Even though 1964 was the year of the Beatles (in the USA), two of my all-time favorite songs ae from that year and they're not even Beatle songs, although both are by English artists. One is "A Summer Song," by Chad & Jeremy,and the other is this classic song--"Don't Let the Sun Catch You Crying." What a classic--back when singers could actually carry a tune.
