Marine came up in a Molle plate carrier, but battle gear? I think not.
I'm not saying Marshall Law isn't a possibility but in that video they looked pretty harmless. More likely good PR for recruitment purposes. No Panic!

If you'll go back and look at the video, you'll see one Marine with helmet and flak jacket. You'll see two with soft caps and Molle. When I drove up I saw them taking the mounted 242 off of one HMMV. They had it off the vehicle and inside the Hummer, before I could get it on video. There is no need for this kind of display. Marines in dress blues and BDUs are okay, but what I saw was over the top! The first step towards martial law is conditioning people to accept martial law. That is a NO-GO!!!

Yes, as a matter of fact Alex Jones is talking about another money bomb. Obama will be worse than Bush, so AJ will need more money to fight him. As for the video, the guns were removed as I drove up in the parking lot. So, I didn't get them on film. I did get Marines in flak jacets & helmets. The Marines didn't deny that they had guns mounted on the HMMVs. Instead the Marines said that the guns weren't real. If the guns weren't real, why the Marines wouldn't let us see the guns? Seems suspicious

They are American's just like me and you , they love this country just like me and you . I wore that same uniform in combat and I'm damn proud of it . I think we'll be ok for a good long time from now . you may disagree if so that's fine .

Thank you, and thanks for your comments. This needs to happen across the nation! Anywhere that the military show up battle-ready the people should go out, and ask them why they are taking an agressive posture? Why they are out in public "under arms?" What is the threat? Please be nice about it, because the people in the military are your countrymen, but just let them know that this isn't acceptable behavior in a Republic. If the American people did this in mass, then it would stop happening.

First the guys speaking in the video knows nothing. Those are not armored Hummers (no armor at all) and the 50 cals they use for computer simulation are 90% or more a real 50 cal but they can't be used as a machine gun. They are made to look and feel real so they use real 50 cal parts. I'd trust the Marine over that guy talking any day.
Second I would feel 100% safer at a Toys R Us with armed Marines than without.

Being a former Marine, I was involved with Toys for Tots in Dallas several years ago. They only wore utilities (no helmets or flake jackets). Only 6 byes (2 1/2 ton) trucks were used. No weapons were mounted on any trucks. BTW these Marines were outstanding.
My question: If these Marine's weapons are for show only with no firing pins; don't they know they could be assaulted and their weapons taken away by a armed subversive group?
Sorry but the worse compromise is an unknown compromise.

BTW When any Marine puts on a utility duty belt; he or she is "Under Arms" weather they are armed or not. Their cover can't be removed even if they are indoors.
