Thank you for posting this. The guy in the softcover with a cigarette as the credits roll is Sgt. Lester Klein, US Army. He was the recipient of a Silver Star, a couple Bronze Stars, and at least one Purple Heart. He was my great uncle. He passed away a few years ago.
The Marine said it looked like a baseball backstop. The one in this film looked much like the one in Saving Private Ryan. Baseball was strictly American at that time so any resemblance was probably coincidental. Another great WW2 video from 70's television was Back To Bataan (NBC production).
