  • People wonder why I disable comments after a week. The comments for the first 5 days are insightful and intelligent then they go downhill fast.

  • Scooby - I must praise you. That is without doubt the most uncomfortable way to perform internal and external rotators cuff exercises that I have ever seen. They should be done standing, and preferably using a physio-band (they come in different strengths). That way, the tension on your shoulder is constand and does not change through the range of motion. But what I'd really like to see, is you posting an honest description of your roid cycle!

  • This guys videos are hilarious. I love the unstated assumption that doing push-ups, light fly exercises etc will help you look like him - a guy who has been taking roids for years. Nice gyno mate!

  • Almost everyone gest gyno when they reach 50. He cant be 30 forever.

  • roids?

  • Scoobs you're probably thinking of internal and external rotation?

Rotator cuff muscles are: teres minor, supra & infraspinatus and subscapularis

You are totally right, once you properly prang your shoulder it pretty much will never be the same again surgery or not, so everyone head his advice!

  • damn hes gay..

  • What would that have to do with giving excellent fitness advice?

  • why havn't you got body hair? i wish i didnt, i hate it..

  • I haven't ever seen a body builder that has got body hair, so I'm sure they shave it

  • i love Ryan Reynolds shoulders he has them the best one

  • tip to everyone... LISTEN TO HIS ADVICE HERE!

this is very true, i didnt do enough of this stuff and damaged both shoulders. once you wreck em it takes a lot more of these to go back than when youre normal.

  • nice rear delts!

  • Were you born without the ability to grow body hair? Your vids are great tho =D

  • ......he just shaves lol

  • Yesterday i tried the Twenty Ones for bicep first time ever... ameazing feeling i could really feel that pump. by the way can you go with same method for other exercises like triceps or shoulder exercises.

  • You face is like fucked up ugly.. but you got a good body

  • hey scoob, i got a question 4 ya,now i totally understand the benifits of doing this workout, but i'm not so sure u should be doing them on the ground like that, when i hurt my shoulder at work i did this workout in physio standing up and useing rubber band(workout ones) and it helped alot just want to know your take on this....i feel that lying down just wouldn't work as good.....great vids man keep it up

  • hey...i'm a female of 18...

my body is moscular although i never went to gym or did workouts...i just run and walk a lot in the hills...

id like to know what can i do to define muscles...

i went to see a gym recently but the trainers dont really consider me and give me premade programs without seeing in which way its best to work on my body...

    could u help?

  • cool setup. how much weight would u suggest for the beginning?

  • американсий коксакер

  • nice tits

  • мудак какойто)))

  • scooby i have pain in both shoulders and am nervous about what it is.But i keep on working out.

  • losing my lunch here

  • Your videos have been really helpfull to me.

I´m 47 years old,6´2´´225 pounder in pretty similar physical condition to yours, but with a lot less knowlege and imagination then you...and your information, besides beeing usefull is rather comendable for ur will and trouble to share it.

Your advanced program is quite efficient and the exercices are creative.

I appreciatte ur honesty and coherence.

    Well done.

    All the best to you.

Thank you very much, all the way from Portugal

  • Thanks lusitann from Portugal!

  • he looks like Scooby Doo :D

  • he has tits :D

  • Brother domstaedter92, every human being does. No human being is one to objectize. Keep your comments clean and respectful please. Great work Scooby!

  • ah shoulder insurance lol

  • I like the beach background, you should do all your vids from there.

  • these burn more than i thought. i have a dodgy shoulder and these are going to help repair/build this, thanks

  • u do gain muscle...within the rotator cuff...

  • you might gain an ounce or two but certainly not pounds of muscle.

  • ye true because it doesn't have the capacity to grow really big but is still an important muscle which needs stregthenin*** just as much as the other but ye dude your videos are awesome...

  • Right on brother!

  • Another great vid Scooby. I have a bad right shoulder, it's been that way for as long as I can remember. I've been training for about 6months now and your vids have helped me not get injured. I workout in a small gym and I had my chest exercises sorted where I was doing them on the floor, unfortunately one large guy who comes in sometimes gave me the "you get more being able to drop your arms past horizontal". Now I've aggravated my shoulder again. I need to learn to stand up for myself more.

  • scooby I wanted to ask you if its ok to take creatine??

  • testor1988: I personally believe, as Scooby does, that the only supp's you even need are whey protein powder.....that's it......visit his website for more info, it's quite informative

  • THOSE Dumbells look heavy D:

  • Great Video. Thank you Scooby..

  • Thanx a lot Scooby for all the GREAT tips and videos. God Bless You.

  • Yes it is very very important, and congratulations for all your video; your are amazing and very sympathic man he seel to me you are in progress on your muscular mass :-))

  • is there and exercise that is capable of increasing the size on the shoulder just to keep it in balance witht the biceps ??

  • there are many at his other vids.

  • tks scooby from brasil

  • great vid, where was this excersise in highschool? thanks for posting.

  • Hey there, keep on the great vids scooby!

About the nutrition video, my question is : why salmon and not other fishes? Some fishes are arround 0,2g of Fat each 100g, isnt that much better than 10g each 100g of fat just like salmon? thanks scooby.

  • the fat in salmon is good for you essential fatty acids which is only in certain types of fish

  • thanks scooby... god bless ya brother...

  • Could these not be done standing with cable pulleys?

  • If you have access to cables, you can use them. I still prefer to do them with dumbbells though. Too easy to get all bouncy-jerky with the cables.

  • i saw how the first time your right biceps flex....that means you were not fully relaxed as you sad at the begining

  • Hey scooby, I'm 18 years old, 5'8, 145 pounds. I've decided its time to get bigger and have started to begin weight training very recently. Any good ideas for someone my age just starting off looking to gain a lot of muscle over time? thanks!

  • how are you bro im 16 im 6'2 and i recently weighed in on 86.4kg and i started on the 23rd of january at 75.6kg wanna know my secret its 50/50 50 percent eating 50 percent training if your not gnna put that extra rep set or even meal in a day dont do it just hard work LOTS OF EATING and dedication starters usually give up because the results dont come fast enough stick with it for about a year and watch the KILOS roll in

  • take some weeks off and buy a TV with the money you didnt spend on a shoulder surgery

  • how often do you do this exercise?

  • It is possible to use cables in this exercise?

  • yes, its the same motion :)

  • but dont go to hard on them because cheating is easier with cables :P

  • great video, this encourages me to do this exercise at my local gym.

    insurance is always good! :)

  • will i feel sore the morning?

  • Thanks very much everyone

  • Thanks scooby cool towel too. Haven't put a lot of thought towards injury prevention. Hope to see some more important injury prevention exercises!

  • hey! can you please suggest some exercises for muscles next to shoulders to cover collar bones ?

  • upright rows

  • hey thanks.. but i think that's for delts and shoulders

  • oh sorry i thought you were trying to describe your traps as the muscle you wanted to do

  • 'innie' movement = 'adduction', a movement that brings a limb closer to the body

'outie' movement = 'abduction', a movement that moves a limb away from the body

according to the DVD on piano technique by NY professor Seymour Fink that i have.

  • thanks from Spain buddy!!

  • Great video,I will I will definitely "insure my shoulders"

  • i recently just got a dislocated shoulder and im out for like 3 months wish i saw this video earlier -_-

  • Scooby, on one video you said there are no side affects with whey protein.

Too much protein will destroy your liver.

But thats the only side affect haha, i hope my liver doesnt get destroyed, i started taking whey when i was 13 and now im 15

  • You shouldn't be taking more than 3 scoops a day. You should still be getting protein from food..most of it..just a little bit from protein..and you should use 100% whey protein..like Optimum Nutrition..I recommend the Double Rich Chocolate

  • Drinking too much water will kill you, that does not make death a side effect of drinking water. Same with dairy whey. Almost anything consumed in excess is a poison.

  • hello scooby. I think you put up excellent vids, thanks! I have a question concerning pushups because I can't comment on that video. I use the pushup bars and i was wondering if I should go all the way down and touch my chest. some people say that you're only supposed to touch your chest without the pushup bars. one guy said that if you touch your chest against the ground during incline pushups or with pushup bars then you you can damage your shoulder muscles. What is the correct way? Thanks!

  • Don't go all the way down, as you will hyperextend your shoulders. Only lower yourself to the point where your upper arms are parallel to the floor.

Also see Scooby's site under Exercises > Chest where he shows the correct movement with pictures and clips.

  • I dont know if you saw what scooby has written or if he answered you ,but he said once a week, if you didnt know...

  • your the man scoobs!

  • Love ur vids Scooby!

please make more vids and show different exercises for training the rotator cuff shoulder muscles.

  • I do these same movements with the adjustable pullies...ALWAYS do them before I start my shoulder workouts

seems like laying down would be a pain when you can achieve the same movement standing up

  • Most people who use my website and watch my videos work out at home and dont have access to cables. If you do have cables, they are OK to use but be really careful as its easy to be jerky and use momentum (dangerous) with the cables.

  • I learned about these a few years ago and have been doing them since and have never come close to an injury. The technique is tight as well, this is a good refresher. I'm really impressed with the vid!

  • hahaha "THIS MEANS YOU" i love this guy

  • are you gay ?

  • why would he be gay ?

  • its very obv... they way he talks, that talking gnome and he always worryed about safty just like a chick.

  • vasyasol:.........I'm gonna be your Grandma, but if you don't have anything good to say (in this case actually pertinent to the video) don't say anything at all........your seriously missing the point here

  • i say what i want shhh

  • Would you do these exercises at the end of a shoulder workout?

    I do it like this..

    Shoulder/Tricep

    Back

    Rest

    Legs

    Chest/Biceps

I just have no idea where would be a good time to add these exercises in.

  • this is just me slasher 9105, but I would not bother with trying to "fit them" into a workout......just get a light dumbell from wal-mart and do them once or twice a week whenever you have time, since they can't be too demanding.......more of a saftey exercise then an actuall workout....know what I mean?

  • Hmm.. That makes sense.

  • hey scooby what do you think of p90x?

  • great video, thanks scooby

  • Hey Scoob, would it be more beneficial or more detrimental to rotate your wrists as you do those exercises? What effect would that have?

  • Yeah, like someone said below, please could you do a decent warming up video, thanks in advance! Also great video by the way.

  • if you have a cable machine that can adjust its height, you can do these there too

  • nice job man, these exercises are good for tennis

  • Good job scooby, you don't just show people how to build muscle or lose weight but also how to keep themselves injury free. Great Job!

  • Thanks Scoob

  • hey scooby man i want to thank you a lot, I have already lost 6.2 pounds with your training tipps and tricks, and i'm doing these for two weeks now, so:

    THANK YOU!!!

oh and that's a great exercise!

  • Thanks a lot Mr. Scooby. That is extremely useful, especially for people with a smaller skeletal frame and the tendency to injure the rotator cuff. Looking great and very nice view.

  • so this really don't put on muscle? I'm kind of confused towhat your saying

  • airsoftnar128: This exercise works small muscles which are not going to add any visible mass. It is purely to develop shoulder stability to prevent injury, so that you don't lose out on muscle gain through not being able to train.

  • sexmaticveganfreak: can't put it any better then that..........if you don't understand this, watch the first minute of the video over and over.............you will eventually get it lol

  • Hey airsoftnar128, When humor interferes with clarity, its bad humor. I thought the title of the video was funny but it obviously caused confusion to you and others. I have re-titled the video with a more accurate and descriptive title.

  • well the titles funny i give it that, But i just was confused to what it did should have paid closer attention thanks for the help=]

your videos help me out alot so thanks man

  • Your a legend scoobes!! I slightly enjured my shoulder about two months ago and I've been looking for something to build some strength since then.

Just one request - I would love it if you could do a complete wartm up video to show the best way to get ready for a session. There doesn't seem to be much out there for warmups.

  • how often should i do this?

  • this is just called a rotation right? external and internal rotations

  • No, they are called innies and outies :)

  • awsome as always

do u have anything to do with chin ups?

  • If i'm 14 years old, 155 pounds and 6 feet how mush does the dumbbell have to weight ??

  • Scooby, thank you for creating these videos and the wealth of information you give us for free. I've gained a lot from watching you and have told others to check you out because you are the REAL deal. Keep it up man, you're my hero.

  • kroplis

  • Thanks a whole lot for your videos, scooby, you are doing the world a real service! :)

  • thanks man. this is really wonderful

  • Got your Shirts thanks a bunch scooby I'll have to send a pic of me and my friend wearing them to you.

  • i'm really glad you did a video talking a bit about stabalising muscles....

i had heard somewhere that when for eg, doing dungbell press, its good to do each arm seperately to help build up stabalisor muscles in your back and shoulder, which dont get used when using both dungbells because of how the 2 ballance each other out.

    is this true?

  • Thank you for this video! I've been dying for an exercise like this. I dislocated my shoulder twice previously due to improper form, and its a little nerve racking. This should help with both safety and my confidence.

  • Hey Scooby

I really like all your videos ! You do a great job. Realy appreciate your attitude and your philosophy. Keep up the good work !

    Alles klar !?! from Germany

    Thanks man !

  • That hat, with those shorts. someone call the fashion police

    great vidz though

  • That wasn't a gay comment at all...

  • xiomaxell im not scooby but i think you should check his Push ups video. he gives many alternative if aint ready for real push ups try on your kness until you can do real it won't take long time gl and hf :)

  • Another great video scooby, but since you are pretty massive do you have any experiance with stretch marks?

  • i'll try them out now =) i know it's a stupid spam comment but i never wrote that: thanks for your videos, i love them and they really helped me until now! i totally got into weight lifting and your exercises are simply amazing! plus they are really interesting, because you tell something about it and not just show it! please keep it up =)

  • I love your videos, great job man.

  • Great job Scooby! Keep it up.

  • thanks im glad i know that now. by the way nice beach where you live

  • assisted pullups with over arm grep are those only for lats or Bicebs to plz answer thx :D could you plz help me with my questions guys

  • he shaved his armpits, but probably made the video better because of of it, he suffers for his work lol

  • You remind of Arnold, Scooby. Massive Chest, slightly slouching shoulders, but allround a great body. Now, are you really 100% natural? Have you ever done a steroid cycle?

  • Hey janbillian, check out my website to see my philosophy. I think it will answer your questions.

  • assisted pullups with over arm grep are those only for lats or Bicebs to plz answer thx :D

  • When your hands are facing you, you use more biceps. When your hands are facing away from you, you use more lats.

  • I've noticed that as I'm getting stronger and able to do heavier weights, certain parts of me prevent max reps with that weight, specifically my wrists. So are there any exercises that can help build some wrist strength or stability to prevent my wrists from giving out?

  • I know that feeling, especially during lunges. Try lifting straps, as Scooby shows them on his site at Basics > Home Equipment.

  • i love his tits, and no sixpack =)

i wonder where he gets this workot info...

  • Don't sleep upside down. Other than that, it doesn't make any difference.

  • tonycatman: Don't sleep upside down? Darnit THAT'S where I've been going wrong all these years!

  • The beach had lots of people on it before Scooby turned up.

They all went home in shame because they realised how pasty and weedy they looked.

Most people look better with clothes on.

  • haha brilliant wish i cud live near a place like that, i am stuck in miserable scotland :(

  • scooby-doo is bad ass

  • you can see his penis at 4:52

  • get a life

  • Hey borgoff55, did you know my epidermis is showing at 2:51??? Scandalous! :)

  • Really!? No way that is awesome!! Just playing with ya scooby. Keep up the great workout videos. I would like to see an intense cardio video for advanced training...and also more strength videos like the one for chest.

  • Scooby has a sexy body.

  • scooby im more cut than big i gess u cud say and i do this 4-5 times each week:

3x6 reps of hammer bicep curls then

3x6 reps of shoulder press then

3x6 reps of chest press then

3x6 reps of tricep press then

3x6 reps of bicep curls then

3x6 reps of squats or a run

    abdominal exercises

could u tell me if this is the way to go to get bigger or is ther sumfin else i can do to get gains?

    cheers.

  • You do this exact program 4-5 x a week?

If you are a beginner, you can do whole body workouts two or three times a week. If you are advanced, you work out each body part once a week, as muscles don't grow during training, but after.

Check Scooby's site under Basics > How Often?

  • yea i go 2days work out>1day rest

so ur saying seen as ive been doin this for awhile i should strt focusing on 1 muscle group per day? and yea ima strt on the advanced workout in bowt a week coz mi bro is getn a new bench in.

  • Hey casanova218, you need to be very careful of overtraining.

  • scooby could u plz advise me on wat to do or wat to change?

  • nice beach

  • hey scooby i have been leaving comments for you to get back to me but have not had no luck please get back to me with this one, I have been lifting for around 8 months now at first i was getting sore the next day after working out but just lately i have not been getting sore at all i have been pushing out as many reps as i can on my bench press witch is around 8 - 10 reps of 72kg - 158.4lb any ideas cheers scooby

  • Hey saw your question, just thought i'd dip in. It's not always a good thing to be gettin sore but it helps you to know your workout 'worked'. not being sore after a workout doesn't mean its a bad thing. . . the 1 ? is though are your stuck on a certain weight or not seeing any more gains???

  • Im no scooby but ill give my 10 cents.

Ive had the same things happen to me before. You need to mix your routine up. Do some new exercises, do things in a different order, and try to lift 80% of your 1 rep max. By doing this i saw that stiffness the day after come back letting me know i hit my muscles :-)

  • It's exactly as noonez2001 says: Soreness is just one indicator of a good workout. More important is: Can you up the number of reps? Can you up the weight little by little? That's progress.

And if you benchpressed for eight months it might be a good idea to go for some other exercise. It keeps the body from getting used to the stress and helps avoiding a plateau.

  • Hey gr8888nt, you question is a very common one. If you dont get sore, does it mean that you didnt workout hard enough? Is more pain better? All covered in my next video "No pain, no gain?". Sorry its over 15min long so I cant answer your question in this little box ...

  • scooby i love your videos very much . i need some basic excercise for chest. coz push ups is a hard one.

or tell me any easy way for push ups.

  • scooby, whats your take on training until failure?

  • training to failure? Covered in my upcoming video! titled "No pain, no gain?"

  • something everyone can use no matter what age. Another great video from scooby.

  • just wanna ask a question i used 2 work out for hours and today i worked out and i only lasted 30mins y is that

  • im not scooby but mabey you are worn out you prob want to keep your work out for 45 min to an hour each day

  • well you need to eat the good fats not bad.

  • Mr.Scooby/people in youtube, I managed to use 25 LB Dumbbell.Does it possible for me to get 16 inches bicep with it?

  • Not really. You have to increase the weight little by little, as your biceps won't grow further if the weight isn't challenging it anymore.

  • do you know any low-calorie high protein breakfast cereals that are available in europe? any brands there that make high protein grain and dairy products?

  • Try low fat curd cheese (also called "quark" or "qvark"). 250 g of it have 30 g protein and only 170 cal. You can throw in some fruits to make it more tasty.

  • Comment removed

  • cloudinas: If you're talking about 25lbs for this exercise, that's too heavy and likely to cause an injury, and it's not a biceps exercise. The exercise is about developing shoulder stability, not muscle mass.

  • wow that desiece looks pritty scary see a doctor and see if u got it

  • another awesome video, but i have a question for you. i think i have gynecomestia and you should do a video about it

  • YOU THE MAN THX :)

  • Hey Scooby,

love the vids man keep it up! I have one question, how do BBer's go about nutrition when it comes to special occasions like birthdays or dates or whatever when you're forced to eat a meal that you cannot cook? Are they soooo dedicated to nutrition that they make there own meals lol or do they just workout more the next day?

    thanks

  • In my opinion you shouldn't forbid yourself a nice treat here and there and bringing your own food to a birthday party would be rather obsessive. Instead have that treat and then carry on as usual. As long as the scheme as a whole is still being followed, it shouldn't be a problem.

Otherwise you are in my opinion not following the no. 1 rule of fitness: Fitness is not the end, it is the means; use it to enjoy life more.

  • you are right ...if we have something fatty once in while it wont be bad..IF...we can burn the fat that we are gaining because of eating..

  • Hey GameMstr, As Evilcyber says, going off your nutrition plan one meal (or one day) now and then wont kill you. In fact, sometimes by allowing yourself a treat now and then it can prevent the desire to binge. Just dont go overboard, a treat does not mean you can pig out on pizza all day and wash it down with a case of beer :)
