May be thats one of the reason why within 15 minutes of walk I can choose among several hundreds of restaurants from all over the world. The more option I have ... the better it is. Do people in Italy think different or they feel threathen by fast food ?

I think you misunderstand, "Staseman", there is some threat from fast food, it is unhealthy and bad for the local economy. But the point of the vid is the triumph of quality and tradition over garbage.

NYC is a poor example, MOST people on earth don't live in a major city. And I CHEER everytime a WalMart closes, same thing...

I also live in NYC yes there's all you can eat (apart from its dirtiness ) but most of the stuff is full of chemicals: MSG, Hydrolized Corn,and 1/2 of the Periodic Table. I am happy to know that I was eating all this shit for 2 yrs and don't do now. Home eating.

Well nice little restaurants are cool, but mac Donalds (or Wallmart) are not, according to me... It's a question of taste and consciousness of a threat to weaker cultures and lifestyles.

Did McDonalds went out of business because of focaccia store or it's a coinsedence ? In any case why there is such an upbeat tone about place going out of business ? I live in New York and I never heard people cheering when restaurant is closing.
