that's completely untrue, some bands use overhead mics, but a lot of bands nowadays use mics on each drum and between cymbals so they can trigger them

j0gan673.....do you even know what triggers are?? lol Live, almost every band uses at least 1 mic for each drum..some 2 or 3...then use overhead mics to capture the cymbal sound...sometimes even 1 mic per cymbal..but normally just a pair of overheads! Triggers are something completely different...they enable you to "trigger" a different sound..or even a sample of the same drum you have the trigger on....nothing to do with mics dude!!

@crazycarp16...yeah you can use triggers in that way....Drum triggers are piezo sensors that react to the pressure of the vibration of the drum heads. The electronic impulse from the piezo is sent to a drum module or "brain" and "triggers" the samples within the module. Not just bass drum...you can use them on every drum..enabling you to create an exact sound every time. However hard you hit..the volume will be the same or very similar.

@DayOfRockening and thats why here comes the kraken has such epic double bass.......iv also herd they use quads.....but on the other note i had triggers spot on but i thought they were found mostly in electric sets but need to be added to acoustic which can be pricey but worth it in the long run because it perfects your sound

yea thats true, but i've tried out all the trick and axis pedals, i've gotta say, axis and trick are almost parallel on preformance, the only major difference is the materials they are made from. I mean, unless ur gonna be using trick pedals to re-enter the atmosphere, what is areospace steel needed for lol? Im sure the aircraft steel that axis pedals are made from, would be enough. But thats my opinion
