freestyle does not equal lyrics that you wrote, over a different beat with no cuts. a freestyle is where you may or may not use some written lines, and the rest is "off the dome". same with battles, an emcee "might' use some written, generalized lines to connect to a punchline or keep the flow.

if you want to know what a freestyle is, watch a good emcee battle and you'll know how much improvisation is in a "good" freestyle.
