  • yes, EVERYTHING happens because of God. Not just the tabla playing.

  • I dont know much of the tabla technicalities. But i read in James Kippen's website that Tari Khan's guru (Shaukat Hussain) had strong links to Delhi tradition of playing aswell as Punjab. So you have good ears to spot the Delhi connection.

  • I believe the Punjab Gharana, which can be more experienced in its purity by listening to Ustad Allah Rakha's branch of students, as the notes and bols are very clear, while the kaidas or fisxed compositions to not have a certain swing bu are straight-forwardly recited and played.

However, in the Shaukat Hussain Khan branch, fixed compositions are experienced with more lively dagga-emphasized expressions- the Delhi Gharana influence, but their bols are very clear- like Punjab Gharana.

  • Maestros like Tari Khan, are familiar with most styles of playing but he primarily plays punjab gharana. If you think about it there are several people wanting to compare Tari and Zakir but their roots are the same. Mian Quadir Baksh taught both Mian Shaukat Hussain Khan and Ustad Allah Rakha, these two ustads were the teachers of Tari and Zakir respectively. So his main focus is definitely Punjab Gharana.

  • Ustad Tari puts a liveliness in tabla like no other Ustad can do. None other!

  • Insane insane..he is a real class..putting Jhaptall in Ruppak..blew me away completely. Let put him against our Zakir Khan Saahib or Swapan Chakraborty or Kumar Bose.

  • very very well done Khan Sahib. Maza aya gaya.

  • The nagma on the harmonium is something like this: S(This is sam)-NdNDG,M-D-N- S(This is sam again)

  • i played this and ur notes doesnt sound lik this.

  • put it in this format

    Sa r1 g1 M p d1 n1 Sa

  • S N-d m-d m-g, m d N

    1 2 3 4 5 6 7

  • The harmonium guy is giving our Tari Sahab trouble lol

  • The melody he is playing on the Harmonium is Sa, komal Ga, Shuddha Ma, Komal Dha, Shuddha Ni. This Raga is Chandrakauns, which the only seperation from Raga Malkauns is Shuddha Ni instead of Komal Ni.

  • how do you play this on a harmonium in sarega format? thanks

  • love my uncle tari.

  • excellent ! kiabaate !

  • Wonderful....

  • Really Nice and clear That is the Style of Ustad Tari. I have these video. Can some one tell me what tune is being played on the harmonium???

  • I think it is called a "LEHARA" based in the raag MALKAUNS

  • So much clarity in his playing.

  • What note he's play ?
