Scooby - I must praise you. That is without doubt the most uncomfortable way to perform internal and external rotators cuff exercises that I have ever seen. They should be done standing, and preferably using a physio-band (they come in different strengths). That way, the tension on your shoulder is constand and does not change through the range of motion. But what I'd really like to see, is you posting an honest description of your roid cycle!
This guys videos are hilarious. I love the unstated assumption that doing push-ups, light fly exercises etc will help you look like him - a guy who has been taking roids for years. Nice gyno mate!
this is very true, i didnt do enough of this stuff and damaged both shoulders. once you wreck em it takes a lot more of these to go back than when youre normal.
Yesterday i tried the Twenty Ones for bicep first time ever... ameazing feeling i could really feel that pump. by the way can you go with same method for other exercises like triceps or shoulder exercises.
hey scoob, i got a question 4 ya,now i totally understand the benifits of doing this workout, but i'm not so sure u should be doing them on the ground like that, when i hurt my shoulder at work i did this workout in physio standing up and useing rubber band(workout ones) and it helped alot just want to know your take on this....i feel that lying down just wouldn't work as good.....great vids man keep it up
my body is moscular although i never went to gym or did workouts...i just run and walk a lot in the hills...
id like to know what can i do to define muscles...
i went to see a gym recently but the trainers dont really consider me and give me premade programs without seeing in which way its best to work on my body...
I´m 47 years old,6´2´´225 pounder in pretty similar physical condition to yours, but with a lot less knowlege and imagination then you...and your information, besides beeing usefull is rather comendable for ur will and trouble to share it.

ye true because it doesn't have the capacity to grow really big but is still an important muscle which needs stregthenin*** just as much as the other but ye dude your videos are awesome...
Another great vid Scooby. I have a bad right shoulder, it's been that way for as long as I can remember. I've been training for about 6months now and your vids have helped me not get injured. I workout in a small gym and I had my chest exercises sorted where I was doing them on the floor, unfortunately one large guy who comes in sometimes gave me the "you get more being able to drop your arms past horizontal". Now I've aggravated my shoulder again. I need to learn to stand up for myself more.
testor1988: I personally believe, as Scooby does, that the only supp's you even need are whey protein powder.....that's it......visit his website for more info, it's quite informative

Hey scooby, I'm 18 years old, 5'8, 145 pounds. I've decided its time to get bigger and have started to begin weight training very recently. Any good ideas for someone my age just starting off looking to gain a lot of muscle over time? thanks!
how are you bro im 16 im 6'2 and i recently weighed in on 86.4kg and i started on the 23rd of january at 75.6kg wanna know my secret its 50/50 50 percent eating 50 percent training if your not gnna put that extra rep set or even meal in a day dont do it just hard work LOTS OF EATING and dedication starters usually give up because the results dont come fast enough stick with it for about a year and watch the KILOS roll in
You shouldn't be taking more than 3 scoops a day. You should still be getting protein from food..most of it..just a little bit from protein..and you should use 100% whey protein..like Optimum Nutrition..I recommend the Double Rich Chocolate
Drinking too much water will kill you, that does not make death a side effect of drinking water. Same with dairy whey. Almost anything consumed in excess is a poison.
hello scooby. I think you put up excellent vids, thanks! I have a question concerning pushups because I can't comment on that video. I use the pushup bars and i was wondering if I should go all the way down and touch my chest. some people say that you're only supposed to touch your chest without the pushup bars. one guy said that if you touch your chest against the ground during incline pushups or with pushup bars then you you can damage your shoulder muscles. What is the correct way? Thanks!
Most people who use my website and watch my videos work out at home and dont have access to cables. If you do have cables, they are OK to use but be really careful as its easy to be jerky and use momentum (dangerous) with the cables.
I learned about these a few years ago and have been doing them since and have never come close to an injury. The technique is tight as well, this is a good refresher. I'm really impressed with the vid!
vasyasol:.........I'm gonna be your Grandma, but if you don't have anything good to say (in this case actually pertinent to the video) don't say anything at all........your seriously missing the point here
this is just me slasher 9105, but I would not bother with trying to "fit them" into a workout......just get a light dumbell from wal-mart and do them once or twice a week whenever you have time, since they can't be too demanding.......more of a saftey exercise then an actuall workout....know what I mean?
hey scooby man i want to thank you a lot, I have already lost 6.2 pounds with your training tipps and tricks, and i'm doing these for two weeks now, so:
Thanks a lot Mr. Scooby. That is extremely useful, especially for people with a smaller skeletal frame and the tendency to injure the rotator cuff. Looking great and very nice view.
airsoftnar128: This exercise works small muscles which are not going to add any visible mass. It is purely to develop shoulder stability to prevent injury, so that you don't lose out on muscle gain through not being able to train.

Hey airsoftnar128, When humor interferes with clarity, its bad humor. I thought the title of the video was funny but it obviously caused confusion to you and others. I have re-titled the video with a more accurate and descriptive title.
Your a legend scoobes!! I slightly enjured my shoulder about two months ago and I've been looking for something to build some strength since then.
Just one request - I would love it if you could do a complete wartm up video to show the best way to get ready for a session. There doesn't seem to be much out there for warmups.
Scooby, thank you for creating these videos and the wealth of information you give us for free. I've gained a lot from watching you and have told others to check you out because you are the REAL deal. Keep it up man, you're my hero.
i'm really glad you did a video talking a bit about stabalising muscles....

xiomaxell im not scooby but i think you should check his Push ups video. he gives many alternative if aint ready for real push ups try on your kness until you can do real it won't take long time gl and hf :)
i'll try them out now =) i know it's a stupid spam comment but i never wrote that: thanks for your videos, i love them and they really helped me until now! i totally got into weight lifting and your exercises are simply amazing! plus they are really interesting, because you tell something about it and not just show it! please keep it up =)
You remind of Arnold, Scooby. Massive Chest, slightly slouching shoulders, but allround a great body. Now, are you really 100% natural? Have you ever done a steroid cycle?
I've noticed that as I'm getting stronger and able to do heavier weights, certain parts of me prevent max reps with that weight, specifically my wrists. So are there any exercises that can help build some wrist strength or stability to prevent my wrists from giving out?
Really!? No way that is awesome!! Just playing with ya scooby. Keep up the great workout videos. I would like to see an intense cardio video for advanced training...and also more strength videos like the one for chest.
If you are a beginner, you can do whole body workouts two or three times a week. If you are advanced, you work out each body part once a week, as muscles don't grow during training, but after.
so ur saying seen as ive been doin this for awhile i should strt focusing on 1 muscle group per day? and yea ima strt on the advanced workout in bowt a week coz mi bro is getn a new bench in.
hey scooby i have been leaving comments for you to get back to me but have not had no luck please get back to me with this one, I have been lifting for around 8 months now at first i was getting sore the next day after working out but just lately i have not been getting sore at all i have been pushing out as many reps as i can on my bench press witch is around 8 - 10 reps of 72kg - 158.4lb any ideas cheers scooby
Hey saw your question, just thought i'd dip in. It's not always a good thing to be gettin sore but it helps you to know your workout 'worked'. not being sore after a workout doesn't mean its a bad thing. . . the 1 ? is though are your stuck on a certain weight or not seeing any more gains???
Ive had the same things happen to me before. You need to mix your routine up. Do some new exercises, do things in a different order, and try to lift 80% of your 1 rep max. By doing this i saw that stiffness the day after come back letting me know i hit my muscles :-)
It's exactly as noonez2001 says: Soreness is just one indicator of a good workout. More important is: Can you up the number of reps? Can you up the weight little by little? That's progress.
And if you benchpressed for eight months it might be a good idea to go for some other exercise. It keeps the body from getting used to the stress and helps avoiding a plateau.
Hey gr8888nt, you question is a very common one. If you dont get sore, does it mean that you didnt workout hard enough? Is more pain better? All covered in my next video "No pain, no gain?". Sorry its over 15min long so I cant answer your question in this little box ...
do you know any low-calorie high protein breakfast cereals that are available in europe? any brands there that make high protein grain and dairy products?
Try low fat curd cheese (also called "quark" or "qvark"). 250 g of it have 30 g protein and only 170 cal. You can throw in some fruits to make it more tasty.
cloudinas: If you're talking about 25lbs for this exercise, that's too heavy and likely to cause an injury, and it's not a biceps exercise. The exercise is about developing shoulder stability, not muscle mass.
love the vids man keep it up! I have one question, how do BBer's go about nutrition when it comes to special occasions like birthdays or dates or whatever when you're forced to eat a meal that you cannot cook? Are they soooo dedicated to nutrition that they make there own meals lol or do they just workout more the next day?
In my opinion you shouldn't forbid yourself a nice treat here and there and bringing your own food to a birthday party would be rather obsessive. Instead have that treat and then carry on as usual. As long as the scheme as a whole is still being followed, it shouldn't be a problem.
Otherwise you are in my opinion not following the no. 1 rule of fitness: Fitness is not the end, it is the means; use it to enjoy life more.
Hey GameMstr, As Evilcyber says, going off your nutrition plan one meal (or one day) now and then wont kill you. In fact, sometimes by allowing yourself a treat now and then it can prevent the desire to binge. Just dont go overboard, a treat does not mean you can pig out on pizza all day and wash it down with a case of beer :)
People wonder why I disable comments after a week. The comments for the first 5 days are insightful and intelligent then they go downhill fast.

Don't go all the way down, as you will hyperextend your shoulders. Only lower yourself to the point where your upper arms are parallel to the floor.

You remind of Arnold, Scooby. Massive Chest, slightly slouching shoulders, but allround a great body. Now, are you really 100% natural? Have you ever done a steroid cycle?

Hey janbillian, check out my website to see my philosophy. I think it will answer your questions.

When your hands are facing you, you use more biceps. When your hands are facing away from you, you use more lats.

I've noticed that as I'm getting stronger and able to do heavier weights, certain parts of me prevent max reps with that weight, specifically my wrists. So are there any exercises that can help build some wrist strength or stability to prevent my wrists from giving out?
Sexfetus 2 years ago
I know that feeling, especially during lunges. Try lifting straps, as Scooby shows them on his site at Basics > Home Equipment.

Don't sleep upside down. Other than that, it doesn't make any difference.

The beach had lots of people on it before Scooby turned up.
They all went home in shame because they realised how pasty and weedy they looked.
Most people look better with clothes on.

3x6 reps of hammer bicep curls then
3x6 reps of shoulder press then
3x6 reps of chest press then
3x6 reps of tricep press then
3x6 reps of bicep curls then
3x6 reps of squats or a run
abdominal exercises
could u tell me if this is the way to go to get bigger or is ther sumfin else i can do to get gains?
cheers.
casanova218 2 years ago
You do this exact program 4-5 x a week?
If you are a beginner, you can do whole body workouts two or three times a week. If you are advanced, you work out each body part once a week, as muscles don't grow during training, but after.
Check Scooby's site under Basics > How Often?
Evilcyber 2 years ago
yea i go 2days work out>1day rest
so ur saying seen as ive been doin this for awhile i should strt focusing on 1 muscle group per day? and yea ima strt on the advanced workout in bowt a week coz mi bro is getn a new bench in.

hey scooby i have been leaving comments for you to get back to me but have not had no luck please get back to me with this one, I have been lifting for around 8 months now at first i was getting sore the next day after working out but just lately i have not been getting sore at all i have been pushing out as many reps as i can on my bench press witch is around 8 - 10 reps of 72kg - 158.4lb any ideas cheers scooby
gr8888nt 2 years ago
Hey saw your question, just thought i'd dip in. It's not always a good thing to be gettin sore but it helps you to know your workout 'worked'. not being sore after a workout doesn't mean its a bad thing. . . the 1 ? is though are your stuck on a certain weight or not seeing any more gains???
noonez2001 2 years ago
Im no scooby but ill give my 10 cents.
Ive had the same things happen to me before. You need to mix your routine up. Do some new exercises, do things in a different order, and try to lift 80% of your 1 rep max. By doing this i saw that stiffness the day after come back letting me know i hit my muscles :-)
SamCoreJ 2 years ago
It's exactly as noonez2001 says: Soreness is just one indicator of a good workout. More important is: Can you up the number of reps? Can you up the weight little by little? That's progress.
And if you benchpressed for eight months it might be a good idea to go for some other exercise. It keeps the body from getting used to the stress and helps avoiding a plateau.
Evilcyber 2 years ago
Hey gr8888nt, you question is a very common one. If you dont get sore, does it mean that you didnt workout hard enough? Is more pain better? All covered in my next video "No pain, no gain?". Sorry its over 15min long so I cant answer your question in this little box ...
scooby1961 2 years ago
scooby i love your videos very much . i need some basic excercise for chest. coz push ups is a hard one.
or tell me any easy way for push ups.

Mr.Scooby/people in youtube, I managed to use 25 LB Dumbbell.Does it possible for me to get 16 inches bicep with it?
cloudinas 2 years ago
Not really. You have to increase the weight little by little, as your biceps won't grow further if the weight isn't challenging it anymore.
Evilcyber 2 years ago
do you know any low-calorie high protein breakfast cereals that are available in europe? any brands there that make high protein grain and dairy products?
michaelzwarszawy 2 years ago
Try low fat curd cheese (also called "quark" or "qvark"). 250 g of it have 30 g protein and only 170 cal. You can throw in some fruits to make it more tasty.

cloudinas: If you're talking about 25lbs for this exercise, that's too heavy and likely to cause an injury, and it's not a biceps exercise. The exercise is about developing shoulder stability, not muscle mass.

Hey Scooby,
love the vids man keep it up! I have one question, how do BBer's go about nutrition when it comes to special occasions like birthdays or dates or whatever when you're forced to eat a meal that you cannot cook? Are they soooo dedicated to nutrition that they make there own meals lol or do they just workout more the next day?
thanks
GameMstr 2 years ago
In my opinion you shouldn't forbid yourself a nice treat here and there and bringing your own food to a birthday party would be rather obsessive. Instead have that treat and then carry on as usual. As long as the scheme as a whole is still being followed, it shouldn't be a problem.
Otherwise you are in my opinion not following the no. 1 rule of fitness: Fitness is not the end, it is the means; use it to enjoy life more.
Evilcyber 2 years ago
you are right ...if we have something fatty once in while it wont be bad..IF...we can burn the fat that we are gaining because of eating..
mynameismanas 2 years ago
Hey GameMstr, As Evilcyber says, going off your nutrition plan one meal (or one day) now and then wont kill you. In fact, sometimes by allowing yourself a treat now and then it can prevent the desire to binge. Just dont go overboard, a treat does not mean you can pig out on pizza all day and wash it down with a case of beer :)
