i got a stampede and a rustler. the rustler got slightly smashed when i went like 30mph into a small curb thingy, it ramped into the air and started flipping when it hit the ground. the steering bellcrank snapped in half on one side. then some kids nearby started to laugh

@resdes213 the rustler is faster, just becuase it is geered differently. it is designed for more on-road and less stopping and going. the stampede can handle off-road better. it is also more easy and durable. you can jump it more and bash it more.

I dont suggest aluminum unless your showing it off. If you want something thats not only virtually unbreakable and a lot cheaper i actually recommend rpm. Aluminum is only shiny nothing more, and where it lacks give certain aluminum parts break easily and are weaker than the cheaper rpm parts. So if you can get rpm, get that instead, you will thank me, and yourself.

TO SNIELCOOL a stampede will do around 25mph with a 6 or 7 cell battery but with the 7cell you will have a bit more power unless you combine the 7cell battery with the higher pinion gear that comes in the box then you will be looking at 30mph plus.But they do not recomend using the higher pinion gear for off road use

Yeah, the Rustler will be less of a jumper. It is more built lower to the ground, so less ground clearence is there. The Stampede will be more fun to drive......the Stampede VXL will be your best bet. It will jump, and wheelie on command, but it is still very fast.

but i think its a six cell battery 7.2v 5000mah venom it got a team orion raceing motor ok it had a stock 23 tooth pinion gear but only did like 15 mph and no power so i put a 20 tooth in and still no power or wheelies any suggestions??

And you ptobably know that the stampede is waterproof now too. Also It´s a lot better off-road due to the larger tires

well it depends... i can take turns at 40mph with mine and its fine...if you get the stampede the vxl is a little longer and wider...i bought the xl-5 last year , widened it and put a sidewinder brushless combo on it..works great

And I will mke one thing clear, stampede has a higher top speed compared to the rustler due to it larger tires

About the top speed thing, that's false, top speed is dictated by the amount of friction acting on it so fatter wheels actually generate more friction so it has a lower top speed. Your refering to overall gearing which does have an effect butif you put a larger pinion on the rustler it will go faster.

Yes ofc it all depends on the pinion, but me and my friend(who owns a rustler) raced, and my stampede was faster.(And yes we had the same gears)

OK but ultimately the rustler will have a higher top speed. Yes you pick your top speed/acceleration with the pinion, but the pinion does not decide the overall acceleration/top speed ratio that the rustler will score better on. So what I'm saying is you can't judge a car by it's pinion : )

i got a stampede and i run a mechanical esc on it...its brushed and i run two 6 cells on it ...i still run the titan 550 on it with paddle tires and different rear A arms....it does about 40 with regular tires and 35 with paddles.....has an insane roost too!

get a rust if u want less body roll and more speed but the stampede is still fun and is hard to break for the most part 4 me at stock everything with the ready to go package. Really if you want to spend a little more get the Slash a tiny bit faster than the stampede but cant go through tall stuff as much, but its a great jumper and a decent bit better than the stampede but it has to have a better motor to wheelie since Im metioning the electric brush motors.U get Stampede get the wheelie bar
