what i think happended to the world is this: god created dinosaurs as animals, but after seing there voilent it didn't seem good for humans so god destroyd the dinosaurs by make the end of the world ( the judgment day ) for the dinos and he recreated the animals more peacefuly and less dangerous and less scrarier then before, after seing that everything is fine and seems good, he created the humans, god said in the bible by Adam and Eve but in the Quran he said by a drop of blood

This video primarily focuses on how bipedalism (standing and walking on two feet) relates us to apes by a common ancestor. You're right, we're not apes, but we came from the same ancestral species as apes.

As far as sentience goes, I think Maxis's game "Spore" gives an interesting theory as to how our ancestral species may have gained a conscious mind. Overtime, as evolution caused our ancestors to to develop more complex bodies and abilities, so too, did we develop a more complex brain and abilities to rationalize what we do in thought, rather than instinct.
